I watch your show because now I’m an owner of a Jeep Cherokee I have 5 Hondas and Toyota but I co signed for someone that didn’t pay so now I have to learn this stuff.
Thank you for your time and effort making this video. It’s been most helpful
I replaced one of those on my ex- girlfriends car it was leaking oil all over the transmission at the same time replaced spark plugs, new fell pro air intake manifold gaskets, is been 2 years no problems. Next problem no heat, actuators for heat are working, I am thinking plugged heater core, I was like you now what in Florida you don't need heat. :-)
Yea these not to bad. Thanks for watching bud. Please thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
Your dropping lots of info. Thanks.
Thanks for watching bud. Please thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
Yeah I've had my share of replacing those😏
They a piece of cake after doing about a couple
Dorman makes one in all aluminum don't know how good it is I replaced one on daughter's minivan just got oem unit
I think you missed one important step prior to dismantling - draining coolant?
Yes, there are steps not showed on video that was done behind the scene. But I would love to hear your take on it.
Beware of new old stock parts of the older revisions of oil filter housings still being sold. I never use a torque wrench when replacing the oil filter housing. Before changing my oil for the first time, I marked the lid and the housing with a white marker. I tighten it the exact same amount so that the marks line up every time I replace the oil filter. This is a foolproof way to prevent damage without using a torque wrench.
Great idea. In some cases FCA would call the parts department and make them destroy all the old revision parts. We just threw away about 5 trailer hitch brand new for some reason.
I HAD TO REPLACE THE VALVE COVER AND SPARK PLUG ON MY 2012 NISSAN SENTRA SR .
Was this a fairly easy job?
@@OnlineMechanicTips was not easy because you had to remove the puzzle frist before can get to the spark plugs and valve cover but was amazing learning experience and I save $500 dollars.
Sup JT!
Love the videos. Thanks for all the help. You’re a life saver bro! Keep pumping these videos out! I subscribed real quick !
It can you give me the torque specs for the housing to the motor. I’m a subscriber FYI
Just about to do this on my 3.6 replacement engine for my wrangler
O my. The wrangler just a tab bit harder simply because it takes a lot to get past the plenium, but im sure you will knock it out the park. Thanks for watching bud
lower sensor is oil pressure and upper sensor is oil temp, coolant temp sensor is on rear corner of left cyl head
I have a 2013 van with 436,ooo Klm’s, changed it only once with an after market one, because I own a auto parts store. I also have grand Cherokee with 98,000, great engines.
Yea just about all the vans will need this done sooner or later. Known problem. And yes the 3.6 are great engines. Thanks for watching bud. Please thumbs up the video and subscribe if not already, thanks
Keep em coming my pentastar is a P.O.S.,10 times in the shop bout to be 11..Great vids JT
What happened to it?
Oooo the list is long..4 rockers, both motor mounts, radiator, 2 ignition coils,on my third battery, and that's just the mechanical/electric side, and my 2016 T&C has less then 80k miles, just got it back for ignition coil ,and having a misfire again less then a week after getting it back
@@Troy-McClure81 Sorry to hear that. I have a 2015 Grand Caravan @ 140k miles. Just regular oil and filter changes, torque converter at around 60k, spark plugs at 120k, and just recently oil cooler o rings at 135k.
@@Troy-McClure81 Can I ask how often do you change your oil? I change it at 8k when driving on highway only. Now that I take a lot of short city trips, I change it at 4k.
@@jandolezal1062 i change when light comes on so usually bout 5k miles,i use mobil 1 extended performance oil and filter, run chevron complete fuel system cleaner, black bottle not gray every 3 months for injectors,i just have a lemon lol
Vendor issues. Customers have to pay to fix it?
I sold my pentastar and bought a 71 charger with a 440
Damn the 3.6 more in the shop then on the road
lol, uhmmm, not true sir...lol..This was just a comback from last year. We now have the new revised updated parts..
Oh ok.
I'm not sure my friend has a 3.6 charger and he has a bad ticking sounds. And they got award for for those engine.
What’s the labor time on that 🤔🤔🤔
Typically 3.0 hours labor but we tend to try and upsell a coolant flush an a oil change also
@@OnlineMechanicTips that sounds bout right ... ever seen a writer delete a rec
Hey man I have a 2016 Chrysler 200 3.6 and I have P0305, changed spark plug, coil and pcv valve and still misfiring at idle
Ok cyl 5 misfire, are you hearing any ticking noise at the rear valve cover? Also have any thing else been replaced? cat convertor, muffler, etc. Also you not subscribed to the channel, can you please thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
@@OnlineMechanicTips no I don’t hear any ticking at rear valve cover and nothing else has been replaced. I hear a hissing sound coming from around the intake manifold, thinking about replacing the lower intake plenum gaskets
@@zackmc832 Can I ask you how are you so sure its a misfire and not a rough idle? Also, because you have replaced the secondary ignition., you may be left with simply doing a compression test. The reason I asked about ticking noise because you very well could have a broken rocker are causing the valves not to open and close properly. You may have no choice but to remove that rear valve cover and look at the valve train parts.
@@OnlineMechanicTips I scan the car for codes after the check engine light came on and only P0305 comes back as a permanent code
@@zackmc832 Then you dont have much of a choice, That valve cover has to be removed to get a closer look at the valve train. You may find a broken rocker arm in cyl 5
Anyone found a high quality replacement part, or a good price on OEM??

I had the same leak on my 2015 Grand Caravan (newer style oil filter) as well. It was at around 135k miles. I replaced just the o rings at the bottom of the base and that fixed it. I always use torque wrench to not overtighten the plastic housing. What are your thoughts on aftermarket oil filter housings compared to Mopar OEM? Do you have any experience with them? Would you recommend installing aftermarket if the factory one ever goes bad?
I have yet to install a non oem mopar adapter housing. I had 1 customer got 1 off ebay for me to put on, but my helper ended up doing it. Thanks for watching bud
