Except it’s not. Starbucks is nothing to write home about but I assure you there are far too many places with coffee worse than Starbucks. Plus the coffee renaissance in Greece started with the coming of Starbucks. Few of the hipster tattooed bearded baristas were even born to remember how bad coffee used to be in Athens
@@ErisstheGoddessofmanhwas Ι also drink better coffee than SB, but that is because I know where to get it. I assure you there are places that make crappy coffee outside of your echo bubble
@@terryv.2531 coffee renaissance didn't start with Starbucks in Greece because of the fact that the vast majority of Greeks didn't go to the Starbucks in the first place. Starbucks gives emphasis to beverages feeling like liquid pastries with tastes like pumpkin coconut etc. There are plenty of good small cafeterias that started making good real coffee at the turn of the century or so. If Greeks had to discover real coffee from somewhere it's Vienna, Rome etc
Best coffee I ever tasted was in new York city to one of the shops that specializes only coffees from all over the world. . But I I believe Here in my country we also have level up a great deal when it comes to coffee..
Coffee is big part of our lifes .The first thing i do whenever i go back in Greece is to drink a coffee. Cold or hot doesn't matter. Thessaloniki especially is my favorite city for coffee ☕️
Fredo Espresso was born at the coffee festival in Saloniki back in the 90’s . One of the baristas wanted a cold coffee but didn’t want to make the regular Nescafé Frape so he took a shot of espresso and whipped it up in the frappe blender with ice and it basically took over greece.
"Coming from a country that doesn't do coffee so well" 😂 I bet that lady although she tried to act cool, from inside she wanted to slap you or something.😅
I was just poking fun at Turkish culture. They do have a coffee culture. Turkish coffee is a thing and you can find some amazing cafes in Istanbul, especially kadikoy. But yeah I she was much more serious with her answer than the rest of the video. A bit if a tone shift.
@mariolis if you are talking about the batista gold comment, then I have to disagree I think. I read that the fat content is 7.5%. Twice as much as whole milk.
@@LargeManAbroad Oh, thats good to know, when I make it for myself at home I just whip regular milk (when I'm not too lazy to make it) But when it comes to getting it from a shop, then I might be completely wrong, so , thanks for letting me know
My town Larissa , have so many cofee bars that can all population get in that places. 1.150 for 150.000 people. daily consumption 9 tons😄

@@LargeManAbroad Do you have any info or links about bus transportation to Meteora?
@@LargeManAbroad Oh I know! ❤️ 🐻
@mikefilimon1584 yeah I'm writing out a transportation video. I'll finish by the end of the week.
@@LargeManAbroad Thank you!
Dude, Starbucks its the McDonalds of coffee. I'll never understand why you think it's any good.
I don't. In America there isn't really a coffee culture like there is in Europe. We have more of a Starbucks culture.

I understand Athens has a yearly coffee Festival do you know when next year is? Days of the month is what I’m wondering.
Asking somebody that comes from a country with no coffee culture about coffee it's a little bit odd.
