Compasses are only good if you know where you are! If you want to carry a compass(I like the idea for a survival kit), you should probably also have topographical maps.
I watched this video three years ago and just wonder if it has changed since then. I have multiple “situation bags” and am continuously changing and upgrading them. There’s a lot of kit in that bag. Lots of it is the same as what I carry.
Love all your videos , I watched your $5000 pack a few years ago and this last year I had started putting together a couple packs and tried to find your video for months final I remembered you had those strap lights and was able to locate you that way. Your wife is a trooper!!! You had her doing jumping jacks on one video!! I about spit out my coffee! I get it you were showing stability but that was too funny. Haven’t seen in new videos. Are you still in the prepper community?
enjoyed this! that bag is awesome. As a former officer for US Chem Co., i would recommend: G1. 2 pair good quality but disposable gloves G2: 2 garbage bags thick several dry wipes O1: 1 neon or orange towel /portable ultra lite weight Awesome job! these won't add much weight. M. always carry 2 nosh 95 "dust"mask with breather tab , but have a high quality prof grade "spray painters" mask w/refills for my big bug out. The M-2GO has saved me a couple of times y have
Thanks for the great ideas. One question: What is the fascination with paracord with fire cord in it? You have a great fire starter kit, so why waste your cordage for starting fires?
Having a bit of spare space in bag is nice. Too much unnecessary stuff for EDC/Get Home. Move stuff to another bag. Ditch: tooblites, pencil sharpener, knife sharpener, fish kit (you're carrying food), some cordage, ranger beads, para-bracelet. Reduce the fire kit greatly. Consolidate trauma stuff into one mini pack. Add a phone charger, hat, cash, list of ph#'s/addresses, map, work gloves, reflective band. Perhaps carry a second, empty plastic water bottle/bag. Have a jacket and good shoes handy.
Duke Makedo to be honest i agree! i see what he is trying to do tho! ive done something similar BUT its all on me, no bag, limited food (emergency rations and breakfast bar) and water, basic first aid kit inc few tablets (diaharea stopper, painkillers, anti histamine) as im in the uk, knives are a no no... mostly! ive got a swiss army knife AND wingman but they are on my belt and hidden. its enough tho.
a lot of these videos I see from people on there edc or get home bags is they could cut so much weight off. I work outside for a living 6-7 days a week in 100 degree weather. I have been doing this for over 15 years straight. I'm telling u cut weight as much as possible. u don't need all those ways to do different things. just use a few different ways to do certain jobs and that's it. I know its nice to have all that gear and multiple ways of doing things but u don't need it in a 72hr pack. most people won't be able to go 72hrs. they will fold because they are not strong enough. what u have to remember that the most important thing is your mental state of mind. the rest will follow when needed. nice pack but cut weight. it will help u in the long run.
I am new to bug out bag pairing and I find your channel extremely useful keep doing what you doing and anybody looking to get into pairing for a bug out bag scenario I extreme recommend this channel
Nice kit. It's very close to the one I have. I think most of us gravitate to similar supplies for our EDC kits over time. PS - tell your wife I am impressed with her fence jumping abilities. I'm not sure I could do that (but I am a LOT older than her).
That's really cool that your whole family is into prepping for emergency situations. My family and friends think i'm crazy when I talk about anything related to bug-out or survival bags.
I think you should add some of those foam like ear plugs, so if you drop something in some nasty water that requires you to dive a little bit you can avoid getting an ear infection.
I'd put the TQ with the rest of the first aid gear in case someone else is using it and if it were me, I'd get a CAT. The SWAT-T isn't the best on the market
Wet ones wipes you can get them at Walmart for a dollar something theres like 10 or 12 wipes in each package cuz sometimes hand sanitizer just doesn't cut it other than that very well done
I would cut down on some of the redundant items and add the following handgun, loaded extra mag, map!! State local and laminated satiate photo map of EO, 55 gal bag, water wind resistant light jacket, hand held com like beofang uv5r which also receives fm, light bivy bag to sleep, small camo tarp for concealment and rain tent, note pad pencil sharpie, head lamp, eye and ear protection, power bar, caffeine like 5 hr energy
Maps are always a Great Idea! We have some in our Vehicle! We also have Bug Out Bags... For my Entire Family.. Kits, Rigs, etc... scattered across the spectrum of Builds and scenarios! We dont covered every single thing and but life flips on its head. This will do the trick. Thank you so very much for chiming in!
Hausch Kurt it is all about personal preferences and needs for a kit like this! But if we can help with ideas! We here at DropForgedSurvival did a good job!
Good volume of kit and well thought out but I can only ask this. If you are away from home and wanting to get back as soon as possible, would you want to stop and be fishing/ snaring game instead of just packing more survival biscuits and getting home as soon as possible? Grey area I know....
Can fully understand that. On the top of my get home bag in the car I have a complete survival belt I use for camping and a folding bike in the boot (trunk). I've been taking out more and more stuff to make it bare bones. Although it's a green army molle bag it has a black rain cover over :) I could rabbit on a lot here lol
A whole lot of stuff for 72 hours, I'd trim that fishing kit back some as wells the fire kit. Maybe a fero rod and a lighter or two ...some hook line and sinkers for fishing. I would suggest a pair of "mechanic" gloves they;rer about 410 or so at Walmart, they're great for protecting you hands from the boo boos you don't expect. add some rubber gloves too for the first aid/ trauma section...put them in the easy to reach area. comfort food ...Ramen noodles beef jerky energy bars or trail mix would serve you better than a ga-zillion ways to start a fire... even so coffee or tea bags ... you're on the right track though. go in the woods or city for a few days with it and just live out of it you'll see right away what you don't need. I do enjoy your enthusiasm.
