- In this video, I'm going to take you through Helium mining (HNT). After a few months of waiting, I've finally received my Bobcat Miner 300 (helium hotspot miner).
What is Helium (HNT) Network?
Helium (HNT) is a decentralized blockchain-powered network for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Launched in July 2019, the Helium mainnet allows low-powered wireless devices to communicate with each other and send data across its network of nodes.

👋 @@tariosultan question if you know, when installing an aftermarket antenna does it really matter what antenna I select, Dbi and meters in the update hotspot antenna details? I don't want to change it and lose my witnesses and start all over if it really doesn't make a difference, thanks.
I've watched 15 video's until I found yours... By far the best explanation, thank you! I have a question for you if you dont mind. I live in a 2 story house, the plan is to put my antenna outside. I want to use a pole, attach the antenna to the top, approx 25'... I will need to use a 30' wire (planning on the LMR400 wire).... the question is... is this wire to long? Will I lose to much in the transfer? Thanks again for your help!
Longer cable length will reduce the antenna signal strength. Meaning if your antenna is 5.8dBi, and you have a very long cable, eventually the antenna is not actually 5.8, could be 4 or 4.5 (just an example). You can google it, there’s a calculator that calculate your cable length vs antenna strength.
But doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it, based on your description, the elevation is really important and it will get you more witnesses. So definitely worth doing it.
Lastly, you might want to consider grounding too since it’s a single house.

4:57 I just want to add to this, do not under any circumstance do any of the methods mentioned to remember the seedphrase. Always use pen and paper when writing or remembering your seed. If someone gets access to your seedphrase they get access to your helium wallet and all funds in the wallet. Do not store seed-phrases to any wallets online, usb sticks or encrypted drives. only have your seedphrase on a physical piece of paper and write it down in a area without cameras and hide the sheet of paper

@@tariosultan Ah I understand, great video and guide though. That was the only part I wanted to point out since if you write it on paper and secure it in a safe place there is only room left for human error but if it is stored online there can be several reasons. Great video though :)
@Johan Liebert Store the seed on your computer or phone? Or on paper?
I store them into 2 different USB thumb drive or micro SD card for portability (with password protected & encrypted)
then store both in 2 different locations.
on top of that, can also have a paper version just for another layer of security.
definitely don't store it on the cloud.

Great video, having issues for how you defined 'height'. Originally you stated that you should be 4 meters however when you put it the number it was 40? Is this accounting for the floor?
That number is not currently used. So doesn’t have to be that accurate.

You will need to put an order, then they will give you 1hour to make the payment.
So you're paying up front, not after 4-5 months.

Thanks for your previous answer. I have 2 additional questions:
1. Does the antenna and box need to be next to a window or only the antenna?
2. Does it matter how high or low the antenna and box are? I'm in New York City and I have a choice between the 33rd floor or 17th floor, which would be better?
1. Only antenna.
2. Go with 33rd floor. Elevation is important! You’re witness more miners.

How much is it generating?
@@Vic3D thanks Vic. I fired it up 2 weeks ago Thursday. The network went down for a day or two. As of today I have 3.06 HNT. I noticed last week that on the grid it seem to have shifted my location a couple of houses away from me. I just ordered a 10' cable to try to get it higher up in a high window in my bedroom. It's already approx. 5 meters high. This would raise it about 2 more. I hope this will increase my mining rate. My best 2 days appear to be .4 and .55 for 24hrs. I live in what I feel is a very good location. Maybe too many miners in the area not sure how all of it works. Have a great day and if you have any tips I'd be grateful. Thanks and enjoy your day. He has to transfer the miner from his HNT wallet to yours.
You can just get a used one without transfer otherwise all profits still go to him.

Thanks for the video. Best by far. I got "There was an error constructing the Add Hotspot transaction". Tried maybe 30 or 40 times. Got the error every single time. Just wondering if you had any possible solutions. Thanks.
The network is down atm, I'd say try it again in a different time.

Hello, thanks for the great work! Following your tutorial I easily setting up mine. I have a question: so far I have one miner running. The profit is good. I want to buy another one. But I was told by a friend that if you set two or more miners in the same area, the profit will not be doubled or N times. Is that true? You said you have 3 miners. How is the profit compare one and three? Thank you very much!
Correct. The reward scale will decrease because it defeats the purpose of helium network. You want to spread them apart with min 300-350m distance. There seems to be some confusion where I said ‘I have 3 miners’. All these miners are in totally different locations. They’re not at one home.

@@Vekren Eh no profits are dependent on a multitude of factors, its not a plug and play type of thing or comparable since every location and setup is unique. I make about 5dollars a day per device, stop typing gibberish
Can you setup multiple mining in one place? Or you need a certain radius far from other machines?
300-350 distance apart is highly recommended.
How far from each other can I set the 2 for example

Hi, how do I convert all my helium in to cash when I eventually want to withdraw it? Great video btw 😀
Send it to an exchange like Binance and you can either convert to other tokens or cash out there.
So if I buy 2 Bobcats will I make the same on both and essentially double the revenue from mining helium?
If you place them correctly (separate them with 300-350m distance), the rewards fluctuates and really depends on the location.

People do not take screenshots of your 12 or 24 word seed phrases!!! You put your entire helium wallet or any crypto wallet at risk if you do so!

You can still use Bluetooth pairing mode when you use Ethernet.
