- The question is, can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in the Gaia ROM hack using only Ghost type Pokemon? Well, it's a short question, but with a long answer, get some popcorn and a beverage and hope you enjoy!

Rules of the challenge:
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the Type Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
Honestly having fire Pokémon in a cold area makes sense-they keep you warm and can help thaw things out!

FYI Charming Cry and Magic Shine are the Japanese translation of Disarming Voice and Dazzling Gleam, because the names wouldn't fit in a 12 character limit.
Gaia is one of the best fan games I've ever played. Great level curve, great pokemon selection, fun story with new villainous team. Fantastic sprite work.
This is a romhack that you can change the starter in. It has a patch for the Universal Pokemon Randomizer which let's you change only your starter options if you want, just an FYI for anyone looking to try something like this.
Not sure if Anyone has mentioned this but no joke if you change the E to an A in PkHex it usually works for ROMS so that might help in the future

I know I'm late on watching this one, but all shiny Pokémon are fair game to catch regardless of the nuzlocke rules, as long as the set rules are followed outside of shinies you catch so, congrats on the shiny joltik!

Late but Charming Cry and Magic Shine aren’t actually new Fairy moves, they’re just Disarming Voice and Dazzling Gleam but renamed because of GBA character limit (at least I assume that’s the reason)

Gaia is a very good rom hack. One of my favourites
I think you should put a flashing lights warning at 42 minutes because of the immense speed up, but that's just a kind suggestion

Disarming Voice's original Japanese name is Charm Voice, and Dazzling Gleam's original Japanese name is Magical Shine.

In nuzlockes, there is something called Shiny Clause, which lets you ignore the other rules and catch a shiny pokemon.
I've seen a few comments mentioning this, I do know it exists but they weren't Ghost types.
