DCALABRESE Into Winter Begin 2017

another classical/jazz piece (see above) written in december 2017 at the start of yet another winter. i like winter the best, as the woods aren't threatening with weaponized Lyme's disease for about 2 1/2 months (middle dec. - middle feb.). the ticks are there, and it can happen, but it would be rare. they hunker down under the leaves under your feet, and are not likely to come out unless you stand there digging your feet in for long periods of time. i googled and found out that the deer ticks which carry the spirochete called Lyme's don't hibernate like their larger brothers, and are always viable. hence not standing in one place too long till they read the heat signature and want to take a bite. i guess it's mere coincidence that the one tick that doesn't hibernate is also the one that carries the lifelong debilitating spirochete. aren't we fortunate?