Ya may want 2 attach a Gas Mask MOLLE Pouch in Coyote Tan Color 2 your EDC Bag 2 store gas mask just in case as well later on recommendably from Elite Survival Systems!
Any chance we can get a link for that bracelet? I tried finding it online, but I only get those Dollar bracelets with nothing but a cord. I'd rather get that one with everything packed.
This is not a criticism just an observation. I don't know where you live but do you get hard snow in the winter because if you do you are going to find it difficult to "bug out " in your car should the SHTF.
Good bag I live n east tn n drive a hr to and from work so I've been trying to put together a cople of E D.C. For my truck n wife's car so if something happens n one of us is out or together this helps
EDC stands for Every Day Carry (Items you carry with you to use on a daily basis). I think what you are talking about is some sort of Emergency Kit (maybe a Get Home Bag). Sorry but people need to use terminology correctly if they want to be understood (and if they want to be accessing the correct information).
Great video. Nice versatile pack and another very good kit. I recently purchased some Vanquest packs for med kits. I hadn't ever owned one before. I'm very impressed with their quality and construction. I'm going to put them through some test and I'm sure I'll buy more in the future. Thanks for the tips and info.
I dont know if that bag goes on your shoulders as well but I feel like the bag limits your mobility by being on your side. If someone were chasing you, you wouldnt be able to run away as efficiently with the bag smashing into your thigh and banging around, causing you to run slower than you can with it on your back.
i really like rechargeable gear, you can get crazy small solar panel set up that mounts to the outside of your bag. the five miles she was going your gear would be charging the whole time plus charging the power bank. 👍👍
Awesome kit Chris, I think you nailed it! Personally I would add local Topo maps and a protractor to use in conjunction with the compass, plus if you have the carpenter's pencil sharpener, you might as well drop in a carpenter's pencil. Finally if you are out for several days, you will need a way to re-charge your cell phone. I think either a small power pack or hand crank charger would be ideal. What do you think?
Love the kit. But how in the heck do u open the knife so fast I think it is the cold spell one that u pull the string. We have one but both my hubby and I have problems opening it Any suggestions would be nice.
+DropForgedSurvival I said it backwards I can deploy it it is folding it back up. Also we got this one when they first came out. I did some research and discovered this was the biggest complaint and the company supposedly fixed it. So I am going to order a new one. Through your link. And see if that is better. Now I just have to convince hubby not to jack it. Like he does other things
Great kit. I just don't like Mora knives. Very solid EDC. You could do over 72hrs with that. Maybe beef up the mylar blanket with a SOL sport utility blanket.
I loved it..good ideas and really like the gear..some of it I would like but a little bit out of my budget..I like the vanquest bag with all the compartments just can't afford it..I keep looking for something similar cause I do need something a tad bigger than what I have. love the t shirts too. thanks again Chris love the channel and the content.
Why do you need so many firestarters? If one system is good, stick with it. Even better get some windproof lighters. Cheap as dirt and highly reliable. Many, especially mini blowtorches, will light up twigs without tinder or even blowing on them. Buy a bunch, so cheap and reliable.
Is there any reason you didn't include the hydroblu sidekick? I know you have a water filter in the bottle, I was just wondering if you still think its a good water filter. I'm curious because I just bought one for a bag I'm building for the same purpose. I figured for sure it would be in your kit.
DropForgedSurvival only existed for one week? What do you mean? Would you still recommend it? Great video btw! Also glad you and your family were unharmed from the hurricane.

@@pesto12601 Yes, exactly. That's a great kit I would suggest the addition of a lock pick set and bump keys to help in the urban environment other than that it's solid!!!
Great kit in my opinion! Maybe a spool tool to save on some room with the cordage
For this bag.... Spool Tool is bigger than needed... Plus we get 60ft.. Not bad at all

@@pesto12601 Yes, exactly. Just look how out of shape he is, if he really cared about being prepared for the worst scenario, then he would be physically fit enough to be able to trek through the woods, or sprint for more then 40 seconds. He likes to buy expensive shit he'll never use because he likes the idea of having it, and thinks it looks cool.
@@CamTheKid TRUE AF i was literally wondering the same thing these edc bug out bags are so retarded why would anyone carry these around a town? No one will ever need to use it
@@DropForgedSurvivalthese guys below are fcjing tools!! If they hate bug out bags so much why are they watching this video? UA-cam didn’t suggest videos like this unless they are searching or watching videos, than after all that they think it’s so stupid but take the time to comment and than take personal shots and some guy who is doing nothing wrong. Man , you have to have some thick skin to UA-cam.
Your videos are awesome , there is nothing wrong with being prepared .
Great vid, thanks, Chris!
In a WWOL situation I think I would avoid that over-pass with all the gang graphite. Unless your going in there with a platoon of Green Berets.
Raymond Ward what was the bag?
Dont take that to literal. It was a small example to showcase that pack is still very light and portable.
it's a nice kit but I would add something to eat with tho
There is food in the kit.
