Im still pretty new to fly fishing. What floating and sinking lines do you prefer? And do you know any ways to keep the floating line on top? After a while it starts to sink on me.
What floating line are you running? I primarily fish SA lines and don't have a problem with them sinking. All around good floating lines are SA Trout, SA Amplitude Infinity, and SA MPX depending on how your rod will handle the tapers. For Sinking lines in stillwaters I run everything from midge tip and hover lines to Type 8 lines. I think if you could have one sinking line I'd go for either an intermediate line or a seamless or triple density Type 3 or 4. If you have some more specific questions, feel free to follow up. I love talking about lines and gear.
So a rod for dries, one for indicator rig (leech with chironomid?), one for streamers, and one for midge tip? I was at trial lake on saturday and got nothing on indicator or dries.
I usually have 2 floating lines (dries, indicator rigs) and a rod for some sort of sinking line. Right now I have too many spare spools with lines on them and not enough frames, so I'm not set up to have 1 floating and 2 sinking. probably gonna pickup another hydros so more of my sinking lines can have a home at a time.
That’s awesome, I just did the same exact thing last week. I tried catching multi species at each of those. Mostly rainbow and tiger. Great fun. -Randy
I want to diy this trip so bad. Awesome video
LOL the screaming banshee was definitely a good reason to get your fish and run lol
Super fun, great job fellas!
Great to meet you
Were you the one that said hi at Lilly?
@@TroutFlies At Mirror when your crew took a break back at the shore.
Wow that's a lot of people up there. Fun.
It was!

Thanks!
You guys were having so much fun it showed through, love that :). And good job!!
Always nice to add a little challenge to a trip!
What a great challenge and fun time with Jameson!
Yup! We cut it kinda close by spending too much time at some of the early lakes.
Finding a parking spot at every roadside lake was the real challenge.
On a Saturday...

Quality catches as always! 🙌
I was curious, what are some good fins for float tubing? Thanks
I really like my Outcast Power Kick Fins.

Yeah, it was interesting how different some of those lakes fished despite being close by!
Y’all killed this but pls get a net for yourself or keep it on hand for fish handling
Bring your net next time! ❤
I should have. I kept it with the tube instead of transferring it back to the backpack.
