Great video! I have to say I already do most of these, except for the dog, mine is too old for fetch. But I have always brought my sling on walks for the past year, getting some practice in. I have also found old train tracks a great place to practice near. The rocks they use for under the tracks are a perfect size, and there are a million of them. It is slow going, but im getting better. I can hit an old cooler from 20 yards about 20% of the time. Im hoping to get out there 3-4 times a week now on, so im hoping for some good improvement.
This wasn't the type of tips video I was expecting - it was so much more! I've been slinging for a long time and I am always looking for input and tips to get better. I expected a technique-video and got a video that, above all, conveyed joy. A few basics, but above all the joy of this hobby. Very humorous and lovingly done! Thank you very much, these were a great few minutes for me!
Very informative plus a good sense of humor ! 🤩 How anybody cannot fall in love with slinging after watching your video ❤ I'll forward it to Linko Rovaniemi from Finland 🇫🇮 ... and the city doesn't allow us here slinging cocktail molotov anymore but I go often with giant ice cubes which is fun too ! 😂
Great video. I just built my second Balearic sling (out of jute), and I'm trying to improve my accuracy. Thanks for this and your tutorial video. I can get the empty sling to snap like a whip, but with ammo in it, it doesn't, and I bounce as many off the ground as I send down range. There were a couple of tips in here that helped me switch those results around. I still don't have the speed with the ammo as I do without. I'm sure it's a technique thing I'm doing wrong. I'll keep working. Thanks again.
The art of the thrown stone! great fun, scary dangerous with heavy stones..... scsary how fast you an turn those stones into bullets.... scary scary, but fun fun. Great to take kids and friends out to throw rocks. Newbies always are surprised how fun and natural it feels.
YES, moving targets seem more often better to aim at, as is all so fluid, flying birds were more likely to get hit that the badger hole across the river on the opposite bank, moving targets just seem to .... attract the slung stone.
I like to imagine a threat like a wolf or bear charging....... incentive increases accuracy for sure, but need to feel the weight swinging, even the figure eight is freakin deadly and quick, but with a long sliing, man...... feels like you can take down a wall with that shot.
Could you please decribe in detail what exactly you do with the shooting hand in the moment of release? The basics are clear. What I mean is: how (and when) do you aim with that hand? some say you have to point your Index finger on the target like when throwing a stone. Others say you have to make the same motion as when cracking a snakewhip. I've also read "lock the target between your index finger and thumb"
I guess it is all about the individual technique. I am not doing anything special with my hand, just opening it at the right time. For me it is all about timing. If anything I use a motion as if I was throwing a stone without a sling, but it happens intatively.
I have a sling, a dog and saliva. Thus the sling (balearic type) gets muddy soon with wet earth. How would you recomend to clean it? Having into account that its made of vegetal fibers... Thanks!
You could simply buy a wool sling. It is easier to clean it after it gets dirty with earth. It can be also be cleaned with water. We only use plant fiber slings for stone throwing.
At the point you have gotten your dog to fetch things, being grossed out by their saliva is no longer a concern. Lulu is a precious girl ♥ 10/10 Edit: So happy to have found your channel. One of the few channels I have the bell turned on...on.
We can throw the whole lenght of the lake at 3:10, so the stole land on the other side. The lake is 100 meters wide. So we can sling over 100 meters. With skipping Its hard to tell. Do you sling too? What's your max?
Fajnie to zrobiliście 👍Not to mention your linguistic skills.
Kind regards 👍

I live in Scotland and sling for my dogs every day. They get so excited when they see the sling come out.
I studied in Edinburgh! Same here. My dog has that unique look where I know she wants me to sling for her.
As a modern Balear slinger, i love that you keep our ancient art alive ❤

Super nice video, i enjoy slinging too, you forgot to mention that there are various styles of slinging, for the rest its a fantastic video.
@@-l-segret9554 we have discussed different styles in our slinging tutorial video. Thanks for the comment:)

Glad I found this channel! Killer video quality my dudes. Roma Caput Mundi.
just finding this now because it slipped through my subscriptions. amazing production value and great tips, bro
Haha tip#8! the reason I am looking at slings is exactly to throw balls for my dogs.

another good vid, I've always thought slings were under-rated. Mainly leaving a comment for the algorithm :)
How to you make the the black and white pouch sling in the beginning that he pulled out of his hoodie pocket?? Its amazing! Great funny video !
I don't make slings. This one I got from Tibet. Glad you enjoyed the video :)
What was the length of the sling you were using
The wool sling is 100cm and the hemp sling is 60cm. But we also have a 75cm hemp variant.
Is that wool sling from PetersJunk on etsy!?!? Those are so good!
@@derekgrizwald3157 no, these I bought from Tibet
