The whole point of the lift is the recruitment of the muscle fibers in the posterior chain then the actual concentric phase of contracting the erector spinae muscle... not the eccentric lowering of the weight. As long as you start the lift at a dead stop picking the weight off the floor (hence the name 'dead lift'), you're doing it right. Actually, focusing too much on lowering the weight slowly can really strain and damage your erector spinae and hamstrings which you don't want to do.
hey nick when i see your videos every here and there i am in pure awe, your "TIME MANAGEMENT" Skills are believable. like they always say "there are only 24 hours in a day" and you take account and make good use of every one of those hours. thank you for the inspiration.
I honestly have the utmost respect for you Nick. You seem to be a very genuine person and i look up to and admire you. Best of luck to you with your business man!
dude I have insane respect for you not only for the training and military work you do, but for getting it on camera, as well as fitting workouts and editing into your day. mad respect to you bro
YEEESSSSS. Found you while I came back from training. But you were gone. Waited a long ass time. Finally. You're back and you're a local Nick. Well your parents are. I live near Palmyra. Bunch of friends go to IUP. Crazy to see someone do this well. I'm happy for you. Thanks for your service.
'there chow they eat is all clean, even their MRE's let me show you what they look like' next picture is the dog... dont think you meant that but i fucking laughed:')
I've been waiting for this video for what feels like forever. I saw that he uploaded last night but I didn't have enough time to watch it. Now I do and it feels great.
+tiehut theres quite a few factors to consider. your training style. are you doing hypertrophy/strength/power lifting style etc? i found my muscle mass maintained or only dipped slightly when i did my cut when i was running a strength program. (this is really subjective and to go into detail includes your time under tensiom and all that) also your diet etc. its inevitable to lose some muscle but you wont lose all of it. just track your progress and your overall strength.
Glad to have ya back Nick......thanks to you and all your guys for what you do..I know I couldn't.. Best of luck in the new business...excited to see you and Preston hook back up in Texas....once again THANKS.....and welcome back
Had to survive finals and the end of the semester without the videos. Did it though! Super stoked to have you back and see whats coming! This was sweet to watch Nick.
I can't believe the amount of subscribers you've accumulated and up votes on this video alone. incredible! hopefully Preston gets to that level within the next year or two
I was Bradley Infantry in Germany with 2-6 Inf,we set the record for USAREUR Table VII, seven tracks scored 1000, lowest score for Bn is 920, my track scored 960, this was back in the 90's, this video brings back memories from Grafenwohr gunnery... Thanks for the vlogs.
hoenstly, i cant fuckign stand vlog channels of gamers, theyre always similiar and so boring in my opinion, but this is always so exciting to watch, so much intensity every part of the day , the editing is beyond proffesional, the only Vlog channel that i can sit and watch and be excited throughout the entire experience, also the only channel where i am taught something new every time, even if you dont know it nick, you are probably the wisest person ive come to find on youtube who gives all of his fans motivation to get fit and learn new things, keep up the amazing work and i hope your channel gets the recognition it deserves.
It has been truly amazing experiencing this journey and watching you grow throughout it nick. Thank you and I hope to see you do even greater things with your business.
Small correction LT....you said weeks and months later you would start thinking about what you miss about your experiences...i just want to add that decades in the future you will cherish your memories even more. You will also think about the men who serve as you are having a cozy family barbecue with loved ones in the comfort of your home. You will know there are men patrolling the perimeter and enduring misery and danger to keep us all safe. I think about that on holidays...when i am enjoying myself with family on some random day....i always remember there are those who stand guard and watch over us as we live our lives.
Great video! I found your channel after you left for the field and Ive been catching up ever since. I was never a fan of Korea but I always enjoyed my time in the field. keep up the great work. Semper Fi!
love your videos man in about a year ill be starting my military journey and taking the same path as you. your videos are really opening up a bunch of stuff i didn't know about and making me more excited than ever to enlist.
love seeing the channel grow, your content has always been awesome but it keeps getting better and better! cant wait to see the process of opening the gym once you're back home!
This is by far my new favorite channel. It's very inspiring. Thanks for your service! and thanks for the excellent products, I've been using flight, intraflight, and your creatine and it is top notch!
Glad to see your back from the field sir. I stumbled across your channel and I've really enjoyed it. I appreciate your service. Take full advantage of the time you have left. I can't wait to see what you have in store when your time is up and you transfer back to civilian life. Your vloggs are motivating keep up the work sir.
Been away from YT for a moment but seems like you've been too lol. Glad to see the growth on your channel! It's nice too get a gist of what's going on in the military. Always so motivated and inspired when I stop by :-)
Amazing man! Welcome back! I am 14 in 4 years I will be joining the military, I am in Canada so I won't be training with you. But that's fine I'll still watch your videos man, keep up the amazing videos and stay safe.
Thanks for taking the time to create this content, Nick. Even though I got out of the infantry 6 years ago, watching your videos brings back memories and makes me realize as enlisted personnel all the things you officers had to do behind the scenes to make sure field rotations and gunneries went smoothly.
That deadlift form is perfection. Love watching your channel grow Nick. Thank you for your service!
would it better to lower the bar slowly instead of dropping it?
tiehut all depends on your goals
The whole point of the lift is the recruitment of the muscle fibers in the posterior chain then the actual concentric phase of contracting the erector spinae muscle... not the eccentric lowering of the weight. As long as you start the lift at a dead stop picking the weight off the floor (hence the name 'dead lift'), you're doing it right. Actually, focusing too much on lowering the weight slowly can really strain and damage your erector spinae and hamstrings which you don't want to do.
Can you please break it down as to what a slow deadlift will build and what dropping the bar would build?
Donald Trump You have no say in deadlift form Donald
Hands down the best fitness/lifestyle channel to watch on youtube
fuck yea
+MrskippingguyonRS i agree. very informative on so many levels

I've been waiting for this video for what feels like forever. I saw that he uploaded last night but I didn't have enough time to watch it. Now I do and it feels great.
Waited forever for this. started cutting when you left and am proud to say i've lost quite a few pounds(:
how do you lose fat without losing muscle?
+tiehut do it very slowly
+tiehut theres quite a few factors to consider. your training style. are you doing hypertrophy/strength/power lifting style etc? i found my muscle mass maintained or only dipped slightly when i did my cut when i was running a strength program.
