There is no a perfect car or truck. Choose the most reliable and the most bang for your buck. Great video by the way. Do your research before buying. For me, I would choose the Ridgeline over the other midsize trucks. Thanks!
Have a 2017 Ridgeline.... 150,000km.... no problems so far/ vehicle recalls have been done ... this is a daily driver we routinely tow a small camper (2000lb dry)... I've carried full loads of wood/ drywall... heaviest load do far was a 1/2 yard of 3/4 clear ( no doubt pushing the load limit)... point is no car or truck is perfect, but for me the Ridgeline is damn close.
I live in Nigeria and am thinking of getting a used one 2017 model but am scared of the transmission issues. We have extreme rains and mud during the rainy season It will never tow, or carry heavy load just driving from my home to my poultry. It's just that transmission that scares me. I will also get a Tacoma with the Ridgeline
@@curtshumaker5768 don't think he will any time soon. I have a 2017 RTL-E with 62k miles. Most city driving which is even harder on auto transmissions. But I did an oil change 3 times already. Only thing I heard about is the tourqe converter. High failure rate if you have old oil in it.
@@TermlessHGWyeah I dug in about that 6 speed - it’s way under built for even the weight of the truck. It’s basically an accord tranny. Honda did well dumping this for a ZF9
@@cap_1stuperman536 It was a 2019 RTL-E 6-AT. The irony is I bought a used 2019 specifically because it had a 6-speed, because l too was not keen on the German 9-speed. There's actually an extended warranty on the 6-speeds... that's how problematic they are; that was issued in a service bulletin in Sept. So, that makes it 6yr/120k mi. I think. Well, 2025 is just right around the corner, so it's still a crap warranty, for a crap transmission. Now, here's the thing: they won't replace the transmission until complete failure... when the idiot-lights come on, and you limp to the dealership; during which time, they'll advise a drain/triple-flush/fill, which, I was told, might remedy the problem. This will cost around $900.00... they will not do it for free. Well, it didn't fix anything, and I had to wait about 1500 miles for complete failure to get it replaced. And, they probably replaced it with the same crappy transmission.

Definitely do NOT buy the Honda, piece of junk and the dealer does not even know how to maintain. If I stop one person from buying a Ridgeline I have helped somebody.
@@aaronroy9825 he's talking bs. Or was just unlucky. My 17 is rock solid and the dealer, DCH Kay Honda in Eatontown, NJ is amazing. I even do my oil change there. But the Honda dealer closest to me is crap. So it definitely does make a difference cuz not all of them are the same.

My 2017 Ridgeline transmission needed replaced at 52,500 miles, symptoms were noticed at 48,908 miles. I lost $10000.00 on trade in value.

My instrument cluster just went out on my 2018 Ridgeline. Not uncommon. One estimate to replace was $1600.

There’s a class action lawsuit against Honda for the 9 spd transmission. Do your homework before purchasing.

What makes you say that? Just curious. Toyotas are reliable so are Hondas. I would never consider ford or gm reliable
