- Brief video on how to remove the supercharger and clutch on all 1.8 liter 1800 Yamaha waverunner engines to date 2008- 2019. This engine was not in my ski!!!! It was an engine i purchased for parts with a leaking head. The corrosion was common on the earlier 1.8 due to no coating from factory. The ski sat on a floating dock in salt water.
thank you for this vid! I am getting ready to upgrade my 14 SVHO to the 2016 timing chain and this was very helpful to see how everything came apart.
Thank you, best of luck!

How much for a video on how to replace the grand shaft in the super charger and the wheel I’ll pay for that video on everything I can’t find one I found one video but it’s way to fast DOSENT explain anything
Great work there Mate ……… gotta do the job myself ….. thank you 😊
Thank you, good luck.
video is 100 % interesting, just found one detail that could be confusing for viewers, when he mentions 10 and 12 mm bolts he meant 6mm bolt ( size of hexagon head is 10 mm and 12 mm bolt is actually 10 x 1.25 )
Thank you
Nice long video detail well done thanxs rosco
Thanks for this video jus bought my clutch mine went out 2 days ago
Nice video man Appreciated
Your welcome. Happy to help.
how'd you get those allen heads screwed in the oil pan out without stripping them?
Milwaukee impact drill. Sometimes you have to hit them forward before you can back them out. Stripped ones can come out with vice grip needle nose pliers.
M’y clutch just pass away, tks for thé video
One of those orange o-rings is under high pressure, probably prudent to change it out no different than car oil changes where you get an o-ring for the oil filter housing every time you do the oil change, because that o-ring is under full oil pressure.
👍
I'm getting ready to this to my 2009 fzs, can you tell me where you got the spline wrench to hold the crank, or what size it is, thank you
Ebay or amazon. Look up "yamaha 1.8 clutch too" on ebay and it should pop up.
Is this a doable service leaving the engine in?
Yes
Hey a shop just replaced clutch on mine but now there’s water in the oil do you know why? That is they say it’s not there fault but there wasn’t water in the oil before I sent it there any help is appreciated.
What year?
My guess maybe the water in the oil caused the clutch to go. The most common water in oil senarios are a crack in the head usually in head bolt sleeves or cracked oil cooler. If hull fills with water and the engine sucks water in that can also get water in oil.

Awesome video 👍
Hey do you recommend a blow off valve or is it a gimmick? Thanks
i always use them. what happens is the throttle body closes when you let off the gas causing air pressure to build up from the supercharger through the intercooler to the throttle body. the pressure has nowhere to go except back through the supercharger impeller wheel causing it to jam backward putting violent lockup on the clutch. with a blow off valve that pressure is released before that happens. if its stock and you dont ride hard, jump waves etc, dont bother with a blow off valve. if modified and you ride like a nut, get one.
@@chikkicarolina15 thanks mate, thats the answer i was looking for 👍
What if my clutch doesn't rotate both ways ? But my torque acceleration and rpms won't go above 5000 rpm so it seems like supercharger problems
Clutch only should turn one way. A bad Spark plug, moisture in a spark plug boot or around a spark plug, intake leak, reverse lever switch, something wrapped around impeller underneath ski like rope or weeds. Is there a warning light on?
w year? check throttle body
How many hours do you guys normally get before problem start to arise with the supercharger?
Between 50 and 250. Depends on how you ride. If you fly through chop at full throttle and jump surf and pretty much always full throttle 50-100. My buddy has 200 on a 2017 svho and still going strong.
@@chikkicarolina15 great video thank you! I have 130 hours on a svho in my boat. Its a 2018 ar195. Im curious to see how much time i get out of it before any repairs are needed.
i think you can take the crank bolt off with a impact without the specialty tool. then im thinking i can get a small impact like the adjustable Milwaukie 3/8 m12 to impact it back on to 59ish lbs. Im pretty sure it can only get tighter not looser anyway. so in theory it should work. anybody else try this. My ski is a 16. is it advisable to use the 21 clutch over the stock. I think its compatible and is more durable? anybody know. On my last right power was in consistent but still hit 70 almost every time. Im ast 83 hours and drive easy. But ive been reving on idle to blow water out after riding i think this might have finished it off.
The updated versions are better.
thank you
Whats the torque for the bolt?
59 ft lbs
Or 80 N-m
Thank you!
Your welcome.
I got anxiety from this I don’t want my supercharger to go bad
Anxiety from the video or about the supercharger?
Thank you sir.
You're welcome!
