She grew on me. I didn’t want her and Uhtred to be forever but I was curious what relationship they could have and where it might lead. More then what was done in the show. She was an interesting character. I absolutely loved the fight for Skade between Bloodhair and Uhtred. Cause you can tell everyone hopes and thinks Uhtred is going to lose. And yet again it gives me another opportunity to prove how strong he is and how great of a warrior he is. He has his reputation for a reason. And it’s not fake. He has it because he earned it. There was a reason Alfred tried so hard to keep him as his general

It's a strange thing, but I loved how Skade was portrayed. There was a creepy allure to her and while I wanted nothing more than for Utred to kill her, I absolutely wished the whole season had her in it. Thank you for this video! I have been hoping to find one and you beautifully executed it too.
El Margo I disagree. Her storyline was one of the few in which I disliked in season 3. They either should’ve killed her off earlier or done more with the character. Would’ve been more satisfying if Bloodhair or Haesten killed her instead of Uhtred too.

So a pagan/magical counterpoint was needed. It was the same with the "getting Ragnar into Valhalla" arch. Danes were deeply religious in their own way.

I'm so glad Uhtred didn't go there with Skade like fall for her.. It would have ruined his character. Actress did a good job making you NOT like her... I have not seen her in any other shows or movies but she must be a pretty good actress b/c she sure made you dislike her. For awhile there, I thought Byeda was going to have to ‘take her out’. This is such a great series! Great characters, actors (Skade included), great storylines, great action. It seems that the actors became more like a family offset & that chemistry just added to the quality of the series. It doesn’t take long to get sucked into the story & the characters or to watch it all over again. The Last Kingdom can stand up to any series on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

I liked Brida and Ultred. I really wished he would have went with her at the beginning. I liked how she knew what to do with Skade. She brought that thing and put it in front of the cell that she was in. Now that I read your comment, you said that Brida said for him to either make her his wife or kill her. Why didn't he wife her? It definitely was an interesting relationship. I wasn’t totally against it. I definitely and will always have Gisela as my favorite lover but I was curious what might happen with Skade. Never really wanted anything serious to happen as you made a great point that she basically manipulated him into having feelings for her but was curious how far they would go
Uthred could have been the king of Saxons and Danes if he accepted skade's offer to be his queen in exchange for her services, I feel she has been subtly pushing uthred to achieve his destiny and helping him by encouraging the Vikings to kill each other while she was their captive.

They were originally looking for a woman in her 40s to play Skade but this actress was determined to get the role and convinced them with her scream apparently. I think she did a fab job and was very convincing....obviously an evil character but with a certain allure at the same time. She was told by her fellow actors that she looked so innocent and they could hardly imagine her as the character she was portraying but I think that was part of what made her performance so great. An actress I hope gets more and bigger roles.
Skade is my favorite character in the entire series, a mysterious, interesting and evil character. Thea sofie loch naess did a great role in her portrayal. Regarding her curse, Uthred could have lifted it by marrying her and making her his wife, Brida said, but I'm afraid that will only remain in my dreams.

Skades a sorceress and an evil one. Mages or sorcerers have some limitations only to foresee for the king or their lord while skade threw curses and destroyed lives and she owned her lord by threatening and blackmailing him to destroy his life in case he deviates, her curse to uthred cost him his wife Gisela.
That scene never should have happened in the show. It means the main character is damaged from that point onwards in the audiences eye. You cannot see the character as being good when he murders somebody like that.

Mages or sorcerers have some limitations only to foresee for the king or their lord while skade threw curses and destroyed lives and she owned her lord by threatening and blackmailing him to destroy his life in case he deviates, her curse to uthred cost him his wife Gisela.
There was never any curse. She jused used weak men's fear against them.
That scene never should have happened in the show. It means the main character is damaged from that point onwards in the audiences eye. You cannot see the character as being good when he murders somebody like that.
He had no choice but to break the curse, it's all part of the history and the mindset they had. Why miss out on that?
