That truck is really nice and has what I call a Bently Grill. The company seems to like what you do for them and are going out to make you feel really good about working there. @@cricketfilms1879it's 100% not his. And it's not custom. I don't think he even knows what custom means. All those exact models have the same exact features. Plus he works for the company. So most ppl don't have the money to buy a brand new truck, just to drive it for 1 company that doesn't pay no where as good as if you owned your truck and was a contractor not an employee

If you haven't figured out to spin the passangerseat around yet, I think you need to pull the seat far forward, even maybe lean the backrest a bit forward so it doesn't get stuck in the wall or refrigerator
I remember how bummed Alex was when he started with the Freightliner. It's nice to see a company take care of it's employees.
He’s an influencer for the company… why wouldn’t they give him preferential treatment? The question is why don’t you recognize this kind of treatment isn’t for every employee

The shore power is for when you are around a place that has power hooked up to the grid or go to a campsite to keep your batteries charged without needing to idle or run an APU. The other plug looks like an engine block heater

There are two types of regen, Passive and Active. Passive is when you are driving at speeds above 50 mph. Active is when the tractor is parked. It won't regen below 50 mph; in other words idling around at 5 mph is going to kick it out of Active regen.

You should file a case with management , we have been driving for years and don’t get good equipment. How does he get it when he hardly drives !! I will be pushing for a lawsuit .

@georgephilip6216 Okay, seriously? I have a 2024 FL after just 3 months of working for GP. I can get you not liking GP, so don't work here. Plain and simple, actually. The dispatchers are great, the pay is great, and everything in between. So what if they treat Alex a little bit better? He does great work for the company and also pushes the limit, showing off how good GP is. If not for him, I wouldn't even be at GP today. I don't like it when other truckers put each other down.

It’s amazing how well they treat the UA-camrs. I noticed that when I worked there. They all got special treatment all cuz they have a UA-cam channel.
Cause if they have a big following they could impact the company
@@godussop391 I know. I worked there when they had several UA-camrs working for them. They all got special treatment. Everyone of em. Even though they all left within a year says snuff about them. It’s free advertising for GP. Still a great company to work for. Had no complaints!!!

Congratulations Alex! I remember when I bought a 1994 Kenworth T600 brand new! It was an amazing tractor! Mine had a double sunroof. A 3406 E Caterpillar engine 435 horsepower and a Fuller 13 speed over drive manual transmission. The cab was on air ride back then. I was leased to Warren Transport out of Waterloo Iowa. I’m happy for you! You will definitely enjoy that! Mark in Iowa.

Dude, FYI shore power is not to supply power to grill with from the truck..
You plug into the shore power to power the electric accessories inside the truck like your fridge.
That way when you're on home time and the truck is off for a couple days the shore power keeps everything running in the truck (like the fridge) and charges the batteries. It's like plugging a cellphone charging cable into your cellphone.
Good luck finding a shore line cord to plug into it. One side of the plug goes up and down and the other goes side to side like this ( - l ). You Will probably have to get a chord from the Kenworth dealership for shore power.
There is also an engine block heater plug beside the shore power. You plug it in to electric to keep the engine block and the diesel warm to make starting the truck easier in cold climates.
Very nice truck! My company also just upgraded me to a new 2024 Kenworth T680 sleeper from my 2019 Volvo and i've only worked there 10 months. My first Kenworth. They are way nicer than the Freightliners and Volvos that i'm use to. Congratulations man.

Good ole Electrolux 😆that’s how they parked the trailers next door at Macy’s too.. had to drag it out because you couldn’t get in to crank up the landing gear or find the shag driver
Sometimes for the fifth wheel release button you have to hold it down to release.. it’ll beep a few times, then you hear it disengage

I had a '23 Kenworth t680 that was very much the same as what you have now, and it's really one of the only things I consistently miss from driving OTR, it's a beautiful and incredibly comfortable truck. Freightliner really doesn't even come close to the feel of driving the Kenworth. But, my current Freightliner day cab is worth being home daily and off on weekends I guess...

I just got a brand new Kenworth also and the Jake brake doesn't work below 35 mph so you might want to get your shop to lower it with the computer. I got mine lowered to 10

Congrats! After switching from a 23 KW at CFI to a Freightliner, here the only thing the kenworth wins is aesthetics I’ll take a Freightliner any day!

You need to put the truck on high idle when your parked so that it doesn’t need to regen so much
Burns more fuel but it’s worth it, you would still be better if you installed a APU or another type of generator, a 10,000 dollar investment is better than having to throw away money in repairs.

41:10 So usually Alex, before you push the button, you need to pull the red knob and push backwards a little to release tension in the kingpin. Then set your brakes, then push the fifth wheel release button. Then just lower your bags and creep forward.
His 90 day trainer never told him that trick...
