Break tree, place logs in the 2 x 2 crafting area, turn to planks. Use 4 planks to make crafting table. Use crafting table to get a 3x3 area to craft in instead of the 2x2 from the inventory. Craft tools. Recipe will show up. Click and then grab that item from the left side.

The trick to dealing with night time is SKIP IT! Just sleep in a bed and it turns instantly to day. If you want to get further, you're going to need to start using a crafting table. Use the crafting table to make a pickaxe. You don't have to memorize the location of your crafting table, just break it and take it with you! Keep one on you at all times and put it down when you need it. Pick it back up when you're done.

I love that he takes the typical (hollywood) white person approach to danger. Sees spider webs, immediately runs into it and says "what is this?". Then goes to the water and has something flying at him, "what is that", and gets closer to the danger. Although, early game there's little consequence for death, even before he learns how death works.

The caves and cliffs update made my teen quit playing. She said her anxiety was high enough playing that game, then when they made it harder and scarier, she said "NOPE." She really hasn't played since. I told her she needs to get Java version so she can play where she was comfortable. But yes, for some people, this game can be pretty scary, or at the least, very anxiety inducing. Not everyone likes that. ETA: I also am not learned on the deep dark/warden areas yet and they terrify me. I accidentally summoned a warden once and I took off fast as hell out of there. It's easy to access while in-game, just go to the menu, hit options, and under Difficulty select Peaceful from the drop-down menu! She can just turn it back to Normal mode if she needs mob drops (ex: needing bones to tame a wolf) for any reason.
Then _SHE_ is in control of when the scary happens and can brace herself for it, otherwise the only dangers are fall damage, drowning, lava/fire, or y'know. huggin' a cactus lol

It's always so painful yet entertaining to watch someone play Minecraft for the first time.
It's painful because, well, people really need to understand that Minecraft is the type of game that requires a thinking brain as well as the fervorous intent to experiment constantly and commit basic actions to memory such as right clicking on usable blocks.
But it's entertaining when someone eventually cracks the code and figures it all out through very intense trial and error.

I am loving watching you experience this game for the first time. Honestly, i will give you the same advice my partner told me when i started to play a couple of years ago. Google is your best friend. If your having a hard time with anything google it!
Basically, the point of the game is to beat the ender dragon, however you can make this game into whatever you want to do. Want to build a giant city, you can. Want to build a zoo for every mob in the game you can!
If you click F3 a giant screen will pop up. This is filled with alot of good information, including your coordinates. Write down your base coordinates so you dont get lost while wandering around in your world (i constantly lost worlds before learning about coords)
First things you should do in your world: hit a tree with your fists. Use the wood you got from the tree to make a crafting table. Put three wooden planks at the top of the crafting table and two sticks in the middle of the crafting table and you will get a pickaxe.
Hit sheep and get wool. Get 3 wool and 3 wooden planks in the crafting table to make a bed. Beds are the way you sleep through the night and make sure mobs dont spawn near you(they will still spawn in caves, obviously)
This game is VERY overwhelming at first. I was a wiki warrior when i first started playing and even still i google things all the time. I hope you continue to play minecraft because it is a very fun game when you understand what you're doing.
Oh also (some think this is cheating but meh) if your getting annoyed with your inventory being lost every time you die you (when you start a new world) you can go through the settings and toggle keep inventory on when you die, that way all your stuff doesnt get lost when you go out adventuring. I found it extremely helpful when i first started playing

to the quote in the past episode, "i don't know why i'm doing this, but i'm doing it" is kind of the thesis statement of minecraft. i think as an experienced player i take it for granted the amount of things you learn in the first... *thousand* hours of the game (I have 2,000 hours AT LEAST 😭) while i think it's easy to see it as a negative, i think the lack of particular goals in the game is what makes it special. you don't know why you're doing stuff, but if you're having fun doing it, it's a fun game.

The learning curve is pretty steep if you don't have a clue what you're supposed to do. Wooden tools, namely a axe and a pickaxe are essential to begin with. Mine some stone, then make stone tools. Building a shelter of some kind and a bed to sleep through the night is essential. Sorting out a sustainable food source helps, too! Once you've established that, go looking for iron to make better tools than the wood/stone ones you have.

Right click a crafting table to get more recipes to make weapons and pickaxes. Use the weapons like swords and bows to kill the monsters and use the pickaxes to gather more resources. ok so here are the first steps you should make on your minecraft survival world:
    - get wood from trees
    - open your inventory, there you can craft everything that can be craftable on a 2x2 grid
    - use the wood you collected to craft planks, then use 4 planks to make a crafting table
    - place the crafting table and interact with it (right click), you can now craft anything on a 3x3 grid
    - you can start by crafting some sticks and then using said sticks + wooden planks to craft a pickaxe
    - use the wooden pickaxe to mine stone and coal so you can craft torches and stone tools (preferably a sword and a pickaxe)
    - now you can use your sword to kill animals and mobs to get food and other resources you'll need later on
    - craft a furnace using stone. you'll use it to cook food and smelt ores. there are many items you can use as fuel, like coal, wood and lava, but you'll be better using coal as it's the most efficient fuel in early game
    - killing sheep will drop wool which you can use to craft beds. they set your respawn point and skip the night so you can build your starter base
    - you can now explore your world more safely. you'll progressively earn better tools and armor by upgrading your gear
    - minecraft's progression usually goes like this: wood > stone > iron > diamond > netherite. although there are other ores you can find like gold, copper and emerald, these serve different purposes (copper is mostly for decoration blocks, gold and emerald are used as currency etc.)
    - eventually you'll find your way into minecraft's two other dimensions: the nether and the end, as well as learning potion brewing and enchantments, but that's better for you to find out on your own so i won't spoil anything beyond that.

