I think a massive difference is the fact that dokkan can work with the actual area the characters battle in, making the scene feel more real when mountains or part of the land is destroyed.
Not just floating in mid air where it feels like the characters are too floaty.
It also helps with animations that literally require the area to look good

I think comparing the two games is pretty hard: Dokkan's animations are actual anime-like, drawn animations and therefore look good no matter what, the game's strength most of the time lies in its masterfully done OSTs. Legends, however, manages to put the characters and moments into 3D (which means making good enough models, effects, stages, sounds etc) and that in itself is commendable. I also think that Legends generally has more voice lines for the characters which is always nice to see.
The easiest conclusion imo is that Dokkan animations (given that they work with 2d sprites and can pretty easily replicate artstyles) are meant to be more cinematic as they can easily include background changes and unique osts for premium characters. Whereas Legends is a fighting game first and foremost, so while they can still replicate animations from the sourrce material, background changes and unique character osts are generally harder to implement on a character to character basis.
I will say that the biggest edge that Legends gets over Dokkan is that the foundation of the game itself is *way* better than Dokkan (in that they can use the enemy model for animations rather than have a 144p sprite being attacked in a 1080p animation)

The problem with comparing Dokkan to Legend in animation is that Dokkan will always have the upper hand, not because it's a better game (that is too dependent on who you ask), but because it literally is The anime in a cellphone at this point (so it has a lot going for him)
Edit: also, let's be real here, the fact that dokkan also worries in putting a ost on each moment makes them a lot more hype, emotional and recognizable (it definitely helps a lot compared to just a 3d animation paying homage)
But, either games are good on their on rights

Is simply not comparable. Legends' animations look like they're in a rush. Not the animations themselves, but the peace. It looks like the characters are going in x2 speed, that's why for example the LF Namek Goku on Legends, when saying the classic "You fool!" in japanese, feels like a voice crack, it doesn't have the strength, the feel, since it's so fast.
Because it’s a pvp game, not an puzzle bubble popping game. They’ve gotten better at pacing LF’s, as the old nameku got upgraded a few months ago into a newer polished version.
Because DBL is online pvp game and if it were to have animations as slow as dokkan Noone would play it
@@BloodStone__Honestly, that's just an excuse. You don't have to play Dragon Ball Legends for the pvp. You can earn all of The chronic crystals in the world from playing the game offline and doing other events where it's just PVE or co-op. So in actuality, it's just false equivalence.
You don't have to play the game just to go against people only. It's more expansive than that. You don't have to do that at all.
I'd like to hear a better argument from you besides Dokkan battle being just some puzzle bubble popping game. And even if it is, they still make more than double of what DBL makes. And probably has triple more downloads.
Yeah you're right. It is rushed and cringe. Honestly lots of the legendary finishes look too overdramatic for its own good.

I think u need to put in the description that all the in game footage is speed-up. some people will be confused who dont play the game
Dokkan has an advantage because for the LRs the background changes and it really does make the setting feel cool with the scenery changing for every super now whereas in legends it's cool LFs, pvp, cool units but we rarely get new maps or customization whereas with dokkan we get that often. (IM A YAPPER)
One problem Legends will always have compared to Dokkan is that Dokkan has backgrounds. Seeing Goku just slide on… nothing when he throws Frieza in Legends is so weird and just doesn’t look good, whereas Dokkan can actually have him sliding down a pillar to look a lot better

Yeah, I like Dokkan's use of backgrounds as well. It transports you to the moment it happens in the show, which is always cool. And yes, it does look better than Legends not using it, but at least in the Goku and Frieza example they tried to cover it and did pretty good
Idk, Legends will always have that… something that makes them look so stiff and lifeless, with Dokkan that’s exactly the opposite, the animations (specially in celebration DFEs) they go all out in the animations, making them sometimes better than the source material

@@deibos8546 I agree but if you also notice Dokkan is way more generous with stones (Outside of maybe Legends Anniversary). So it makes sense that stones cost more to buy because if they are easier to get for free you shouldn't need to buy so much. Tbh the cost difference feels not that much different because 50 stones compared to 1k Chrono Crystals is such a huge gap so you're still spending a lot of money to reach that 1k compared to 50

Dokkan is 2d and legends is 3d. Both are top tier in their own categories
i dont think so, dokkan for sure, but legends is not a top tier. The artworks are incredible dont get me wrong, but the actual character design in game looks not really amazing. I dont know, they look like in 480 hd, not in high quality. A top tier gacha game on 3d model is for sure 7ds grand cross or even the new black clover, im sorry

@@franzgamma I mean not really the 3d models have gotten better over the years but the older ones aren't touch to much and also it seems like they don't wanna change to look different ya know. It kinda adopted its own style and tries to gradually improve, you can see it in the new transforming.
Also change the setting and see the difference the game provides.

