I’m 5’4 and love this bike perfect fit for me and not to heavy plenty of power and this is my first bike I have never owned a bike in my life and when I bought this one I just jumped on it and took off been riding it ever since
We are about the same height. I was a teenager when I last rode on a motorcycle and they say this bike is for beginners. So, I'm considering this in the future.
CAFE or NOWAY. I’ve been riding for 5 decades on 500 to 900 cc machines. And Tourism is not my cup of tea. The Iron with minimal modifications is the most fun bike on the Planet. 😎 There are faster bikes, more dependable bikes, but the HD delivers on so many levels it’s my choice of poison ☠️ to ride on. I don’t care if you differ😂😂😂
Robert Sparkes Been riding for 30 years always on Japanese bikes and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised riding an 883. The looks of it is spot on and the aftermarket stuff for it is limitless 💪 Stay safe BB 🍻
And I was just going to come on and say exactly that ..... my first one was a 72 kick 1000 I work in a bike shop I've ridden all kinds of stuff nothing like real iron I had a 57 pan big twins weigh 800 + pounds they called Sportster a girl's bike..... but if a girl's slinging this iron around she's probably got a girlfriend
@Afg Tunes The step up is the 1200 engine. Forty Eight (tiny tank), Iron 1200 and custom 1200. Worth noting than gears are taller on the 1200 so better on the highway. If you like the looks of the 883 it can be modded with a 1200 engine kit.
Sportster is a great bike if they just didnt ride so rough and were little smoother. They look fantastic and I'd take them over a softail if they had a better ride. Could care less about the power and torque difference, they still have that muscular sound and good enough torque.
love my Iron. no idea why people say it can't keep up on the highway. I run mine to work 90 miles hwy round trip average 85mph, no problem. Still have plenty of passing power at that speed too. Cant' keep up with baggers on the highway??? Maybe if they steady cruise at 100mph or you're pushing 250 pounds. It's a shitty evaluation.
The brakes will feel better once the brake pads wear in a little bit. The advantage of any Harley is the lower RPM's at highway speeds (55-70mph). Other bikes rev higher at such speeds. I prefer the lower RPM's which makes me more relaxed than a bike with higher RPM's. I've had three Harley Big Twins and I think the Sportster is way more fun! Go for it, buy one.
This could, in my opinion, be maybe one of the best bikes to get as a second bike if you already have a big tourer or very fast and agile sportsbike. As a nice addition or contrast if you like to put it that way.
Great Vlog- i am ready to get this for my Kid- who's 6.3". i will be heading to dealership tomorrow. thank you for specifically mentioning your height. i was a bit nervous if this bike is fit for a taller person. after watching this , i am feeling confident. i love HD, i worked for HD 7 years in Milwaukee, ever since i had been dreaming about owning a HD bike. finally, i am getting one from my Kid who will start his UNI this fall. need all riders blessings :)
Hey Scott, He’s super thrilled about the bike. I got a Iron 883N 2019 Matt black. Amazing machine. Cant stop bragging about it. We ordered V&H short shots exhaust system and ready to be installed next week. Can’t wait to hear the new Roar..!!!

That's all the bike I want, I love the 883 Iron. I just want one with 14 inch Z-Bars on it. Short rides, and very twisty back roads is my thing, always has been..
My wife has a '16 Iron 883. Functionally identical to the '20, and I actually enjoy riding it as much as I do my '16 Lowrider, depending on the particular ride. The only thing I don't like about the '16-'20 Irons is the almost nonexistent rear suspension and that damned air cleaner that looks like they hung a dryer vent on the side of the bike. I replaced the air cleaner with a Hammer Performance Impact air cleaner and put a set of Rush slipons on it. Made a decent difference, but there's a complete Hammer 1275 kit waiting for a little spare time to be installed..... Nice review by the way, but estimating it at fifty-some horsepower is giving a lot of credit. Most stockers dyno at about 45 horsepower or just a bit more.
@@Adam-xu8db about 12000 with all the California taxes. I'm paying 200 a month instead of 300 like the other guy said. Depends on your credit but it's worth the money, only wish I had gotten the 1200 with some of the mods it already comes with

I bought a 2010 Iron for $4500. The bike is not quick but it’s not as slow as it appears in this video. The up-shifts in this video were pretty early which is fair considering the bike doesn’t have a clear tachometer. Nice vid

Good review bro. New to the channel. I have the 2019 iron blacked out. But I currently have mine getting the Olive Gold paint job on it. Love this bike it's my first one and I don't regret the decision. The vibration is real lol. I had to put some air cushion grips on mine. Changing out the pipes as well with the vance and hines slip ons then i'm done for now.
@@neji1496 no motorcycle, from what I know which is not much, doesn't have or really need a remote start. Especially a basic model like the Sportsters!
I'm thinking of buying this as my first bike, since I'm going to be a new rider. I've only ridden a 250cc dirt bike before so I have somewhat of an idea of how the clutch works, however I keep getting people tell me that have been riding for a long time say oh get your self a soft tail instead because you are going to grow out of that little 883 but the fact the matter is I'm a short guy 5'5" so this bike would suite me more I think?
D3LTA KING surely will suit you more, I love my 883 do not listen to all the other guys, soft tails are nice don’t get me wrong, my brother has a heritage I’ve ridden several times my buddy has a softtail slim which is a very nice bike and has a hell of a lot of pep that I have also ridden several times, but sportsters are a very fun bike nimble on the road so it moves great, the newer ones are 5 gears compared to my 1971 I had which was 4 gears and right side shift kick start only which makes the newer sportys much more highwayable lol and I’m a shorter guy as well very comfortable on these if you end up wanting more power get the 1250 jugs and slap them on with a tune and such and the “big bike” guys will lose their mind when you pull of at a light
I'm disappointed with those pipes why they're so quiet? did Sportsters always had them before? I thought they had like pretty loud pipes straight from factory..........
You said the brakes are weak? Remember the bike only had 4 miles on it and I hope you know brake pads have to be run in. Try one with a couple hundred miles on it.

I like your conclusions, except for your claim of poor reliability. That EVO engine has been around since 1986 and is considered bulletproof. I owned one for years and never had a warranty repair from new. No oil leaks anywhere, even sweating at the base of the cylinders. Also, it's a cruiser and not know for prolonged highway riding. It would need a sixth gear for that.
