Damn! Now that's how a bridge pickup should sound! HiFi heaven. I sold my Jr., like yours, a few years ago. Now I miss it, but tomorrow I'll be picking up an Eastman SB55DC/TV. Jack, you put out such good, articulate and pertinent content. We appreciate it.

Traded my SG Junior for a sick headless Kiesel Osiris 6, the guitar is flawless, but I am still sick with regret about losing the junior..

Like you I made my 2T LPJ mine too. I did the knobs like you, and wiring 50's style but with a 250k tone to tame the highs. The final touch was a OEM tortious shell LPJ pickguard that someone was selling on reverb.

Big fun! 'Sold!' the minute you started playing in the clean section - open and definitely a touch 'chimey' & bell like. What a great upgrade.

My next guitar will absolutely be an Epiphone Les Paul jnr.
I can't afford a Gibson (man yours sounds PHAT!!!!) but for $300AUD used in good condition, I'm getting an Epi LP jnr

$300 plus is what a fret job costs..a fret level and set up is around $175..which most guitars need after wood settles in after a year or two..and your going to waste all that playing time on a guitar that is not worth even refreting ?

That actually kind of motivates me to get a Les Paul Junior even more because I always wanted one but it seems a bit redundant with the Flying V and ES-225 that I already have and the SG Junior that I would buy before I got a Les Paul Junior but putting in a more 1950s sounding pickup and using it as a guitar for when I want a bit of a punch but not a full on explosion like I get with my hot rodded Gibsons would give it more of a place in my collection than just spending $1000 on one because I think it's cool (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Jack I missed the first video you did on this guitar with factory pickup. This sounds amazing right now with the Righteous P90. Has all the tones you could ever want. I'm recently discovering P90's after 40 plus years. I picked up a Noventa Tele a few months ago. I'm like you with mods. I had to get rid of hum and keep the original character so I'm going to change the P90 with a JJN from Seymour Duncan. I really enjoyed the video. Have an awesome Sunday

If a mod improves the clean tone by making it more open and melodic then that is what I would want for my JR. as well.

Sweet sounding Jnr Jack 😊I recently upgraded my SG Special with a Music City Bridge "Savvy" and locking studs. It made a big difference in terms of intonation and tone. I would happily recommend it to anyone using a wraparound bridge Gibson.

    Put 330k pots... 😉
    50's wiring is the way
One last thing, you can play with tone capacitor value. I found that a very low value (56nF polyester) vas great. The sound of a wah pedal in middle position with the knob at zero. Much more usable than the classic muffled sound...

Push pull pot would give an additional sound. a series capacitor cuts bass and mellows the output

How did you get the Klusons on there? I was under the impression that the holes weren't straight enough to use the three on a plate style on the USA juniors, did you use an adapter bushing or did you straight up dowel and redrill the holes?

Gibson LP Jr design is flawed . I guess they can't play 100% in tune especially in the upper register 12th fret up cause of the flawed bridge ? Tom Bukovac says "Music City Bridges" with fix that . Ever heard of them , Jack ?
