Totally agree about the new voice for Nancy. I will always miss Lani, but I think what makes it especially hard to accept the new voice is that to me it sounds, cold and robotic and too perfect? It kind of sounds like AI instead of a real human being with emotion and inflection. It is like the voice actress went into this with the mindset of being a video game character instead of trying to sound real.
also, just to point out that the new games art direction seems really strong. MID looked like the old games but the old games weren't in HD, so that's why I think it lacked a lot of detail. but it looks like they went cray with KEYs textures
You know, I listened to some of Brittany’s other roles and I really think that she does better conveying emotion than she does here which is where I think the issue is. Part of me wonders if there is a bit of trying to fill the Lani shoes and use iconic lines that are coming out robotic. I don’t know. I really don’t know who the issue is really because it could be the directing.

They’re newest game I actually quite enjoyed 😁 it’s of course very different from the games we grew up with, but I thought they did a pretty good job incorporating what we love about the series and implementing newer ideas too! Hopefully you can check it out and then come back and tell me what you think :-)

Tbh, after I commented, I got a little discouraged because then right after I noticed a recommended video that highlighted all the things wrong with the game (some of them actually pretty obviously bad tbh) but I couldn't move myself to get past even 5 minutes of the vid, and I realized balance is needed, right? Nothing is perfect. At this rate when it comes to ND games, I am just hoping to have some wholesome entertainment and nostalgia in my humble opinion. Stay awesome Carter!

I lean more in the upbeat camp about it, but only because I know how I felt when I played MID after the long anticipation, and I didn’t like it 😭 But felt quite the opposite after the play of this new game! I thought it had a lot of good things and charm that MID lacked. But I was hopeful after they made MID, though, because it was totally new for them. I just knew they would work the kinks out. And they really really did a good job of trying to do that with this one! I can tell what they listened to improve on, and I believe they’re going to do that again with game 35. It’s just gonna take a bit until they find a new groove, and I’m okay with that. 🥹 I’m hopeful they’ll continue making great games!
LOVE to see all the trailer breakdowns, and the amount of flailing you did over the little old man as you found more details in the trailer was delightful. 😂🫂 Cannot WAIT to play this game!!!
