New Pokemon games! It's about time, right? Sinnoh's not extremely slow and it makes me want to play the game so much more! But the question is, can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in Brilliant Diamond version using only Water types? Well, it's a short question, but with a long answer, get some popcorn and a beverage and hope you enjoy.

Rules of the challenge:
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the Type Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

I think having battle animations for hard-core nuzlocks for the important fights is good since its makes the video more interesting for me since seeing pokemon just jumping about every time it uses a move is off putting and is uncomfortable for me.
I mean it really a remake since they didn’t change anything other than the Tm apps without using move slots at least with Omega ruby and alpha. Sapphire they made the story’s more interesting

Cynthia had a competitive strat? I swept her with no effort like I did back when the games first came out
@@evilanimegenious she has high level pokemon, perfect EVs and IVs and competitive-level movesets making her a formidable opponent for most players... Yet you can easily set up on her spiritomb and sweep no problem
NO! Do not lock the extra mythicals to the post game! It’s a nice option to use them on a standard playthrough rather than just dex fodder you never actually use because you already have your team. Heck solely because they’re here, I want to try a psychic mono run with them.
It’s fine if you don’t want to use them, but it’s a nice option for others.

It is funny how interchangeable the teams are that I did not even notice, really. Only spotted Team Aqua and Team Flare before he resolved the joke.

Same here. Although, I'd suggest trying it after a couple of months, and see what changes between this run and the next one.

Ah, yes. Candice and Cyrus having unevolved pokemon at +/- level 40, and Flint's "Steel/Fire Steelix, Ghost/Fire Drifblim, Normal/Fire Loppuny" team. My favourite DP features.

Surprised you didn’t pull it off because water is one of the best types for the gen 4 elite four. The Elite four is no joke in this game though with all the competitive items, hidden abilities, optimal natures, and solid movesets.
That is great to hear. I hated gen 6 and 7 for how easy they were.
@@creativecookbook ultra sun is actually one of the hardest Pokémon games so just play that instead of regular sun. I have a couple of recommendations which I do to make games harder and more fun.
1. Set no items. I always at least do this no matter what game I am playing. You can use held items just no stuff like potions and X accuracy
2. Monotype (with set no items)
3. Hardcore nuzlocke (I find it to be more fun not looking up opponents team) Just look up stuff like items and gift pokemon but nothing on the opponents. Better on emulators so you can get unlimited rare candies because grinding is boring.

Cynthia as a full on competitive team and her Garchomp isnt her only scary pokemon, that marvel scale milotic with a flame orb is so fucking tanky and also knows recover, sadly that unless you poison it first turn it becomes a monster tha eats hits from both physical and special moves.
The fucking cimo “however” threw me for a loop it felt like falling into a farfa based nightmare

I’d say maybe try another type so we can see different Pokémon and struggles instead of basically the same video but slightly different
I'm so excited to get my copies on Thursday. I know I definitely want Piplup since it was my starter of choice in the originals, but I can't decide between Diamond or Peral to play through first because i want to use Misdrevous and Stunky!

Surprised you didn’t use mantine. Mantine has crazy Sp.Def and is also water flying so it resists a lot, especially in e4 since nothing has electric coverage aside from Lucien
Other than the new remake that came out this year let's go Eevee and Pikachu where the latest remake games made in 2018 Omega Ruby and alpha Sapphire was made in 2014

this E4 is nuts, all the teams are competitively EV'd and all are holding items berries, sashes, orbs (heracross is also holding a flame orb) cynthia swiftly ended my nuzlocke playthrough aswell.
Cynthia's DP team is even better than her Platinum one. And that flame orb was a nice surprise.

Also always on exp share and amie buffs if you walk with your pokemon. Yeah real difficult. Only the post game battles seem hard tbh
@@SilvarusLupus Um... all exp share does is reduce grinding, you could do literally the same thing in base DP with patience... And as for the Amie buffs, kinda negged by the movesets and better AI for most of the game. For the Legdendaries... again, that was possible ever since trading has been a thing so *shrug*

So, after watching the Pokemon Rumble POC and actually quite enjoying it, weirdly enough. Where's the next Rumble title POC?
Also, go and get revenge on Cynthia, it was a pretty good run.
I really wanna do Rumble Blast, but I wanna finish the remainder of the mainline POCs first. All that's left are USUM and BDSP, so it won't be long!

Today I learned that Dragonite's JP name is Kairyu! The name is from a Yugioh monster named Kairyu-Shin, which if you look up the artwork for it, you'll see why Barboach reminded me of it.

I feel like you should not have been over 63 by the beginning of cynthia's battle. probably level 58 for the mons would have been enough
I say do the other type runs first then return to those that failed, such as this one. I am sure that it is possible but sometime you just screw up.

I can answer:
1.) Mew requires you actually have a Let’s Play save file (with the Mii file of yours you play on) and Jirachi require a Sword or Shield save file on your Mii file. Otherwise you can’t get them, in short they aren’t “free” as they require you buy and play two of their other games. So why not?
2.) It’s a game and made with small children in mind- not adults. And people do like at times to play a play through with FUN Pokemon like Mew or Jirachi, Pokemon who have always been outside this game as Event Only Pokemon.
And again a game, meant for fun.. Why do you feel when you did this video did you have the need to rain on other’s parade?
You DON’T have to take them early game or at all… None of us do, and not everyone will buy a Let’s Play game and/ or Sword or Shield, so not everyone will be allowed both. I won’t pick up Let’s Play, not even for a Mew.
And btw though a challenge is fun; because these are generally event only and we next to never get a chance to have a lvl5 mew and/ or Jirachi WITH OUR ID # (to avoid loyalty penalties) early game; people like even me, enjoy being able to have a game with such a legend to enjoy from early to end game.
Besides:
3.) the Main goal of Pokémon games is *to catch them all* ; the journey or story in the game is a side thing. Giving such legends early game doesn’t effect the challenge of filling your pokedex.
“To catch them is my real test” is the theme of the show and naturally of the game.
You can play through without any legends, doesn’t mean it’s going to be any harder. Depends HOW you play and if along with how you challenge yourself.

Btw.. Again you CHOSE to take them early game.. Why didn’t you just opt to wait til Post Game to grab them, if you thought you shouldn’t get them til then?

I just fail to see the issue. Particularly since, being event only til these remakes, they have and are Post Game Pokemon pretty much every other time… For once we can choose to in a Mii file have a mew and/ or Jirachi to enjoy from early to end game and you have to take issue with a change probably ALL the little kids who play have unanimously all love(d)! The age group they target with these games! This isn’t an adult game; made for kids, we just find ways to enjoy it too, is all.

replaying this I was actually surprised how many double battles and evil team battles that gen had :D also the game was HARD. at least for me, underestimating top 4 and especially the champ...(especially with the champ fight)

I had only played Sinnoh on Platinum before, so I just head in there thinking I'd check Psyduck off in the Pokédex, and I think I got it on the 2nd or at least 3rd encounter.
