The touching ending music of Tokyo Ghoul’s 2nd Season, arranged for piano.
At first, I thought the ending theme really sounded great (musically speaking). But then when I saw the lyrics translation by Thaerin, it just hit me right in the heart. I was moved by it, because like “Unravel”, the composer tried to capture Kaneki’s thoughts and feelings… I’ve been obsessed with this song ever since.

After 8 years I think this is the best cover of a tokyo ghoul song ever. I know unravel is an amazing song, but this song and this anrrangement only hits different.

I never understood why this anime in particular stood out to me. It wasn't just the art. It wasn't just the action. Watching Tokyo Ghoul, they emphasized how people will fight against you just based on differences. These certain differences that we can't help. And, I know first hand how people can be when you're different, so I was really drawn in by the characters and the things they were saying.
While the ghouls were saying "This is all we eat!" I found myself saying, "This is only who I can be."
We can only be ourselves. This is the one absolute truth that is clear to me.

Ghouls need human flesh to survive as their main source of nourishment, humans defend themself by regrouping in special forces. So There is the one bad group of ghouls who see humans as food and the ones who fight against the urge of eating human flesh.

But, are they evil for acting on their instincts? Are lions evil for eating humans? If no, then how are ghouls evil for succumbing to their nature? The over-arching theme is that they're fighting over differences. This is all they can eat. The creator made it this way in order to show how people will side against you for differences that you can't help! These are differences that society wants/expects you to restrain or annihilate in order to "fit in". Yes, there are two groups of ghouls. Ones who succumb to their nature. And, others who see the worth of humanity who try to not eat LIVE humans. If you were paying close enough attention to the anime(which I'm guessing you weren't) all ghouls eat humans. It's just that ghouls that work in the coffeeshop and a few others eat cadavers instead of live ones. So, to say that those ghouls are more moral by fighting against their urge...their only fighting their urge against live humans.
Tokyo ghoul was never meant to be an action shonen, it's a physiological thriller. It's a character and atmosphere driven show/manga.

I always found this a bittersweet song, but because the endings were fit to each episode, and they could reflect back at you everything that made you sad in that episode, the song just became plainly sad to me, especially when it hit the chorus. But hearing this, I was hit with a completely different kind of feeling, hope. It was beautiful, I felt like it was reaching out and trying so desperately to grasp the light with a will to never give up. I was a little overwhelmed, I almost cried. I had to stop what I was doing, I couldn't go on.

Is it just me or am I the only one who actually LIKES the opening of Tokyo Ghoul 2nd season..? It just has a unconventional time signature with loads of modulation... People dislike what they aren't used to i think xD

Well first season OP set a high standard. That is why people (including me) don't like it. The art is beautiful though. I just wish the song was more... ghoulish?

This song for me represents that nostalgic feeling when you look back at your past when everything was okay. When you had no troubles, when you were naive, when you had all the time in the world but you didnt know this it. You didnt know this would be the best part of your life. And now everything is gone.
And it reminds me that such a time may come back if you work on yourself and learn to appreciate things before they are gone.

Is it me or is it that Tokyo ghoul season 2 songs sounds bit more peaceful than before
I think it suits the second season in my opinion, if the second seasons is going to be anything similar to how the manga went, then it's more appropriate for it to be a bit more sad and toned down as well.
Seryne299 The second season actually isn't following the manga at all. According to the producer of it, it is a new original story line.
Yeah, I know that's why I said if this anime original is anything similar to how the manga went, as in the way it progresses, then the ost is suitable. So far, in the first two episodes there are similarities to the manga as well as new content. Maybe it'll reach the same conclusion, just in a different way

