  • Wild camping, a bothy stay, and astro photography all in one weekend and in one county of Ireland along the famous Wild Atlantic way.
Join me on my road trip to the beautiful County Mayo in the west of Ireland where I'll show you one of Ireland's most beautiful beaches, take you on a short cliff hike and tour of Achill Island, before I take you into Irelands most remote national park, Wild Nephin, to sleep in one of Ireland's only bothys.

4:05 "I'm not an astro photographer" shows an epic image of his tent under the stars 😂 Nice vlog!

Haha thank you very much Tyler! I think the stars did most of the work, I just released the shutter 😂

Did that northern end of the Bangor Trail two years ago in September and vowed I'd never do it again. Last June during a bit of a mini heatwave i did a high level route on the hills over it, and it was far more pleasant, i returned, however via the trail and despite great weather leading up to it, it was still the wettest walk in Ireland, and I've been all over the country. Very few redeeming qualities. I stopped at the bothy for a coffee break, and thought it a good job, i wonder though does it get much use?
Ps. A question? The way you exited back to the N59, would that make a good way in for someone wanting a bothy night, i get the impression that the roadway in is possibly private? TIA if you get to answer.
    Great video, thanks.

Glad you agree George. Hopefully some funding will be secured where they can repair the path and ibstall drainage. From what I understand, the road is public. However, beyond the dwellings is private land. So that might limit the use of the road to that of an escape route