Yeah, Dokkan was smart enough to put ToP debris as a replacement to Kefla’s attack, meanwhile Legends Goku does the most unnecessary and clunky flip & grind for a normal ass Kamehameha

I dislike it when people compete legends and dokkan in animations and say “oh dokkan is better” I don’t disagree but let’s not get this wrong, we’re comparing a 3D fighter to a 2D game all about animations, they can’t do as much on legends as they can for dokkan, completely different and imp an unfair comparison

I agree, if anything that is my favourite part, the rest of the LF was literally taken from another unit, so I find it weird that of the entire thing he says the ending is not good

And that as a massive advantage of Dokkan in the current meta. IE how every new DFE/LR has atleast one OST with a voiced scene (Intro, Standby, Active or Revive) with some even having more. Like the 7th anni having 3 each (Intro, and 2 actives). AGL VB has the same setup.
Bro thinks Legends is anywhere close to Dokkan in terms of animation quality (no shade on Legends but they have a smaller team and do 3d instead of 2d so it isn't really fair). Like bro, how are the blue duo in Legends better than the Dokkan version, one is just a basic combo attack into beam that any characters can do while Dokkan has you fly around the lava background and has much better looking effects plus a way cooler explosion.
Different games, VERY DIFFERENT GRAPHICS, different thing the devs have to consider when making animationsn different means of having fun in each game, animations are incomparable, compating card arts makes so much nore sense.

Dokkan
Pros: 2D animation makes the SA similar to the anime making it more beautiful and detailed (most of the time)
Cons: The enemy sprite ruined the animation
Legends
Pros: The way enemy reacts to their special/ultimates makes the attack more impactful and responsive
Cons: It's 3D (Although Legends did their best to make the model look like the anime, I just think it's not too good looking unlike Kakarot)

Tbh i love both game equally. BUT DOKKAN IS BASICALLY FRAMES OF IMAGES. DBL IS 3D ANIMATION ANIMATED FROM 3D MODELS. Comparing it is not something to do considering 120+ 3d animations and 2d frames is just not really a fair competition. (Watch some Dokkan fan say "that's why it's so much better"

The simple fact that are you comparing a 2d animation with a 3d animation is mess up. Dokkan will be better on any animation because the animations are the same at the anime, but legends always make good units and animations considering the 3d models they use

Anime that's why The Animations for Dokkan Battle WILL LOOK WAY BETTER as opposed to Dragon Ball Legends whose Animations are NOT SO FAR OFF but can be a little better
3. •Dokkan Battle is like playing Jenga/Mancala/Tetris (Taking Blocks/Orbs/Marbles and stacking them on Top of one another)
•Dragon Ball Legends is like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 in which you can Micromanage/Manuever Your Characters/Units without having to worry about How to get to Your Opponent

Dokkan has great voicelines and ost's, but let's be honest, Legends is way better due to the fact that the game uses really good 3D models. It's not that i don't like 2D, it's that dokkan gives the impression it was made on PowerPoint. It would better if all the animation were like Beast Gohan's Ultimate or if the game had it's own animation style. It's great to recreate the original scenes in the game cuz that's what makes anime games great, but it would be better if they worked on the animation than just copy paste the images

Actually, you are wrong already. You shouldn't compare 2 different games.
That's literally what dokkan is, recreating the animations. They've been creating more dokkan original characters/animations recently (agl lr vb 18 ki, str lr future gohan, phy lr gogeta 18 ki). And they created that themselves, they didn't copy them.
Legends wins because the games are different in style and in legends you can play move and its 3d , 3d is harder to make and animate, meanwhile dokkan you're just a floating piece of paper that pop bubbles and do super attacks.
3d is actually way easier to animate than 2d animations, and dokkan recreated the whole ass scenes with minor differences. Literally looking identical
