    I see you have addressed the cooling issue in other comments but it really is fairly necessary. The ECU will pull timing when it gets too hot. I'm stage 2 single pulley and got the heat exchanger right away at stage 1. I've done several pulls and digs with dual pulley 8.5s. I've beat them every time. We determined the only reason is their ECUs were pulling power. All other mods were similar temp the first time was 75f and the second day we did it was mid 80s. Anyway nice job we have the same color! Cheers 🍻

      Thanks! IMO, It depends what your'e after. The RS4 will quickly become a classic and something worth collecting in the future. However, the B8+ S4 stock is just as quick and has a lot more potential for power mods...probably won't be something most people hang on to long term though (that said, this one is never leaving my collection)

    I've the same motor, just it's the 2.0tfsi Quattro. She's beautiful with those wheels. Very nice. See the bottom of the middle grill and the air guide at the bottom of the bumper, get the gloss black, following the contour of the bumper, I did it on mine, it looks sweet, makes the grill look like it goes all the way to the splitter point. Just a recommendation. But take a photo of your car and do it on ms Paint, you'll see what I mean. Again, very nice motor 💪

      Thanks! Yes I have the APR TCU tune, APR cooling and AWE track exhaust. With dual pulley, you definitely need to do the TCU and Cooling. Exhaust is up to you - I know someone who is running dual pulley on a stock ehxuast...total sleeper. Granted, might not make quite the same power.

      @@mben1072 yes, I mean the heat exchanger for the supercharger. Lots of companies out there make cat back systems and which one just comes down to preference on sound. with dual pulley, the cats are known to burn up, so you may have to install test pipes or high flow cats. Whats this about cooling issues? Im looking to put a stage 1 tune on my b8.5 soon, but I dont want to screw my car up. Anyone willing to explain?

    • @TylerKicera
      @TylerKicera  5 років тому

      Stage 1 tune only should be fine without additional cooling (do it at your own risk). Dual pulley setups generate high enough EGTs that can damage the cats if exposed long enough. Cooling helps lower IATs which in turn limit the EGTs, so it’s important when running that kit.

      APR is running a sale through the end of the month. $549 for the pulleys and belt + $249 for the upgrade from Stage 1 software to Stage 2 (upgrade for less than $800). You'll save about $175 over the regular price. They do recommend upgrading the heat exchanger - IMO depends on whether you plan to track it or street drive it. I haven't done that yet and haven't had issues. I have the pulley removal tool I'll sell for $150 shipped ($200 new). Just DM me if interested.
