I have both, I really enjoy going from the shock on fresh down to the recoil for game 3 and lets me throw the same line and not worry about changing too much on my throw.

Thank you for revisiting the Recoil. One thing I didn't have in my bag was an asym. Once the Recoil came out, I had to have it.

I have both and I love them both. The shock never leaves my bag for sport shot and the recoil never leaves my bag for house shot. I'm throwing on cheetah for my sport shot league and I threw the shock tonight. It did really well. I didn't think to try to recoil so I am going to warm up with that next week and we'll see how it goes. Great video bud

Recoil was my first Motiv ball and why I fell in love with the brand. I still haven’t own the Shock. This review makes me reconsider getting a shock

Great video as always. I love my venom shock. Sadly I don't have the Recoil. It looks really good though. I'm looking forward to the new Venom ball. I recently drilled up the Forge Fire and it hasn't really worked out to well for me so far. Still playing around with the surface to try and find something that will work for me. Right now I'm thinking of getting the tank blitz or one of the other venom line balls as the venom shock has worked so well for me. Well keep the content coming. I really enjoy your channel.

The Recoil is a bomb 💣. I love, what I like to call, the “forward rolling continuation”. I have high axis rotation and this ball helps me control the pocket on the wet dry.

There are balls that do many things great, and there are balls that are the best at 1 thing. This ball is one of the later. Every motiv staffer is throwing it on the short animal patterns and is just a necessary ball if one doesn't want to or cannot throw urethane on short. Truly an underrated ball.

I love my Venom Recoil, I'm a 160 average left handed bowler. I thew a 206 and a 210 with it tonight.

I really appreciate your video on the Shock & recoil ! As you & I talk, I love my Shock, 2nd one came a few weeks ago in box,(deciding) so the only thing I think to use it would be the traditional down & in shot, hopefully it feels dry it breaks hard. Example: slide foot on 15, ball released on 5 straight down until dry, BAM, pocket shot. I do this with my black covert tank..

I have the Venom Shock, VSP and Cobra. I love my Shock. It's my favorite go to ball. I rolled a Recoil at a Motvi demo and did nothing but strike with it. I didn't see that much difference between it and the shock, so I never bought it. I probably won't get the Fatal Venom because just looking at the numbers, it appears to be a VSP with the infusion cover versus the hexion cover that's on the VSP. I'll try it out at a demo to see how it rolls. I'm looking more forward to the new Forge coming out. I may get that to replace my Revolt Havoc.
So the cores are different on the VSP and the Shock and the Infusion pearl cover handles way more oil than the Hexion.
I have both Shock 4000 14 2.75" x 50* is great on fresh on many many lane conditions. Recoil 4000 14 2.50 ..33 .012 75* x 5" x 30* is good if back ends are clean and lanes open up. It is spotty and can leave 10's when you are bowling on carry down. Luis mentions this in the video and I concur. In my area we see a lot of house conditions tighten and carry down not enough head oil flooded mids and dirty back ends. Poor lane conditioning. I tend to go to Supra on transition on this with it's Infusion pearl cover and high Rg 14 2.60 .048 4" x 30* I don't have to move too far left/inside get the Supra thru the heads and have enough pop on the dirty back ends to carry well. it's all about the match up. I wish I could use my Recoil more but it just isn't in the cards with the lane conditions I bowl on with my stats. Definitely interested in the Fatal Venom. Scott
That’s the beauty of bowling ! What’s really good for you may be not as good for someone else and Vice versa.
I agree with the shock being a tad ‘jerky’ with OOB finish. What I do to tame it down is take a 2000 abralon pad and hit it by hand each night before league. 2000 hand surface seems to be the sweet spot for me on the shock to get the early smooth read but still punch out the corners on fresh THS, while maintaining that total control feel.

I have a Shock with 500 games on it, and if I keep up on detoxing and surface adjustments I'm sure I could get another 200 out of it. Absolutely insane ball.
I also have a Recoil, which I drilled shortly after my Shock hit 500 games. The layout my PSO advised me to go with was 25x4.5x30, which with my PAP puts the PSA of the ball right on my VAL. This results in the Recoil reading the pattern a bit harder - which is great for me as a speed-dominant player. I do find that it doesn't hit quite as hard or continue quite as much off the spot as a Shock, but it's still dependable and consistent enough for me to feel comfortable using it as a quasi-benchmark ball.
For me I am loving the recoil on the shorter patterns !!
I love the venom series very under rated ball I remember when I had the toxin and panic almost shot 300 with both of them I bought the shock two weeks ago love the ball very readable I basically call this ball motiv hyroad like storm venom ball should stay in every one bag very dependable ball.
Shock I hope stays in the line for A LONG time !! It’ll be a sad sad day when it gets discontinued

Well I had this recoil given to me used. I was just seeing if it was worth the money getting it re drilled. I had the fatal a few months back but I did not like it a lot. I had issues getting it to carry pins. Some of it might be how it was drilled. So traded it for the Vip Affliction and a ripcord flight. I love the Affliction. I have just got into motiv last year after you told me I must own the Jackal Ghost. 🤣Great ball too and my favorite ball in my bag hands down. Thanks for the review. I guess I give it a go and see if I like it.

