4:52 The bonewheel shield rotates a little when it's hit. Never noticed. Little things like that are freaking neato.
So you can moveswap the Bonewheel Shield onto a BKH...

Just too bad it's such a low drop. I didn't get one until end-game by farming outside the Kiln, since before that there's only one Knight that uses it and luck wasn't on my side.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio theres two, one next to the second darkroot garden/valley of the drakes bonfire, and the one in the tomb of the giants
@@OtakuUnitedStudio theres also a black knight greataxe one in the catacombs, two greatsword ones (Undead Parish, Northern Undead Asylum) and 2 (maybe 3) sword ones. The halberd is usually the best but all three of those weapons are amazing, and each knight has a 20% drop rate for their weapon so you’ll probably get one. I personally like the great axe the most bc its rather difficult to get and has an amazing moveset
This isn't as easy to follow as the slow, clear-speaking old man. I'm starting to understand why that transition was made haha
So that's why I can do the shield bash I've been doing randomly for ages!
Amazing video. Some new stuff shown were the comparisons, lefthand stability and the bash instruction.
According to the wiki, the Greatshield of Artorias is another shield that blocks status effect in PvE on block.

Wow, that was amazing. I knew sooo little about shields before that I didn't even realise the Havel shield had a buff on it - and it was my main shield for most of the game!

This information is very good :) I'm a shield man all the way, I can appreciate the effort to making shields even more viable in Souls.
The two points I will likely take away from this are: (1) Shield Push and (2) 100+ stability. As compared to *ENB*'s video on the Leo Ring, shield push seems a lot safer way to get counter hit damage. Which I'd like to try out with a Warpick/Leo Ring build. And Strong Magic Shield might be enough to turn certain medium shields into powerhouses. Might make for an interesting, first Int playthrough.
Also thanks for pointing out the Crystal Shield's ability to block status aliments, that should be quite useful in Blighttown or Invasions.

Unfortunatly instability damge and counter damage are different things, the extra damage you get when landing, staggering etc does not get the leo ring bonus.

All these years, and I never knew about the Havel Shield buff. I never actually used Havel's for anything because I like to parry (or try to parry) too much. I like that it's still possible to learn new things about this game. :)
I've been soulsing for years and am familiar with several exploits, but this was some deep info. Well done! Thanks for the vid.

It's not the speed at which you're speaking that makes it hard to make it out, it's the background sound and music that interfere, you have to make your voice louder or turn down the bg sound. Otherwise, that's an amazing video, thanks a lot. Although I will hardly use a lot of those tricks of the game, some might come in handy now and then, and it's just great knowing stuff. Thank you!

@@suppression2142 chill. It’s difficult to understand him throughout a lot of this video. It’s a combination of bad mic quality, poor audio mixing where the music/sfx are too loud, and him not enunciating very well sometimes.

@@ThePhobophile I agree, I was just writing about how the transition to the slow, clear-speaking old man makes a lot of sense when you watch this old stuff. The accent kinda doesn't help for me either, and I usually don't have any problem with any accent that actually speaks English that I've ever run into. You're right, it's mostly about enunciation, speaking too quickly, and less-than-ideal audio mixing. Limit's come a long way since 2014!

Side note: if you do a blocking attack with a spear/thrusting sword (and you don't completely drain your stamina) then you can't be staggered, even against the heaviest attacks.

I usually play two-handed with a shield for parrying, I should clearly experiment more.

Frist, Do you need Volunteers for DSK2 Shield mechanics? Second your very close to being my intellectual doppelganger. For your next dark souls crazy builds, I would recommend Man with Thousand Movesets, or the Universalitiest, or King of The HILL. Focusing on using the most complex move-set weapon with spells to hold terrain. Use Blue Flame, Disc Chime, Pilgrims Spontoon, Pyroflame, bow and whip of choice. 13 Casts with no buffs, I would recommend Warmth, Lingering flame, dark fog, soul great sword or dark great sword, wog or soul flash or scraps of life, soul arrow, crystal soul mass or affinity.

I suppose, then, that limit has always had a hard on for shields
I like how the English subtitles are in English English not American English as I feel they are actually different enough in spelling and pronunciation that they can be classified as different types of English as after we Americans broke away from Briton we changed the spelling and pronunciation of many words from English English. I may be American but the English the British speak is older and I like some of the English spellings better than the American spellings like aluminium instead of aluminum.
