I love this watch. I own the blue dial version. Gets tons of time on the wrist.
The blue version's beautiful too! Honestly I think they knocked it out of the park with this release, it definitely deserves more attention. How long have you had yours for?
@@ShahLusso I agree. It’s gorgeous and very overlooked, underrated. The new white dial black and gold accent two tone release was interesting stuff as well.
I think I bought the blue version in August or September 2023. It was a decision between the Omega Chronoscope, JLC Polaris Chronograph (Blue), and Breitling Premiere 42mm (Blue). And as you know, I went Omega Chronoscope 😃
The Chronoscope has basically been on my wrist daily since last year and has only been changed up a week ago when the Zenith Chronomaster 42mm finally came back from service.
This and the deville chrono are some of my favorite Omega's.
Yeah, they’re just such fun quirky chronographs. Interestingly, a De Ville chronoscope (with the Frederic Piguet 1285 based calibre) was nearly my first watch instead of my Seamaster. In the end I chickened out on getting pre-owned for my first watch but would’ve been a killer way to start a collection 😅
Great Review - supporting my final decision. On Wednesday my Seamaster 300 will leave me and I will pick up that Speedy Chronoscope Panda.
As I believe the most attractive Speedy.
I was thinking for two years about it, and since I still love it - which is not always the case - it is time now to pick it up.
New, from secondary market, for a reasonable price. 😉👋🏼
Great choice!! Hope you enjoy owning it for years to come! How long did you have the Seamaster 300 for?
I picked it up at the retailer in 06/2022, the second time I had one now. With three O-straps even.
But since I want to limit the numbers of my watches I always have to decide. 😐
Anyway, looking forward for the Panda Chronoscope.
Thanks again for supporting 👋🏼
Great review mate! I'm looking at the Chronoscope Paris 2024 edition (steel). I saw it in person in the boutique and it's stunning. I think being a special edition it might keep good value over time. The only downside is there's no view through at the mechanism. Questions for you, what you think of the price of the Chronoscope overall? With the same amount you can buy a good second hand Rolex or something that can guarantee more value overtime. That's my only doubt so far...
@ShahLusso !
Generally I think the retail pricing on the chronoscope are a bit steep, but their pre-owned prices are now making them a really attractive option especially for the movement and build quality you get. The Chronoscope Paris is beautiful, but like a lot of the Omega special editions it’s not likely to be the best place to park your money if you’re looking to resell it in the future - unfortunately Omega just makes too many special editions for them to work like that so it’s really down to what’s more important- if it’s value retention then it always ends up back at Rolex, but that Paris Chronoscope for example is unlike any Rolex you could get at that price point
Hope that helps :)
@@ShahLusso definitely helps, it makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the advice, I'll go with the chronoscope as I don't intend to resell it. On the other hand the idea of retaining value would make the expense less painful :) but you never know with this crazy market. Cheers and congrats for the channel
So true, I've been into this hobby going on 6 years now (so the whole hype, investment watches, value retention was in full swing already when i started) and still haven't been able to make any sense of this crazy market but sometimes it does throw in some nice surprises :) Cliche as it may sound, but the safest bet is just to try and buy at the best price to hedge for resale and to spare some of that initial purchase pain 😅 and watches like the Chronoscope are perfect candidates for that since they've already taken a big chunk of their depreciation since release. Thanks for watching and hope you pick up your Chronoscope soon :)
