- There's nothing cuter than Karl Urban speaking German. Especially for me as a native speaker, I always enjoy it when actors try to slip a few words of German into an interview. These cute english accents on German just make me melt away :-)

@@misterm7225 I have news for you: Austria is a country of its own and very much NOT Germany. Washington on the other hand is part of the US as you're probably well aware, so your comparison is... off.
Mrdascratch said the interviewer was German (the nationality, not the language!) and I said, nope.
The accurate comparison would be USA and UK, by the way. You wouldn't call out a Brit as an "arrogant American", would you?

But i also have to add that Daniel Brühl lived most of his life in germany, grew up in germany, married a german woman and still lives in germany. He might be half spanish but overall he is a flawless german and it would be quite boring to see him speak german since he is german (nationality) while the others mentioned above are only (partly) ethnically german (and do not speak the language very well).
this is why i don't understand when people say german isn't an attractive language.

Who said it‘s every time? Interviewers are not all the same, a lot of them are aware of the typical questions for a big movie star like him and are probably not gonna ask them..
He always starts out greeting the interviewers in German tho, so he’s really just setting himself up lol

The look he gives John Cho when he says "But I love you"...he reminds me of a puppy that ate a shoe and is asking for forgiveness through puppy eyes that clearly say 'im adorable so you can't turn me down'.

I learn German since I'm eleven and I always thought it sounded awfull. Spoken by Karl, it's just pure sex.
In this case you didn't learn it the right way.
Every language can sound good if spoken properly.
There are hundreds of ways to pronounce differently in the german language. Not only dialects but also the way of speaking.
For example, the people 100 years ago basically spoke the very same german but used (at least for todays standards) odd words and had another way of pronouncing german. They spoke "sharper" and rolled the R more than todays germans while todays german sounds a bit rounder and not so edged like you would jump over a sharp object with every word.

@@CODA96 Richtig. Karl-Heinz ist ein schönerer Name als so ziemlich alle millenial und genz namen zusammen. Deutsche in Deutschland sollten deutsche Namen tragen und nicht kevin oder luca heissen, ist einfach nur peinlich.
Er spricht sehr gut deutsch und es ist so süß und sexy *_* "Du bist ein Dummkopf, John" ist mein Lieblingssatz, so perfekt und pronunciert ausgesprochen xD

Dass die Journalisten bei einem Schauspieler, der irgendwie einen deutschen Hintergrund hat, das Interview immer auf deutsch haben wollen... Würde mich genau so wenig vorführen lassen, wenn ich die Sprache nicht voll beherrsche und nur ein paar Sätze von mir geben kann

Ich verstehe das nicht. Wenn ich ins Ausland auswandere, bringe ich doch meinen Kindern die dort geboren werden auch die Sprache ihrer Eltern bei damit sich das Kind in der Welt besser zurecht findet.

Da stimme ich zu. Meine Eltern sind beide deutsch, aber ich bin in Großbritannien aufgewachsen. Mein Deutsch ist nicht 100% perfekt, aber ich arbeite dran. Es hat mir definitiv einen Vorteil in der Berufswelt geschaffen.
I agree. My parents are both German but I grew up in Great Britain. My German isn't 100% perfect but I'm working on it. It definitely gave me an advantage in the business world.

Yes, but Eric's father is from Croatia or of Croatian descent because of his Eric's last name, Banadinovic. He does have German in him. He's mentioned it in interviews.
