@1st_Harmonic Maybe this may help you with your quandary as to the meaning of the word "Glory"; Oxford English provides two definitions that are most commonly applied:.
noun; .high renown or honour won by notable achievements:
"to fight and die for the glory of one's nation"
or noun; magnificence or great beauty:
"the train has been restored to all its former glory".
I have no idea where you found; "of goodness truth healing blah, blah, blah". This does sound rather contrived, as if an attempt to pervert the meaning of the word.
It is sad indeed that there is such a thing as dyslexia. Learning to recognise words and associate then with their corresponding phonetic intent can be extremely distressing for even the most brilliant of minds. I was not aware that it impacted into map reading and symbolism as well. Thank you for sharing.

Great to see this series return!
Half of me is fascinated to learn more about the origins of the mythology that controlled my life for many years. The other half is still saying "I saw God's butt!" in a very juvenile way. Both approaches are therapeutic. Thanks Brandon!

Hello Brandon and greetings from Ireland. I recently found your channel, and I have been binge watching. I've been an atheist since the age of fifteen, I am now in my sixty-six years, and I have not heard or seen anything in all of those years to convince me of the existence of any of the multitude of proposed "gods". I started reading the bible around the age of ten, and it's one of the major reasons why I became an atheist. I have researched other "holy books " on different belief systems, and they are not convincing. I have been aware for many years that yahweh is a member of the Canaanite mythological pantheon. Your videos are very insightful, and thank you for uploading them.

10:17 and not only was Yahweh molded like many other gods from the time period, but he originated as merely a storm god from a huge pantheon of gods under the thumb of one more dominant god. I really think the importance of understanding how this god originated and how not-unique it actually is in comparison to other gods from that time period we now consider silly, is undersold, because one apologetic you sometimes hear is that the Bible story was just so unique and this God was such a unique concept that it must be real because humans during that time period had never come up with that before
Because if this god came about just like those other gods, what makes this one real and the others fake? Because its yours/ours?

      John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

@@justice8718 Deuteronomy 21, ”10 When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the Lord thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, 11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; 12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; 13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife. 14 And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.” Same God and same Bible.
Also, I don’t think “something cant come from no nothin’!” Is an actual response to anything I said about your god not being special in its attributes or origin.

Uh yes there are for example stars being created and destroyed (supernova explosions) by the universe itself all the time (relatively speaking within timespans of millions/billions of years). However to such events we only have the photon evidence as due to their vast distance from us we do not observe them in real time. This contradiction is further underscored with creation being "finished" and subsequently God resting on the 7th day. Gen 2:1-3: Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. The host has the dual meaning of angels and or stars and in this context I think it meant stars.
And don't try to pass the buck by having God invisibly creating life giving stars while the Devil also invisibly creating destructive disasters. The problem of evil is a natural problem not a supernatural one.
Oh btw the earth (as well as the sun in theory) can be moved with sufficient enough technology. There's a Chinese scifi movie about just that called The Wandering Earth. Psalms 104:5 He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
I think it's time to upgrade (transfiguration part 2?) Earth Jesus into Space Jesus.

Light was fire, which warmed and cooked food and the only tool that humans alone mastered. Darkness was the night full of stalking predators, the blackness at the edge of the campfire, it was the unknown that could hide any threat, where the lights in the sky placed themselves, there before the greatest light, the Sun, entered the world, fleeing its presence, and waiting until that light left at the end of day. Its easy to see how light and dark could be reduced to human characteristics of 'Friendly' and 'Frightening.' Simpleminded people love simple ideas, and those seem to be the ones most in love with the worst interpretation of religions.

It's really weird to me as a pagan because, as migraines and photosensitivity run in my family, I naturally find most comfort in deities that are represented by darkness or who live in darkness.
And this means that most people will just assume I'm doing edgy devil worship and I'm cursed. In reality it's just the migraines

It’s sobering that an Eternal, N-Dimensional, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent Being is apparently unable to reveal Itself to Moses without killing him?
When believers are asked for evidence of the existence of this Being, they ultimately are unable to do so, retreating into appeals to the mystical
In terms of turning the back, I thought of the memorable scene in ‘Gladiator’ where Commodus asks the Gladiator’s name, and the Gladiator turns his back. Furious at the disrespect shown him, Commodus demands to know the Gladiator’s name - he turns, removes his helmet so that his face is seen and declares, ‘My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legion… ‘ Commodus is terrified at the revelation.
Is God so terrible that full revelation would be unbearable?

      Naked buttocks in the bible.
Isaiah Chap. 20. Here Sargon (supreme head = Sun at the- beginning of the year) sent Tartan (tall person- Saul = the winter Sun) to fight against Ashdod or Azotus (winter). At the same time, the Lord (Jahveh) told Isaiah (the New Year Sun) to go and take off the sackcloth from his loins (his middle = spring equinox), and "put off thy shoe from thy foot." Isaiah did so, walking naked and barefoot three years (months, from winter solstice to spring equinox), for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and Ethiopia (winter). In like manner, the king of Assyria (equinoctial Sun) bore away the Egyptian's prisoners and the Ethiopian's captives (winter days) naked and barefoot, just as they were. Even their buttocks (the end of the year) were uncovered, to the shame of Egypt - the Earth every year comes out of winter naked, and winter ought to be ashamed of it.
