Darlene, I'm retired now, but years ago I was a 'behind the scenes' intercessor in our church. Because I was on custodial staff I had keys for the church and often went in late evenings and just walked and prayed. One day I found a Hillsong CD in the sound booth and started it playing in the background as I prayed. That CD was a revelation, and became a sort of anthem to my prayer times. I can't tell you how much your worship music effected my life and ministry, but I just wanted to say thank you.
Your music got me into a lot of trouble in high school. I was considered the rebel in my childhood church because I loved this kind of music. I was reprimanded, treated ugly, told I was “taking a dump” on the piano by playing the way I did, and was eventually put before a huge group of youth while we discussed the “dangers” of contemporary Christian music. Guess what? I’m still praising the Lord. I love the hymns, I love the contemporary. It’s all for Him. I wish some of us would learn that sooner. I have always appreciated the blessing of who you are for the Kingdom.
In 2016, I had the immense honor of personally thanking Darlene Zschech for dedicating her life to the Kingdom and to worship. Although she wasn't properly honored by Hillsong, we know that God sees everything, and her reward will be in Heaven. Her legacy is irreplaceable, free from controversies or corruption, reflecting the sincerity of her heart. This pure heart shines through in every note of her worship. Darlene, you are an inspiration to all of us, and your music continues to bring us closer to God. I can't wait to hear your new album "Testament" and be blessed once again by your incredible anointing.
24 years ago I was sitting in a women's shelter listening to Shout to The Lord and I asked God to show me something in the bible, to speak to me. I opened up Romans 8 vs 35-39, and that is when Jesus entered the room, wrapped me in His arms and I sobbed and dropped to my knees as I met my Lord and my Saviour. Your Shout to The Lord album was so foundational in my beginnings, and I can't wait to celebrate Testament with you ❤

Shout to the Lord has united the Church all over the world. I remember the joy of introducing it to a Salvation Army congregation in India in 2006 and joining in joyous worship in an orphanage church in Uganda in 2010. It is still sung in our church in country Western Australia. My Jesus, my Saviour. Lord, there is none like You.
I grew up in a Presbyterian church and my mother was a pianist and later became their pipe organist. When I was little I would go with her to practice… there is nothing like the vibration and bass sound of the pipes… that was my beginning to loving music and percussion. Many years later as my walk in my faith evolved, I was attending an Assemblies of God church and the pastor was a musician and his wife was my choir director. It was 1999 and that was my first introduction to your music, and to the Holy Spirit. In those pure lyrics and in those deep Australian drums I could feel the heartbeat of God once again. Worship music strengthens me like nothing else. Thank you for being faithful yourself, and as for this person’s life, it has made a profound difference and kept me on my path. This introduction is so beautiful and it moved me deeply. I look forward to your new project! You’re such a blessing, much love from Alabama, USA. ♥️

I received Jesus in 1998 and one morning, in a hotel room during a prayer conference weekend, my Aunt was playing your shout to the LORD cd. I was busy talking to my cousins and wasn't even paying attention at first to the music gently playing but those songs of yours could not be ignored. Yes, of course, it was your beautiful voice and beautiful delivery of powerful lyrics but ALSO, it was the anointing of the Holy Spirit on your genuine worship that grabbed hold of my heart, soul, and spirit that day. It's easy to worship the LORD through your music because of His anointing on you. So many songs of yours take just a few notes, a few lyrics, and I'm on my face before the LORD sobbing. Thank you for all you have gone through (for all you have surrendered to Jesus) to have the anointing you have. Thank you for putting words and music to seasons of my life where I couldn't even put into words what my heart's cry was to the LORD. The Holy Spirit just takes over when you sing and THAT is gold.
