- Hi all, this is part 2 of our Cook Islands fishing series. In this video my wife & I go fishing on Akura Fishing Charters in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
The plan was to troll lures, do some jigging at the FADS, and topwater near the reefs for GT followed with a bit of bottom bashing / reef fishing using bait as well.
The weather was absolutely perfect and it was a truly spectacular day's fishing... seeing the humpback whale mother & calf was just the icing on the cake!
Altho the fishing was hard going we managed to catch a few local reef species like coral trout, cod and snapper/bream looking fish.
