The forearm on the mat is an amazing heuristic for teaching wrestlers to not reach down w/ a head low - hips high shot. Instead, it forces the wrestlers to attack with a flatter back. Thanks!
@@Shabercom👍🏻. One of the items I stress with my wrestlers is to make sure their partners hand touches the mat before they transfer their grip to the back of the ankle. It makes it almost impossible for them to down block defend the pick. Making sure the forearm is on the mat takes it even one step further and forces your hips to level change through the technique - really great stuff. Gable’s example really makes sense when we see how many wrestlers (even at higher levels) reach for the ankle with head down / hips up and end up getting sprawled out
Gable Steveson will go to WWE, build up his name, then go to the UFC for a big money deal, and then go back to WWE for a big money deal. He is following the path of Brock Lesnar.
Oh u don't know that for sure. Who knows what he thinks about pro wrestling. He's better off going to WWE, but AEW would be better they got the better product nowadays
From an objective standpoint I totally understand why he's doing what he's doing, but as an MMA fan I'm just hoping he isn't wasting time that could be spent training or potentially exposing himself to a career-altering injury in the pro wrestling circuit that hurts his chances at greatness.
@@billcipher3946 I never said it wasn't. In fact I said I totally understand his actions. The guy can do whatever the fuck he wants. I'm just saying that in my perfect fantasy world, being a fan of MMA, I would subjectively love to see a guy with his skills and physical gifts deepening the talent pool of the UFC's Heavyweight Division sooner rather than later and without any injuries and with a reasonable amount of training time under his belt.

Alot of great info in this short video, thank you!
Dude is sucha freak for his size. Heavy side of Team USA wrestling is in great hands
Thank you
This is gold.
really well explained
He could have achieved some amazing things...I 100% dont blame kurt angle at all. There was no money in mma back then, but now n days its different.
UFC is paying what the WWE is paying, so that's not really an incentive
@@AD-zp6fz no way top WWE guys make way more per year.

He has already signed with the WWE.
