Thank you for the uplifting video. I agree that a plan and/or a script can help so much when creating content yourself. My problem is that I am always travelling alone. And as I go always with small groups for tours I dont know and cant influence what the places will look like, how much time i will have to film and what is doable there. So in the end I end up just doing landscape shots without me (basically only doing B roll). Do you have any tips for that?
Thanks for sharing Simone, if you have loads of great b-roll you are totally winning! Retrospective storytelling is so so powerful. Sit down after your trip and film your a-roll, re living these moments can often be more nuanced, thought provoking, and insightful, they say hindsight is a beautiful thing. Give it a go :)
Another great video, Jake. Love watching them and learning so much. Does your El Grande attach to a tripod mount? It looks like the new version of the El Grande does not. Does anyone know if that is the case?
Using a regular screw in manfrotto mini tripod, should match most camera accessories as they’re all designed with the same size thread and I think all the el grande selfie sticks have the same thread 🤙🏽 check yours again

Hi, Jake! yet another thought provoking vid. I am an old fart trying to get into vlogging myself, and trying to just film myself talking about day to day stuff. It's getting used to hearing yourself and seeing yourself on camera, as I always feel stupid and self conscious when filming me. I'm getting into the "stuff what people think" stage and think this is helping! Love you guys!!
Hi Jake and Anna, I hope you are doing well. Thx for sharing your expertise. You do read my mind or what ? This subject is precisely the one of the moment.. 😉 Actually we may be even be surprised by our own image or voice as well. Am I presenting well..smiling enough..using the right tone to speak? Do I look happy making this video ? Certainly some videos will be never published or even shared…I speak for me..😂 Yes technical feature like the grid can help to ensure we are at the good place in the view… People may be interested by what is around as well. Balance to find between the content of the background and the person filmed. The mixture of the colors of the ambient environment compared to those of the clothes we wear can also play.
Yes as you detailed to add others technical tricks or appropriate music will make the video more viewable actually. Basic laundry scenario..is an excellent choice, making a viewable video from that common task/chore. In fact there may be two groups of videos for those where we film ourselves, the ones we will share and the others…🙃

Have you tried screen recording rather than filming? Screen record the iPhone and share that?
