Gamer Plays Minecraft for the FIRST time (part 3)

- The Minecraft trilogy comes to an end! Making these Minecraft videos has been incredibly fun, and you have all been so helpful in the comments. Thanks to all of you, I finally understand . . . a tiny bit. It's a great start lol. Building video games aren't my thing, so I'm surprised how fun and absolutely ridiculous this has been. I'm retiring minecraft for now so I can play some other games for the first time, but mark my words, minecraft will return. What other gaming videos do you think I should do? Let me know in the comments!

"There's nothing to mine here''
Looking at exposed stone, iron, coal and bronze while holding a ⛏️
Bronze? There's no bronze
I think you mean copper
@@Dmarkea315 oh yeah haha sorry my bad
*copper* bronze is an alloy most known between copper and tin. In some bronze alloys zinc is also added
@@kingwesleyXIV that's interesting. But it's also not in Minecraft. Unless you were talking to tanduay5years707 more than me. In which case, you can just ignore this.
Wood pickaxe can break stone and coal.
Stone pickaxe can break iron.
Use furnace to smelt iron.
Use coal to fuel furnace.
Wood mines stone
Stone mines iron/copper
Iron mines (almost) everything else
*Silk touch enchantment on the pickaxe is also essential for some blocks
@@eemilyy342 I don't think iron can mine obsidian.
@@jonadabtheunsightly he means *ALMOST* everything cant you read? sorry for being mean too
@@Igorson142 Don't feel sorry. People have issue readings words like "almost", "maybe", "perhaps" and they need a serious push into learning them to stop acting snarky when they are the problem.
NOOOOO Please keep going, you're on a streak and if you leave the game, whenever you come back it'll be back to basics!
did he give up? 😞
NO!!!
Honestly, him being so slow and not even reading comments or looking up tips
Maybe it's better if he didn't play
@@MatthewCYN15everyone's a miner, they just have to find there inner crafter...
@@lightningjadejavier No, he's just a bit slow.
I literally shed tears the moment he got that wooden pickaxe!! FINALLY!!
And then he broke sand with it and thought it was faster
I'm not going nuts because he's making mistakes...
I'm going nuts because he's making the SAME mistakes _repeatedly_ >.
🤣
No cap it now 12:30.night.
I was like. I just want him to make that pickaxe 🥺.
The feeling when something useful popup on output colum of crafting tabel, it's pure happiness
Cave man discovering fire moment 😭
Real quick tips here:
1. When you attack a creature, there's a little sword-shaped bar below the attack. Wait until that bar fills back up to attack again, or else you're breaking your weapon quickly and not dealing much damage. When the bar is full, it does the most damage possible (the amount listed when you highlight the item)
2. Wooden pickaxe mines the gray stone you see in all the caves and on the ground. You will get cobblestone from it, which you can use to make better tools than wood. Upgraded tools deal more damage, are faster, and break slower. Wood pickaxes can also break coal (stone with black spots).
3. Stone pickaxes can be used to break Iron (Stone with light brown spots), Copper (Stone with orange and teal spots), and Lapis Lazuli (Stone with dark blue spots). Iron is the most important of these because they can be smelted using coal or other burnable materials in a furnace (which is made from 8 cobblestone)
4. Shovels break dirt, grass, sand, and clay faster.
5. Hoes break leaves and hay faster, and can also be used to plant crops.
6. Axes mostly just break wood faster, but make for good weapons.
7. To make a bed, you need wool from killing sheep, or killing spiders and making wool out of their string.
8. The fishing rod was correctly being used in water, you just have to wait for some bubble particles to move towards it and then the rod should dip below the water and make a splash noise. You pull the rod back in as soon as you hear the noise. This can get you fish to eat, and has a rare chance of giving you either junk or treasure.
That should be enough tips to get you through the next video. The game is really awful at giving you instructions because it relied so heavily on YT for people to share all their knowledge.
P.S. If you are looking for a specific item in the recipe book, there is a search bar at the top to look it up.
You wrote a paragraph I like it
yappity yap
Honestly this game is a community thing
It’s the sort of thing you figure out with friends or community members like this, otherwise I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t even know the nether exists lol
@@Igorson142I have the option to translate what you wrote into English and when I do it translates to (make yappity) lol
@@Igorson142 if it takes you more than 30 seconds to read it, go back to school
16:25 Bro doesn't even know the first rule of fishing... Patience.
