Hello, I have attended several beginner line dance lessons this year. You are the first teacher who really demonstrated all the basic steps, by name and by count. Thank you so much, for the first time I understand what I am doing. So many teachers blend too many steps together too fast. This video is what I have needed. Again, thank you.
This video taught me WHAT and HOW I really needed to be taught in class. Brought me up speed easily. Learned more in one hours and 8 weeks x one hourly lesson.
Godsend is the perfect word for you. I had written myself off as "unteachable" when it comes to even the simplest of dances, but you break it down so very well! I can do it and I am starting to understand the building blocks.
I recommended your video to someone who was looking for someone to teach a senior community line dancing. Also told them about the slow down feature of videos should they need that. I think you do a remarkable job of being clear about dance steps.
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! You teaching is clear, concise, no distractions. SOOO helpful. I’ve been capturing the times at which the various steps are taught, to share with my fellow line-dance learners. ❤❤❤
You are excellent instructor. I tried to follow many videos but it was useless because they don't give instructions very well as you do. Your instructions are very clear to follow anyone who doesn't know anything about line dance. Great job. Not enough words to explain about your amazing work. Thank you so much ❤
Thank you for this tutorial. So very helpful and thank you Tim R for the time stamps you've put in replies here. The first 30 minute break down and then scrolling further in the replies I've found your 2nd 30 minute break down. Thank you.
This is awesome. I was so timid about line dancing but after viewing this video I am beginning to gin confidence and the willingness to try!! Thank you!!
Really great clear instructions! I used to teach aerobics eons ago, and am surprised at how similar the steps are. You teach how I like to learn - slowly and clearly, with great cueing.
Great job! Thank you for doing this video! It's for teachers that have a class and cannot teach a new person all those steps or someone that just want to learn line dancing. I think you pretty much covered the majority of steps!
I went through about half way, But since I don’t know the dance at all. I am wondering how many of these steps I’ll have to remember. Good instructions on the steps. But I’m feeling positively geriatric! 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for sharing this fabulous post! I have watched it several times just to make sure I am learning the proper names of the many steps we use in our dances.
Thanks a bunch! You are the best! I had been looking for this kind of teaching for years! I love the line dancing, but I had many troubles with the steps. Thanks, thanks and thanks! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Like Noah S, I am so grateful for the detailed instructions that demonstrate some of the more subtle aspects of the steps. Example, I've yet to see someone do the sailor step at about 41:00 with the push up that makes it a sailor step.
side bar: CROSS STEP Cross Step is ANY series of steps that crosses one foot in the front or in the back of the other foot either once or more times. ..for instance in the Electric Slide (also known as Elvira) you start with the right foot step to the right side then the left foot crosses in back or in front and uncrosses and finish with a touch step with the left Sub Heading: "grape vine", "vine" or a "weave" step is just five or more cross steps in a certain order: for instance in the 12 Step or Paquetville or serpent or serpentine you start with the left foot and take 2 rock step starting with the left foot and on the sixth step with the right foot stepping over the left foot, uncrossing and stepping with the right foot behind the left and so on.. ..some do this cross step behind then a cross step over and so on this series of CROSS STEPS is referred to as a "grape vine" or just "vine" or a "weave". As you can see, in order to know if a series of cross steps are designated a grape vine or a weave you have to see at least 2 cross steps or 5 steps.. As you watch, see if one foot, say the right foot, cross in front of the left then uncross and on the next cross step cross behind the left and then uncrosses and cross in front of the left and so on. One foot is said to "weave" the other.. NOT TO BE PICKY if a series of cross steps do not alternate front and back (or back and than front) they are not a "grape vine" or "vine" or a "weave" which is why you have to see at least 2 cross steps or 5 steps..1 cross step in not a vine or a weave (guess I was being picky lol) Confused are we yet..lol
Thank you so much. I am a beginner line dancing student, you rock! Also, love your boots, any suggestions on getting a new pair of boots to line dance in?
Haven't danced so looking for "this is how to do K step etc. I'm in a senior community. I'm in the ignoramus twits lunar tricycles mentioned. Learning Box and others. This is just what I was looking for. Grapevine I do know.
This is awesome, thank you so much. I was worried, because other videos dicouraged me a lot and I had the impression that I will never be able to follow. Your instructions gave me hope that it is achievable :-) I never line danced before and I was not sure if taking a class may be the right thing. No I am willing to give it a try. And I now I can allways come back to this video and practice until muscle memory is built.
My opinion only! I would like to see a sample of the dance with music to START with, followed by instructions. It would be watching to see if I liked it, followed by okay let's do this.
Great job, thanks! I'd love to add my two cents:
