- Unboxing my new Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Morrum/Mörrum ZX3600.
One fine reel. But not as good as Calcutta Conquest.

I have always toyed with the idea of owning a Morrum. It dates back all the way to the silver Morrum M which looked great at the time, but just wasn't smooth on the crank. Then, the SX came out and now the ZX. I was hoping Abu would have finally caught up with the level of refinement from its competitors against reels such as the Conquest and Ryoga. I would have been more forgiving if Abu didn't set its price point at US$500. Is not about the money, if you want to charge me US$500, I would expect the very best from you, but unfortunately the machining technology, precision and refinement is just not there yet. You can't charge people US$500 a reel when there is so much play on the thumb bar and that is before we talk about its smoothness or the lack of it.
I totally agree. Abu's top of the line just isn't as good as others Top of the line. It's sad but true, I had really high hopes that the ZX would be a really good reel. It's just an OK reel.
Hejssan, tack för en bra unboxing! Hur har rullen varit att fiska med? Jag har den förra Mörrum 6600 rullen + ca 20 andra Ambassadeurs, har länge bollat med tanken att köpa en sån här. Den är jävligt snygg 😎
Hej. Det är lite det som är problemet med den rullen. Sjukt snygg men inte speciellt bra. Föredrar en ProMax före den när det gäller fiske.
Bara två skruvar som håller vevgavel så dom lossnar hela tiden, låter mycket, både kastbroms samt för det blir så snäv vinkel mot linspridaren.
En ok rulle, men inte värd mer än 1000kr plus eventuell snygghetsskatt enligt mig.
I returned my Morrum ZX because the thumbar was loose like yours! Apparently it's normal? the retrieve was very geary too.
dolucks1 I thinks it's normal to. When I look at the construction it seems like it's just the way it is. When fishing it does not disturb me.
The retrieve is more geary than Conquest but not as bad as the Revo's.
When i look at this and compare to other round reels from MB, Shimano and Daiwa, this looks kind cheapo. Just the way the polished metal shines, the clockies click... looks like a Made in China reel compared to something like the Ryoga :(
It's well built but there are some pars that's just cheap. The Star wheel is one of them. :(
Compared to the reels you say, it's not in the same league at all!
förstår fortfarande int var abu prylar är så mycket billigare i Usa, nästan alla saker är billigare eller jämna i pris. promax i sverige kostar 800 kr, i usa kostar samma rulle 50-60 dollar vilket är under 500 lappen
Tror det handlar mycket om skatter och sådana saker med. Samt att det säljs så mycket mer på den marknaden.