I've already pre-ordered the Fatal Venom for myself ... I have lower ball speed, but a lot of hand and typically see light to medium conditions ... so the Forge, unfortunately, has always been out of play for me. I never get to throw a Jackal either... it's a bummer... but that's how I came to love Motiv in the first place ... other brands, have what 2 maaaybe 3 options for Light Oil? Give or take ... Motiv has TWELVE options for Medium to Light oil at any given time... Motiv seems to be the only brand putting serious R&D into this area, as a cranker, I appreciate the hell out of that
I completely agree with that !! Sure we have some really good strong balls for heavy oil but we have some AMAZING low volume balls that aren’t overly jerky when they see friction
My recoil is not the greatest, but the layout is pretty much garbage.. 75x5x70... I think I should change it up. Also, looking forward to the Fatal.. gonna use the recoil, cobra, and fatal for my house shots.
Yea my opinion on the recoil is that you need a stronger pin to pap to make it flare more and a smaller VAL angle to make it corner more
I had a recoil I thought it was the most inconsistent ball I have ever thrown. I'm a high rev bowler and still looking for a ball for me.

Could the Recoil, Shock, And Fatal be a good 3-ball set for a house shot? I’m hopping ship and have a good chunk of Motiv stuff coming in and would like to know what to get first, I only have a jackal ghost drilled at the moment
If you want a GREAT 3 ball arsenal with the ghost as the spearhead I would go with the shock and Fatal
I’ve got that one too, I’ve got a long list that I can get done, just want to know what to start with. Just shot 789 with said ghost in action bowling tonight.
I had a shock and didn’t like it very much and have never thrown a recoil. I do plan on getting a fatal venom and trying a different layout on it.
I respect that you're still open minded to the Venom line after not liking the shock ... Have you tried playing with the surface on your Shock? (as a die-hard fanboy, it puzzles me that someone wouldn't like the Venom Shock haha) ... I currently play my Shock at 4000 with lane shine to have it act more like a early arching pearl ... but I also really like it at 1000 and dull and play it in the oil ... so I think when I get my Fatal I'll keep my Shock at the dull 1000 and have them compliment each other.
@@jareddrake619 I no longer have it, but was not too open about surface changes at the time. I would say I’m more flexible now and have a new PSO that can give me advice on layouts. I feel confident the fatal can be amazing if I’m more open minded this time.
@@Brian_Wolf I'm super pumped for the Fatal Venom also... It's got the same clean and flippy cover as the Supra but with the smoother rolling core of the Shock... I'm expecting a nice continous booming arch... That matched with my typical medium house shot with high friction to the outside... All the numbers adding up and what we know already of Cover and Core characteristics... Mathematically speaking, the Fatal Venom should near "goldilocks" levels for medium house shots... I'm super pumped for it... It also helps that the White and Green with the Venom Logo is Sexy as Hell... To me that counts and adds value

I actually just drilled a new Shock a few days ago. I went 4.5x20. I’m not a huge fan of short pin layouts. They haven’t matched my game very well.
@@LuisNapoles how come, I was interested to hear if a short pin shock would be less responsive off the dry so more like the poison
I'm aright hand two finger heavy cranker and I go right pretty far...usually at the 10 arrow or sometimes between the 10 & 5 arrow. Because of this I'm concerned the Recoil my not get back fast enough based on what I'm seeing in this video. I do like that it hooks smoother though on drier lanes. Hard decision too make.. I can see why it would be good to have both to make adjustments. For reference I still use my Lane #1 Black Panther a lot.

If you’re looking for a “go to” ball after the Shock I would look into the Fatal Venom! It has the same core but a Pearl cover so it’ll have a similar motion as the Shock just a little longer and a little more angular!

@@LuisNapoles thanks for the reply, I used to bowl as a stroker with a 15lbs bowl. I wanna move on to a more high rev. The motiv venom shock that I get was 13lb. Reason being is I wanna start frm the basic n get rid of my old bad habit.is 13lb good enough or it's a waste n should hve gone for the 14lb instead? Thanks

Hello Lou,I just got my venom shock today DRILLED it,pin above ring finger. Practice on beat up league pattern , 📦 finish 4000. I will practice on fresh Sunday 🌄 I will start out down and in , and then move left, man I shot the ten pin , l lade the ball on the 27th board and made 3 out 3 , here is my Arsenal , thanks 2 you and the MOTIV staff I have the.Vs , motiv forge FLARE, Desert tank ,and the MOTIV SUPRA , I will get the jackal Legacy and the purple tank later,I the guy every one was making fun of now they want me 2 bee a sub , I now I ask them politely what size Butt kicking do you want , X large,large,😁👀🐆Holla
