$500 Golf Cart Build - Electric to Gas (Predator 420) - Part 1

- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- I picked up a golf cart on Facebook Marketplace for $500 and it didn't come with a motor or batteries, so I figured I'd try to fit a Predator 420 in it and see what happens!

Really looking forward to this build mate. Don't take too long - Cuthy 😉
Thanks Cuthy! Hoping to get some more work done on it this week as well.
I am planning on going with the same setup in my 91 club car that i got for free it sat in the woods for 10 years
Doesn't the engine have a stator? Just wondering why you need an external charging system?
Yes, the factory charging system is only around 3A though. My plans for this cart will require around 10 - 15A at full load, so the external charging system was required. There's a few upgrades available now for an internal stator upgrade, but this setup will serve for what's needed on my build.
Is there anyway I can get in contact with you directly? I have a golf cart that’s already set up with a predator 420 but I cannot get it to go past 12 miles an hour. I think it’s something to do with the gears and clutching, but I would like your input directly. Maybe I can send you a video or we can video chat im also in fl
Did you scrap this project?
Nope, I just haven't been able to get to it in a while. I filmed part of part 2 a while back, but I'm hoping to get some time next month to work on it again.
I need a link to the coupler
The place I bought it from no longer carries it, but it looks like this site has it here: www.golfcartgeeks.com/products/club-car-ge-10-spline-coupler-years-1982-up?variant=43153058201839&gclid=Cj0KCQiAuqKqBhDxARIsAFZELmL5uT83MTsBS0ZOyKYpLPweBcBfWjkChcfthn0t4LtdLsXXu09fHRQaAkEZEALw_wcB
i am trying to find a sprocket for the back axle spline and i dont know what to buy. any suggestions?
I'm not sure what size sprocket would work for your setup, but if you need a coupler from the rear diff to a sprocket, this is what you'd need first: www.golfcartgeeks.com/products/club-car-ge-10-spline-coupler-years-1982-up?variant=43153058201839&gclid=Cj0KCQiAuqKqBhDxARIsAFZELmL5uT83MTsBS0ZOyKYpLPweBcBfWjkChcfthn0t4LtdLsXXu09fHRQaAkEZEALw_wcB
10 tooth
Thanks for the suggestion! Should finally have some time to start this project back up next month!
