I consider myself to be Southern Baptist, having grown up in the Black church. It is conflicting seeing and hearing Christian pastors that I have listened to proclaim an allegiance to Israel, while at the same time making the genocide of Palestinians based on a war between Christians and Jews versus Muslims. I grew up evangelical, walked away from it because what I was being taught didn't match what I was reading in the bible. As an American Christian it hurts to see my brothers and sisters be so misguided. As a Christian Catholic from Lebanon who was born in the US but came to Lebanon later- thank you! Yes there are serious problems in the church. They were hoodwinked by propaganda starting back in 1909 with the introduction of the C. I. Scofield reference Bible. WOW what a great report. I found it because I am researching Christian Zionism and Christian Nationalism. I grew up evangelical, walked away from it because what I was being taught didn't match what I was reading in the bible. A question to all Christians of any denomination or point of view, from a fellow Christian: where do you see Christ in the genocide taking place against Palestinians now and in the usurping of their entire land and their oppression for the last 80 years? I mean, my head hurts, and I feel that the problem cannot be solved when I watch it, but when I watch the videos from the Palestinian side, everything is clear, and the solution to the problem is just getting rid of the occupation, and that will not be unfair to anyone. I understand now why people in Europe and America say that this issue is complicated. They only see the Israeli side in it or the neutral side, and both will not show the truth as it is. Many of us fell for it. I'm in the UK, where evangelical Christianity is less intense and full-on than in America. Less bound up in politics. But nonetheless I was definitely taught I should be broadly pro-Israel, and Palestinians were barely mentioned at all. I think many of us are waking up now. I actually think that for me Israel and Jewish people became a bit of an idol. I was so petrified that God would punish me if I questioned things that I got very confused. Of course I still love Jewish people, but also Palestinians and everyone. I can see with my own eyes that the behaviour of the Israeli government doesn't remotely line up with the teachings of Christ. I cannot, as a follower of The Prince of Peace support the actions of Zionism.

Even though I attend a non-denominational Church of Christ, my heart feels more pity for the oppressed Orthodox and Catholic Christians in the West Bank. As an American Christian it hurts to see my brothers and sisters be so misguided. We honor our older brothers and sisters in the Spirit, the Jews and pray for their return to the Messiah, Jesus Christ. As a Christian Catholic from Lebanon who was born in the US but came to Lebanon later- thank you! I remember the anger and frustration I'd feel every time I would have to explain the situation to Evangelical Christians from the WEst that they've got it wrong and that what they've grown up to believe is simply not right and actually extremely hurtful. It's no wonder people from here get angry and then labeled as "aggressive". Imagine not taking the time to listen to the people who actually live here and who personally know Palestinians - Christian Palestinians who were kicked out of homes, their land, jailed, stifled...etc. and then told by friends in the West that "we don't kknow our Bible" and that there are no Christian Palestinians here.
I am a Catholic Christian and I can emphatically state that I will never visit Isreal. It is a vastly different place now than when Jesus was sacrificed. May Jesus' blessings and miracles prevail for all Christian Palestinians, and I offer blessings and kindness to the Muslims there as well.

The Palestinians were not left out or denied their right to self determination . They were offered their own independent state by the UN Council in 1947 along with Israel. The UN partitioned the land into two states, one for the Jews and one for the Palestinians.
The Palestinians rejected it and tried to destroy Israel with subsequent wars. If it wasn’t for America’s help the Jews would have been wiped out. Surely after all the suffering of the Holocaust the Jewish people are entitled to a homeland.

Pro-Israel Christians struggle to balance Biblical teachings of justice, fairness and compassion with supporting Israel as the expression of Jewish self determination and identity. Often Palestinian Christians and Muslims are left out of this equation.