I had to work hard to hold back my tears, listening to this wonderful piano play of a wonderful song.
I love this ending, this anime. People may call it trash just because it's popular, because it's well known. But they don't understand. Tokyo Ghoul for me, is much better than Attack on Titan, although I love Levi-heichou and the setting and idea of AOT, but in this, you just support the humans, u know the titans are not good (even though they are also human, but whatever)
Tokyo Ghoul, u just don't know who's side you're on. You hate and love both sides. They're both right and yet both wrong. It really brings out the ugliness of humans.
Now that I think about it, this is reminding me of Code Geass...
Only reason why people call Tokyo Ghoul trash is because it didn't live up to the absolute brilliance of the manga. I've watched the anime and am up to date with the manga and by no means is it a bad show, I actually enjoyed seeing the different ending that happened in the show however the anime didn't even scratch the surface of what the manga had to offer which left a lot of people disappointed.
+LOtaku I don't think you 'know' what Tokyo Ghoul really is until you've read the manga which captures so much more than the anime.
Season 1 left out huge chunks of information, but was still true to the manga and I enjoyed it and wouldn't mind watching it again, except for the censorship which ruins a lot of it but that's a totally different issue.
Season 2 took a whole different route, ignored the author's incredible psychologically dynamic plot and really complex, fleshed-out characters and made a shit show out of it.
You cannot comprehend the level at which the studio that made this anime fucked up the story of Ken Kaneki and that is precisely the reason why SO many manga fans are angry with the studio and call their anime 'trash', because the season 2 which was supposed to show SO much more than it did, but ended up being a colossal disappointment.
Calling me obsessed with this series would be an understatement. I am in no way shitting on Tokyo Ghoul, the love I have for this series far excels the love I have for literally anyone or anything else, which is kind of sad now that I think about it, but it's the truth.
If you truly enjoyed this series and feel that it means something to you, as I do, then take this advice: Read the manga.

People don't hate Tokyo Ghoul because it's popular, people hate it because it strayed very far from the depiction of the manga. The fact of the matter is that the manga is amazing, but the anime ruined that.

What has animenz learnt from ishter?
Well Animenz improvised a few pieces and wrote one of his own, which I doubt without listening to a bit of Theishter he would have learned. Also he clearly learned how to do a piano duet through him, in fact they both learned.
Since Animenz is more technically skilled it's harder to see what Theishter has "taught" him; however Theishter is more able to express emotion though his playing than Animenz. So really in the mind of most teachers who look at technique sure Theishter learned everything from Animenz; but it's really more complicated than that.

Hide is just one of the CCG members dead. Nothin special about him. Well execpt he was friends with a Ghoul. Still a CCG and a Ghoul. I should have expected Hide to die from Kaneki.
+vince arbis He joined the CCG to actually LOOK for Kaneki. In the anime, you can see him looking at Kaneki's files, the confidential ones with 'eyepatch' on. Is he wasn't a ghoul investigator, he wouldn't have been able to talk to Kaneki in the sewer scene in the manga or the Anteiku scene in the anime. Hide being in the CCG is a huge part of the series, so he is special. Also he isn't a dumbass fite me

Tokyo Ghoul to me is so close to who i am as a person, Kaneki trying to be human while fighting the demon within, sometimes embracing the demon within and then pushing it deep down.

You'll begin at the start and play simple songs, like everyone else does, but some people loses faith, because they think they're bad or so. I play piano now for 6 years and I don't have any regret at all. Only if I see the videos from Ishter I want to often cry in a corner, because he's so good, but remember that he plays piano since he's 13 years old and he's now in his twenties. Learning piano on a pro or advanced level takes definitely a lot of time! :)

Playing piano since your 13 isn't something that makes you good. He is both good at working hard and he's also pretty talented. At least I'd assume so
UnicornHorn I don't think if you start like a year ago that you'll be as good as he is, it's also about time. You have to spend time on playing the piano to become better. Of course you need talent and you've to work hard to come at a high level.
I started playing at the age of 4, though I got my REAL piano teacher in the age of 14 (my dad is a pianist and he taught me how to play until I was 14). Now, a half year later, I don't feel any difference from when I started playing with a teacher (the only thing maybe being the fact that I now can read the f key smoothly as I only could read the g key cause of violin since I was 4).
