Had to stop halfway through your session and go do some solo RPGing myself. Thanks to your inspiration I had a great session, epic battle, dangerous traps whose nature only became apparent as my characters worked on it and an ending scene that allowed for some fun role-playing as the characters did someone a great kindness. Thanks for the inspiration!
Ironsworn seems perfect for prepping DnD scenarios and fleshing out NPCs, the perfect GM tool. I bought it + delve just for that, can't wait for the books to arrive!
Interesting question… I took it off the shelf a few months ago to work with Delve and then w ended up playing Mork Borg instead… other rule systems seem more intuitive to me than Ironsworn, much as I think it is an extraordinary design and concept. You?
@@GeekGamers01 I’m still waiting for my copy along with the SF version. But I have a feeling it’s going to be too complex for me, and the rules will get in the way of my fun. I’m looking forward to checking it out though.
DogCurio Thank you so much for the message. We are doing the best we can under the circumstances but GG is in New York City so it’s tough. Very slowly attempting to film something for the channel. Hope you are well too wherever you are.
OK, forgive me for being reeeeeeeaally slow here. @16:10, you rolled a d6 and a d10 to simulate rolling a d30. My brain is trying VERY hard to figure out the number combinations and such with those two die that would give an actual d30 result. To top it off you came up with a "13" for a combined d6 value of 4 and a d10 value of 3, but used the book's chart result of 11-12. What am I missing?
I may have misread the table. Can't be sure on that w/o going home to see the book and watch the vid. As to a d30: there are a bunch of ways to get to that but it boils down to a d10 and a d6 and with the d6 you decide: if you roll 1-2 you add nothing; 3-4 add 10; 5-6 add 20 (or reverse that, adding 20 for 1-2; and nothing 5-6).
@@GeekGamers01 the roll is not a d30, the d00 is split between the domain and the theme (for features) and those two with a general table for reveal danger. Great videos.
Thanks for the question. First off, I don't think solo RPG needs to involve extended writing... I don't write at all beyond making character sheets and noting down items... Second, not sure how much you've explored my channel but I have hundreds of videos on all aspects of solo RPG including demos of specific games; vids on general topics like character creation and NPCs, and general gaming advice. The first vid most people start with is "Easy Ways to be Your Own GM," which is here: ua-cam.com/video/9GBPTec5TZA/v-deo.html After that, you might want to just look at the most popular vids on my channel. If you learn by reading, I'd recommend my SOLO GAME MASTER'S GUIDE.

Well that's an awesome comment to read! Thanks for sharing that and so glad that happened. :)
Love this Channel, you're a gem
Very nice indeed. Your first Ironsworn vid is the one that introduced me to the game.

Do you ever find yourself returning to Ironsworn these days? Do you ever think that maybe it's a bit too complicated?

Thanks for the review. Ive since bought it and this is the best tool for solo so far. Amazingly easy and stimulating.
Glad you enjoy it and I totally agree. It's a wonderful system/resource for other systems too
@@GeekGamers01 thank you for the find. The challenge is wanting to be surprised playing solo, and it's so good at it.
Yes I used it for a scifi setting just for the heck of it and it got flowing.
emveeay Yes I agree!
emveeay I haven’t tried it substantially yet in other settings but that is definitely on my To Do list
Hi Geek Gamers. Love your channel and watch it religiously. Hope you are well as I have been waiting with anticipation for your next video

Yo, where can I get a Geek Gamers dice tray?!
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting!
Thanks so much I really appreciate that.
example: treat “companion” as as a spider that keeps on stalking the character?
What about the Spider companion? What happened to it? Poor guy just up and took off on his own adventures....

I got goosebumps when the commoner was revealed to be your brother! I love this game.
Jimmy Gunter Your comment needs a spoiler alert. :)
Glad you enjoyed the vid
Out of curiosity , what was that playing card deck you used for the path and spider companion?
Time stamp?
20:51 That is the Asset Deck (officially printed, or you can get the print and play pdf of them and print them yourself).
I really like the idea of solo RPGing but I can never get very far. I guess writers block?
Does this community have any guidance?