  • @HaroldSink
    @HaroldSink 16 днів тому

Okay, you have it easier than I did when I first started minecraft when it first started.
The first thing to do is to chop down a tree with your hand. Second, turn your wood into planks. Then make your crafting table from a single block of planks. After that set your crafting table down. Then make some sticks from some of the planks. Now you can make your wooden tools. You need a sword, pickaxe and an axe.
Chup down as many trees with your wooden axe. Don't worry about collecting everything, especially the tree saplings. Make a small structure ASAP, and make sure you put a door on it. If you have time, get some sand and cobblestone. Make your oven, put the sand in the top after tapping on the stove, and put extra planks in the lower part of the stove. The sand turns into glass for your structure so you can have windows.
The sword protects you during the night, but until you can find enough diamonds at level 12 underground, kill cows for leather to make yourself some leather armor.
You need to find iron within the stone, smelt 2 iron in your stove, and put those on your crafting table to make shears. The shears will help you gain wool from the sheep. You need 3 wool and 3 planks of wood to make a bed. Now you can sleep at night and not have to worry too much about the mobs.
Creepers will always be around and if you are within one block of them they will blow up. Skeletons and Zombies can only survive in the day if they don't get out in direct sunlight. The spiders outside in the day will not attack you unless you attack them first. The same goes for the wolves.
Armor can be made from leather, iron, gold and diamonds. Obviously, diamonds are what you want but the are not easy to find. You can make bows from spider webbing after killing a spider, and use sticks with the string on the crafting table. You have to kill a few chicken/ducks to gather feathers, and shovel up a few blocks of gravel to get flint stones. The feather, flint stones and sticks make arrows at the crafting table. You could try killing skeletons to take their arrows.
Anyway, this is all just to get started. There is a plethora of things to craft, build and explore. Don't stare at the purple/black Endermen . They can kill you day or night. Good luck.
I know the pain of being a newbie. You can read the tutorial which really helps.

i just came across this series and I love it in a cringy cause of my own memories of doing things exactly like you did. Being so so so very confused my first few times playing and having absolutely no idea what, where, why, when, how, anything. I was exactly like you had never played never watched anyone play, had 0 idea of anything. Buy now I love the game it really scratches an itch of building and mining I enjoy for whatever reason, super relaxing to me.

As someone who plays minecraft as one of the three diffrent games i play at all. I must say it was very enjoyable seeing you play it as it reminds me of when i played it the for thw first time.
Just a few helpful tips. Minecraft is largely a sandbox game where you do what you feel like some enjoy creating buildings some just runt around exploring
Some like me build machines to hord resourses. So figure out what you would like and do that. Secondly if you have trouble with hunger and evil mobs go into settings and switch to peaceful difficulty as it will give you a pass from all that.

Please play more of this! Also, you can interact with the crafting table by right clicking it, which allows you to craft more advanced stuff than what you can craft in your inventory, such as tools.

Generally you should have have the intention in mind to build something, to create - like the house you always had on your mind or a whole base or village. Thats the main goal in my opinion - the survival aspect is only there to keep u busy and create a living and breathing, interesting world

  • @IllegalPizza777
    @IllegalPizza777 5 місяців тому +2

At night time you can sleep (and skip the night) by right clicking a bed that you can make with wool (dropped from sheep) and wood.
Or you can kill the mobs to get materials from them (for example skeletons drop bones which are used to craft a lot of other things) but to do that you'll need to craft a sword so you can actually kill them.
You need the crafting table to make more complicated things. In your inventory you only have a 2x2 crafting space but on the table you have a 3x3 and most items need the extra space to actually craft them

it's entertaining for sure, but i'm honestly surprised it takes so long for Drew to figure out the base mechanics. I mean, i couldn't figure out what the goal was either, but i understood you must survive and as the name literally says, mine and craft. I figured that part out in minutes and then just had to use logic as to what does what and for what purpose.

Right click: use. Use on, use this, interact, whatever, it's just "use". If you don't know what it is, try "using" it. Like a crafting table, or a furnace. Experiment with using things, using items or tools on things, etc. For example, you had seeds. Usually you need farmland to plant seeds, not plain dirt or grass. If only you had some kind of farming implement and dirt or grass near some water to use the implement on, to create a suitable place for the seed to grow...

  • @СветланаКузьменко-з4и

To activate a crafting table, rightclick on it. Only sand and gravel cah fall, if you see them float, dont go under them as placing or breaking a block next to them makes them fall. The pressure plate inside the temple is a trap, dont step on it and just break it, also may get the tnt underneath. when you find a new one, just fall straight down as a fall from this height is not killing you
