That have a 3.6 passat 4motion wagon almost the same the r36 has 300 hp as the 4motion 3.6has 280hp from what iv seen .. I have a 2010 passat komfort 2.0t and a 2007 passat 3.6 4motion wagon and I stay in Florida
Hello, I'm going to buy one of this but I need a last advice; I'm still not sure whether it's better the TDI version or this TSI version. Did you try the diesel version? Any suggest?
That's completely up to you and your needs. If you're worried about the fuel consumption, get the TDI. You'll be much better off. If that doesn't matter to you then get the TSI
Dont know if you bought it yet. I drove both and decided to buy TDI, maybe it has 26kw less power, but for mě it was suprisingly moře fun to drive and better fuel consumption. If you have any questions go ahead and ask! :)
@@Lumpyy75 In what ways was it more fun to drive? Do you use it for short journeys only or do u do long trips? Im thinking of getting a diesel but 75% of my trips are in town, maybe 1 or 2 longer trips per week so im not sure if diesel or petrol is better for me, dont want the dpf getting clogged.
I have had this car for the last 4 years in Australia. It is not new. It is a face lift cosmetically but the mechanics are not new. It was called the Passat R-line when it was released here. They sold like hotcakes.
You said it yourself, it's a facelift. So it is new. Not mechanically but visually. Plus you get a few extras in this Special Edition that you couldn't get on the regular R-line.
Really nice car! Great informative video, thank you. I wonder if a simple remap would tune the performance to the same as the R. I dont see why not if it's the same engine?? I noticed in your video you get a nice r line edition badge in the middle of the console. Does that have the limited edition number on it? Seems like the UK ones dont have this...
Yes, it's the same engine so you can easily take it beyond 300hp. Concerning the badge, as far as I know, every Passat Special Edition should have it. Thanks for the support!
@@TunedIntoCars I have never seen that badge on another similar car. I am in the UK, but no other non-UK reviews show it either. I have just bought this car, this week, and I would like to know where I could get one tbh.
@@TheSuperfool Hi David, It seems like the UK models did not get this plaque/badge. In the end I got a trophy engraver to make the badge for me looked really good in the end 👍🏻
Car reviews normally bore the life out of me, this was great, well made and told me what I wanted to know - thanks!!
Sticking with my old r36! Still cant get over it! I like the old look for some reason the new one looks like a classic bmw wagon.
I wish we got the wagon version in the US.

@@jimmyposton9114 Yes. But what about torque ? aspirated engines do not have it !
That is my dream car and It all started with R36...We all wanna see Passat R with 300+ PS
You can easily get this car above 300hp ;)
@@TunedIntoCars Haha I know, but I like it when VW does it :))
Nice, did the UK cars get the numbered dash badges too?
Wonderful. The total car. 😉
good video!!!! I've been looking for a video about this special edition for some weeks
Hello! Can you tell me what was average consumption in that 7 days? Thank you!

I won't change my R36 for anything...
Ive got one and i cant part with it either. Like the fact nobody knows what it is.

The r36 is a 3.6l vr6? The car in the video is a 2.0

So it's heavier that a Golf R Estate. With less power. Doesn't sound that special edition
This is a Passat. Obviously it's heavier than a Golf :)
i bet you get more space and comfort than in the golf. I don't want to blame the golf r though
nope, its a lawnmower.
