    Damn, you can hear Steve's bass perfectly in this version. They were freakin' amazing. So ahead of their time, this is SO Heavy Metal it is almost illegal

      @@lydia1804a supposedly he didn’t like the flames on the back and the people backstage agreed not to use them, then as soon as they started playing they activated them. He was livid since the start of the song, you can actually tell by his face

    This is just classic Metal...during this time Sweet waived off being pop..they were featured in Metal HAMMER guitar mags..and others...Andy Scott one of the true masters using A Gibson 335....Led Zeps favorite song at the time was Ballroom Blitz...many bands in the mid eighties tried to copy them...you cannot copy a SUPERGROUP that The Sweet was.....Brian Connolly best front man in the 70s...

    Such a very very very underestimated band Mick tucker one of the most underrated drummers ever and Brian’s voice is just genius Steve’s bass lines are up there too,and Andy’s song writing goes on for ever in love is like oxygen plays a mean riff too
    Sweet and slade two of the most influential bands of the 70s and 80’s

    Andy and Brian make me smile...they looked like they were having fun!!! I loved it. I hate that Steve had to walk off but if someone was disrespecting him...I can understand why he did walk off. I love all of them!!! I've never heard this song in my life but I love it!!!!

    due to bad luck and poor management this band were not up there as one of the all time greats.Perhaps reading all the comments on you tube on Sweets tracks this has now been realised..and rightly so.RIP BRIAN AND MICK,Thx for the pleasure youve brought to millions of music fans

      It seems the worst thing that happened is deterioration of Brian. Having to change the lead vocal seems more of a problem than replacing guitar or drums. Personal problems and ill fate messed things up for them pretty early on it seems.

    I've got this on the B side of my 45 single of Fox On the Run. Funny, I can't find it like this anywhere else. This song wasn't included on Desolation Boulevard until the 2005 re-release as a bonus track. Even there it lists it as the B side to The 6 Teens as some have commented here.

      He was annoyed about the silver streamers blowing around in rehearsals - producer said "ok we won't use them when we film" but he did - so Steve was pissed off and walked off. The band clearly thought it was funny though.

      The A Sides were always (up until 1976 or so) given to the Record Producers, and the band got the B Sides to show what they REALLY sounded like.

      Because, not for the first time, he was being a mardyarse! There were two massive egos in that band and he was one of them ... but luckily it was a backing track, so he wasn't missed ;)

    I hear shades of other Sweet songs in this one, most notably "White Mice" from the Give Us A Wink album. Very cool! I actually think it's hilarious when Steve bails less than 2 minutes in.😆

      True, and thank God. Lollipop Man was a hideous song. One of the VERY few songs they recorded that I hate. This song is SO good! Love it!

      @@leosword7142 No, that was Elton John. The Sweet did one called Jeannie. Had a bit of a country feel to it. Had a banjo.

      @@agoogleuser4443 my mistake you are right. Its must be the only time there was a banjo in any sweet recordings. Not sure if it was sweet playing or session musicians though. Rather catchy early song one of the better ones. I can't believe they didn't trust them to play in the early recordings.

      @@leosword7142 I agree. They were playing live concerts, so they obviously played their own instruments. Not like the Archies who were basically a made up band, so to speak. Especially true of Mick since the Musik Laden tapes prove he had some mad drumming skills. I feel like the music industry did that to lots of bands unnecessarily back then though.

      the fan thing blowing the strands around behind them, he didn't like it , thought it looked cheap and silly, argued with the producers who finally said they would not use it..but when filming began, they did anyway..that's what I read somewhere..
