This gen is the sleeper gen. Nothing after the generation with X n all them would compare and everyone now days currently isn’t doing anything too amazing. I think the next gen will be the next big one. Music as a whole on standby until another real super star emerges
I really think Cole Bennett not putting on for new artists, everyone thinking that once they feature on someones song they gives them too much "clout", also no one shows face on socials with other people is what killed the current underground scene.

Just a small comment about “getting someone out the military” that is legally not possible. How do I know? I’m in it. There are rare cases on getting out before contract but an artist does not have the power to persuade the federal govt and DoD to take someone who signed a contract out of the services.
I haven't been paying attention to rap in general tbh. Been looking solely at alt rock recently. Some decent bands i can mention that deserve more credit if anyone wants to hear my picks. Edit: so you guys wanted my list. Lemme oblige. So first I would like to mention that some of these are somewhat more well known while others are more obscure. There will be a few bands you've probably heard of. Starting off I'd like to bring up a more obscure band. I'm not sure if they still make music, but they are good nonetheless and they pay homage to 90s era bands like Nirvana, the smashing pumpkins, and Weezer. Kim normal. Definitely worth checking them out of you like to hear a more authentic, diy style. Next is a band called pretty vicious. But don't get it twisted, it doesn't take anything from the music. My personal favorite pierce the veil songs are hell above and pass the Nirvana. They're very popular in the alternative scene of warped tour and whatnot, however I still think they deserve more recognition than they get. Next is another obscure one. It's not so much a band as it is a solo artist though. You probably know him. He makes rap music with a punk rock style and a very futuristic, cyberpunk style sound. Nascar Aloe. He's pretty popular in the underground, but I think he deserves more recognition and he still counts as obscure because he only has a few hits and they are barely hits outside of the underground. He's far from mainstream. Next is another more well known band. It's a hot take to even mention them but I'm a risk taker and I have many hot takes. Falling in reverse. Yes. That falling in reverse.
