With how often Malcomb says things like 'we miners must stick together', there's a part of me hoping Gopher goes for the reverse in the rogue space pirate playthrough. A guy who openly resented being a miner, hated every minute of it, and has open contempt for miners once he can finally break free.
Epic space combat there at the end, that was very effective to boost to get away, reverse while shooting and recharging shields, then reengage. Good job.
I believe that while shooting the way u do without targeting u r taking out the grave drive which only stops them from warping away during battle. However if u start with targeting mode that time u take to take out grave drive would be used to take out shields and engines which would end the battle with that ship faster so u can move on to next ship to battle. I know u have gotten use to the other way so it won’t feel right but it’s just a thought. I love watching your series! Ty.
@@zuzoscorner Maybe they're saving it for shattered space. Im leaning toward lazy tho. I've played 500 hours of SF. I really like it but like it's the exact same quality game as Skyrim. Its one of the reasons I don't like him. His husband died 20 years ago and he's not bothered looking back through his old messages until now? Not once? Then he starts trauma dumping on you, who he's only just recently met and asking for money to pay legal fees for his investigation. He's easily in his mid to late 40s, then there's my 18-19 year old character fresh out of highschool, who he pulled away from baby's first real job into this constellation business, and is asking ME for money? Then as thanks he goes on long sappy rants about how great we are as a team, yeah right buddy...
I don't know if I will ever understand why people joust enemy ships (charging straight at their guns) instead of flying around and going for their engines or picking off a specific ship before the rest can surround them.
Im curious how far off the episode where you knuckle down and spend all that money you're holding onto on ship upgrades is. Your current weapon loadout is basically as effective as your starting loadout on the frontier which at this point in the game is far too light to handle fights effectively. Which as I'm sure you know now is why you're consuming ship parts like a kid with candy on Halloween. I know you've already gone ng+ and beyond by now so really I'm just curious to see you mess with the ship builder since you've barely touched on it in this playthrough in detail, typically looking through the "upgrade" menu when at landing pads of cities, though maybe you have lots and it just gets cut from the footage, idk. I'm enjoying the series, even if I do get as frustrated as you are in those space fights just watching them 😉
Making? You can't craft weapons in this game. You can only upgrade them with mods. And you require certain skills first. Then you need to research the mods. Then you need the components for the mods. I pretty much had the most upgraded weapons I could get more or less all the way through this play through :)
@@GophersVids You could replace the lasers and emp weapons with particle beams and deal much heavier damage. Having 3 types is not mandatory. I have 6 of them on the Star Eagle and it just rips through everyone in seconds and the ship is still class A. Did the same with the frontier but can't remember how many it had.
seriously? dilusional or just going for cute? perhaps if you just picked up those dropped weapons and "fixed" them you wouldn't have to shoot a robot 10 times to drop it - too boring to watch anymore but you do you
@@scathson *"seriously? dilusional or just going for cute?"* - Must be delusional because I am not sure what I said that was wrong. *"perhaps if you just picked up those dropped weapons and "fixed" them you wouldn't have to shoot a robot 10 times to drop it"* - Weapons don't break in this game mate. You don't have to fix them. I don't think you understand how this game works at all. You have to trust me on this, I was pretty much using what I believed to be the best weapons that I had. If I missed one in particular, I am curious as to which, but don't think there were many. But it doesn't really matter much anyway. Ground combat was not really much of a problem compared to ship combat. And it just got easier and easier (apart from some particularly tanky enemies). *" - too boring to watch anymore but you do you"* - Well that's OK. If you're not enjoying the content, I understand. But I am not sure what that's got to do with the weapons that I am using.
I got to ask, WTF dude, why would you accelerate TOWARDS 4 enemies when you outranged them? The idea is continue in reverse while whittling down their numbers while they can't hurt you. Oh and your weapon loadout makes no sense if that's the style of battle you want to do but to be honest you need a better ship. HINT Do the Secret Outpost aka Mantis quest.
Get out of range, let shield recharge, fly back in and try to pick one off. It's a pretty effective strategy, especially if there are objects to maneuver around. Works best with an upgrade A class ship because of the speed, but you can still do it with a good C class ship too. And yes, I definitely needed better weapons and a better ship. I think the first 1/3 of this let's play was basically a non stop search for a ship that I liked and wanted to upgrade. I won't spoil it for you though.
@@GophersVids Thanks for the reply. Your method will work if your weapons and shields are up to it but at the moment yours aren't up to it, shield is a little low but adequate it's the weapons.
@@1300BlueStar This method works more or less in all circumstances as long as you have a ship that's fast enough and you have the engine skills to boost a lot. Although you probably need to max out engine skill to really make it work well. Better weapon are absolutely a good idea, especially particle beam weapons. But even with the crap weapons on the starter ship you get in NG+, this technique can work all the way through to the end of the game because it's also damned fast :)
