- Last December 2022 I was contacted by a Lithuanian journalist that works for a project funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration fund 2014-2020. #Nice2meetU shares the stories of people from different countries, living in Lithuania and sharing their cultures while integrating with locals.
I am sharing my experience after living in Lithuania for three years. So far the most beautiful thing in Lithuania is nature and no less important safety, which compared to Mexico, is not that easy walking alone because as a woman you need to constantly be careful.
Also I shared The Mexican community in Vilnius that is growing with mexicans from different cities in Mexico.
Finally I am sharing my strategy of not miss home so much by attaching to my passions that are running and dancing 💃

Your comment about feeling safe in Lithuania at any time of the day is golden. I am Lithuanian myself but having traveled the world quite a bit I can say there are few places where you instinctively know that people will not bother you unless you bother them. Everyone just minds their own business.
Sure, there are exceptions and terrible people who do terrible things, but it is so rare that people consider it about as much as getting struck by a lightning.
Most of us Lithuanians take it for granted tho, because we don’t know how dangerous other places are
I invite you to travel by yourself as a female to India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria etc. Your comment about most people being nice is romantic but sadly not accurate at all.

Hi, im Lithuanian who just free citizen of the World and trying different cultures in different countries started in Europe and continue in Africa, Asia, Latin America, US Australia, New Zélande , Japan and now settle in small village in The South France, i Have so many beautiful Mexicans friends in the UK and Canada, and i just adore Mexican food. Very nice to see that Lithuania became the little multicultural country, sadly i visited Lithuania last time 15 years ago - all the time short of time 😱😂😂😂. Was nice to hear your story and Good luck

In general it is safe. I myself walk alone in the middle of night in Vilnius main streets all the time since I was a girl. I also go to forests to pick up mushrooms alone. Nevertheless It is reasonable to avoid dark yards with drunk crowds and to get vaccinated for ticks.

Why did you feel lonely when you had a Lithuanian man by your side? He was not a gang member, he tried to show you the best of the country, he is the nicest person you have ever met... Did you have some kind of distrust in the beginning?
Your life is not just your spouse. As a Latin you have a need of family, friends and also the society, we like to make casual chats even with random ppl in the streets, we like loud music, we are loud. And the society here is more reserved and calm so at the beginning es a cultural shock.
And being married doesn’t mean you need to be just and only with him, no that doesn’t mean he is not nice or I distrust. You are getting it wrong I think!
Not really extraordinary. I’m Mexican. I studied Russian in top US SCHOOL AND in ST PETERSBURG. How many kilometers to a real beach? Such stupid comments. But live ur life. Just don’t lie. I’ve been there.
