From what I have learned, the terms of carnivore, herbivore and omnivore refer to what a creature mostly eats but can be confusing due to the stereotype of absolutes... an omnivore eats anything but a carnivore that eats vegetation like bears or red pandas are still a carnivores... it doesn't become a sorta carnivore... where as a deer that eats a bird is still a herbivore, not a sorta herbivore. But it really depends on the resources available in the environment, every creature is technically omnivorous if we take it at fact that they can eat both meat and vegetation, but they can't permanently live on something there body finds hard to digest, however if over a long period of time they were forced to be on such a diet surely they would adapt to mostly eat that source of food. On the other hand there are probably a lot of specialised species that fit the absolutes perfectly.
To the people who hunt red pandas... I hope you get eaten alive by a hippo, while getting crushed by an anaconda, while getting stung by hornets, while getting shit on by a bird. Hunting for anything other than survival (food, safety, conservation) is abhorrent IMO.

Do you know where do they really belong? They are state animal of Sikkim, Indian state in Himalaya. They are found in that state only if not mistaken and are extremely endangered. Please elaborate on your studies
