I swear that Barbie Doll scene was pure nightmare fuel, an underrated gem of a movie that got slept on because of other movies with living toys.
The scene with Archer and the cat is calming. Just keep watching that scene on loop.
@@matrixmaster9616
Yeah that was a very wholesome scene 👍☺️
Movie is fine but it does drag on in parts. I'd say it's about 30 minutes longer than it needs too be.
@@honestdave
I suppose so not to mention the film confusion on who it was meant to be for.
I think the Barbies are called Gwendy dolls.

6:22 that was adorable tho…
Agreed
4:14 That's the father he played as Sam's dad in Transformers and Revenge Of The Fallen
An absolute classic
Loved this movie
Why are the Barbies a lot more scary than the actual villain
Cos barbies are scary
They look deformed
The soldier toys experimented on them
The fact barbies have a Happy cheery personality further intensifies how scary they can be. Wearing a smile on their face while criticizing you on your attire as they try to kill you is brutally fun
Because the Commando Elites installed some machine parts in those regular dolls and made them alive. They even cut them open to install the machine parts, that's why they looked mutilated
Does anybody else notice that the girl has an anti war poster yet starts beating the crap out of her dolls and kills them?
I think that might be the point
Oof
And? War is a horrible fucking thing while defending yourself from mutant toys is kinda justified.
Congratulations, you understood the irony of that sequence.

A shame Small Soldiers never caught on. I legitimately liked it.
You know I actually caught wind of a 'proof of concept' for a 'Small Soldiers' spinoff! Look up "War for the Nekron" when you get some time!
It was so exciting, as a kid. My first experience of a battle scene in a movie.
There was a Warhammer 40,000 proof of concept inspired by Small Soldiers about 3 months ago. I think it's rather neat. Very well made, for a concept.

This came on my recommended today and it makes me so happy. I was born in 2001 and I saw this movie when I was 6 and I forgot the name of it. It was one of those childhood movies that I remember so vaguely I wasn't sure it truly existed...until today

*"It's a Baton death March"*
Oh god the layers of that joke lol
@the_terror842it's a dark humor joke with a couple meanings. First, the doll says Bataan death march because the girl is beating all of the toy barbie dolls with a literal Bataan she had. The second meaning, being relevant since the movie here is about toy US soldiers/commandos fighting enemy monsters, the Bataan Death March was an event that occurred in WWII shortly after the Japanese attacked the US at Pearl Harbor. After that attack, the Japanese invaded the Philippines where they engaged in battle with US American & Filipino troops over the next 3 months. By the end, due to disease, hunger, and artillery fire, a US general announced the surrender of all remaining American & Filipino troops to the Japanese. Some 20k-30k soldiers total. After the fall of Bataan, the Japanese forced the Filipino & American troops to March some 70 miles over the next 5-7 days from Bataan to another city. Many grew tired from lack of food, water, physical exhaustion, disease or sickness, and endless amounts of abuse by Japanese. The Japanese would stick their bayonet into the troops who appeared to weak or were lagging behind. They would also beat and even crucify soldiers if they felt like it. Many were also shot randomly or indiscriminately killed. By the end of the March, over 10,000 US/Filipino troops had died during the tortuous event. Most of the deaths, 85% were Filipino soldiers and the remaining percentage being US Soldiers, some 1500, that had perished. This tragedy and mistreatment later became known by the world as the Bataan Death March, and is still remembered today with a voluntary March done in a US desert, a race essentially while carrying gear/ruck sacks, that is near 27 miles total and takes nearly 10 hours to complete. It's held every year and is a way to commemorate all the soldiers and allied troops lost during that tragic battle in 1942 WWII by the Japanese.
Edited: "I Learned since then they did make action figures for the movie, and I now have bought an Archer figure" I believe they might of not just sold any of the action figures in my area. watching this years later made me realize:
that weapons chip is stronger then we thought, i literally gave them their own AI's basically, with that they built freaking weapons/weapon vehicles
Wha...what did you think it was before..? Even as kids watching this years ago, the movie made a clear point to make us aware that the microchip processors within the toys were originally used/contracted with the Department of Defense for top secret applications or weapons. That was the whole plot device for the toys unpredictable and erratic behavior as well as intelligence. I always thought the "Skynet" vibes were pretty obvious so curious at what you thought was behind the toy mayhem before if you just now are realizing all this 😅
These toys were solid af, loved them as a 10 year old atheist.
