It's one thing to focus on being able to articulate a complex sequence, then having 20 takes to chop together until it works. It's another thing to develop a fluid technique as a solid foundation and then ask it to articulate anything you demand.
That is the craziest fingering. It's like you use the knuckles of your fingers to play with and not your finger tips. Don't get me wrong; it's sounds great. It's just something I'd never seen before.
If I can play like u,I will create my new Prog.metal band to appreciate that skill. But,,just in my dream right 😅😊,,k stay safe and stay healthy bruh.✊🏾😎🖤🔥
How do u drill for speed? Or how do u recommend for beginners? Ive been playing for 5 years but most of that practice has been fingerstyle and difficult chord shapes, i feel like i need to get better with a pick
Experiment. After 2 years of focusing most of my energy on solely picking, I realized the technical explanation can only get you so far. I watched almost all of Troy Grady’s videos with nothing to show for it until I just decided to keep messing around. At first, I thought I wasn’t trying hard enough so I kept trying the same technique over and over, for hours a day. I tried speeding the metronome up, starting at top speed. Nothing. One day I decided to just start experimenting because it occurred to me that maybe my technique was wrong. It all just came to me one day. Maybe it was after years that all the hard worked showed, but I genuinely think it was good fortune and luck. Once you get it, you’ll know it. Do the picking movement that feels smoothest to you and start from there. Then play sixteenth notes on the metronome starting from 100 bpm. Keep pushing it to where you can barely get it. When you can barely get it, is where you keep going. Your hand will adjust if you keep at it and then you will get faster and faster. You will always go faster than you think you can
I disagree although I’m not saying that Stephen is better. I feel as though when you get to that level of skill you’re able to play anything. For example I think Stephen could play this, and that Josh could play what Stephen plays. Maybe both are better at their individual styles than the other but at their level it’s only style that makes them different, not who’s “better”
i knew it was over the second i saw him hold his pick like that
You play it better than they do 🤯
He sure does.

You inspired me to appreciate alternate picking and practice it to the limit
You're like the Guthrie Govan of our generation. I'm convinced that you can play anything you want. That's amazing.

Where the hell is your signature guitar🎵
whats going on with the highest frets?
They're scalloped.
Scalloped fretboard.
You need to hook up with Polyphia
this part was better than tim henson himself
Bro, please share some recordings tips. It sounds so clear & beautiful tone❤️👌. I am unable to get such sound in garageband
Flawless victory!!! The best guitar player out there, even better than Stephen Taranto.
