blair witch was only transferred onto film for the sundance film festival as back then it didn’t allow digital video to qualify. the 2 directors were gutted because the film transfer cost almost as much as the budget for the whole movie. they did it because they were assured of the prize.. the rest is history
You are incorrect when you mentioned in your video that Blair Witch can be watched in the U.S. That release was Blu Ray only and it is Region B. Cannot be played in the U.S. unless you have a region free player. Don’t want people getting confused by your comment and buying it and being unable to play it.
Thank you. I’ve put a disclaimer in the description. Sorry got carried away talking about 4ks. Wasn’t going to put Blair witch in as it’s a blu but it was a very good release that second sight did.
Some very strange choices there, while I agree the third man and the conversation are both masterpieces, those releases are just completely ridiculously priced, particularly for people who are interested in the transfers and not all the other nonessense, which in my opinion is just a total waste of money. Conan is a great transfer and the only one actually available in regular slip cover at a reasonable price.i can't imagine why anyone would want demolition man in a collectors edition. It's an entertaining film, but hardly something warrenting that sort of thing. In terms of great transfers and renasters you seem to surprisingly overlooked North by northwest and to catch a thief.which were both stellar remasters. As well as the terminator, which looks and sounds fantastic, all of which collectors aren't forced into paying huge money for box sets or steelbooks
I haven’t watched to catch a thief. I bought it and someone wanted to watch it and I’m waiting for it back. As you can see at the end, I was toying with whether I should have put north by northwest in.
Great review for 2024. I picked up Imprint films Cross of Iron box set .
Nice editions. We are certainly in the golden age of physical media. Happy New Year 👍
Happy new year Matt !
Blair Witch / Seven Samurai / North by Northwest were my holy trinity boxsets in 2024.
Great editions.

You were right not to include Blair witch because it is a Blu-ray.
Of course. Was such a good release though so thought that I had to mention it.
@@4kCollectivEI have Blair witch but waiting for the replacement disc before I watch it.
@@letstalkcriterion apparently the sound really isn't all that different.
Worst 4Ks of the year?