I thinked the same thing. Like man, try to wait a bit
It's just instinctive to wait a bit.
I think he's doing some of these antics for views tbh.
As Captain America teached us.
To be fair, having a fishing mechanic, and also actual fish, and not having the two be related at all in very confusing.
“there’s nothing to mine” MINE THE STONE PLEASE OMFGGGGG
Him holding the hay without knowing why the cows were following him made me genuinely laugh.
Yes, very funny.
Also, I stopped play before the dromes be add and I already know we feed em w cactus 😂.
Basic minecraft :
-Find wood, make a crafting table, make wood tools and lots of sticks. (sticks for torches, ladders...)
-Upgrade your tools using wood pickaxe to grab stones
-Get food with your sword or axe that you made with stones earlier
-Kill sheeps to get 3 wools of the same color and get some wood to make a bed
-Build your house with dirt, wood or stone, then place your bed somewhere inside. Make a door too. If you make your house big enough, make a bedroom, a room for crafting (make a stone furnace too), a room for storage (wood chests).
-To avoid monsters spawning too near from your house, find coal and sticks to make torches, and place them near the house and a bit around it.
Then once you got all your tools, your house and all, you should mine down near your house to go get iron, lots of stone, more coal and other stuff you find underground. Then go back home and stash stuff. Then do whatever you like.
Thanks for all the info! This is very helpful
@@DrewGoodHelp when 4 part video ? because your 1,2,3 videos so stupidly lasting time for adventure, breaking stones, earth without tools
@@DrewGoodHelp part 4 please and try to follow the above information
@@Mikeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee x2!!
agree with all, except the sheep part, he's right next to a village already so it's easier to steal them from the villagers. Also, take all the hay bales from the village for loads of food
So funny. Walking around with wheat in his hands wondering why the cows are following! So fun to watch when they have no idea. Wish you'd keep this series up!
"Is that a hammer? What is that? ... Oh that's a camel's ass!" I almost fell out of my chair from laughing 🤣🤣🤣
I think he wanted to say hamburger 😂
I’ve played this game for years and years but the camel is relatively new, never looked at its butt. I was confused too, I thought “oh it must have gotten shot by a skeleton, it’s got an arrow in its butt.” But then I realized that I never looked at that camel closely before! Haha
6:51 "ther's nothing to mine here" while LITERALLY standing on top of copper and stone is WILD 😭
Dude, the more you play, the more you learn. Seriously, us "hardcore" minecrafters are reliving our tender years through you. Not a time we can ever get back!!
Not only that, you're funny with it! It's great to witness your journey.
I love watching people discover minecraft. It's so confusing in the beginning but when we understand the mechanics it's so much fun
😂 14:00 😂 bro really embraced the villager life, "protect me!"
😂😂😂😂 Thanks for the likes. I just realized I've been watching 'let's play on easy mode' minecraft so much and confuses all these videos. So now instead of saying iron golem, I said Jeffery. Bet the guy is gonna be so confused. 😅
I've never been so entertained and annoyed at the same time watching a gameplay. I hope this continues hahaha. Tip: you can make tools from stone. They last longer, just replace the planks with blocks of stone. To get stone, use a wooden pickaxe, then stone drops when broken. Same can be done with other stuff, like iron to replace stone, then diamonds to replace iron.
Weirdly, it’s the same reason adults enjoys observing young children as they experience new things. We are all desensitized to the world of Minecrafter and watching someone fresh to the world experience it for the first time brings back that sense of joy and wonder from discovering the world.
the cow are following you because you had straw in your hand if you feed both of them they will make more cows the same with sheep which you need to make a bed
Ok, so another spoonful of basics. Use pickaxe to mine STONE, then craft stone tools, that's a tier better meaning it digs faster, but also more items drop stuff, like the thing you were breaking and wondering why it doesn't drop anything, cause wood tier is too low for it. Try to use the achievement page as a guide, thats not spoilers its useful steps to take.
Also chests and a funace are important things to craft.
For combat use sword, and dont spam attack, but look at the little bar just under your crossheir and swing when it fills up (its about once per second or so IDK)
As for fishing just like in real life, you cast the line look at the floater and wait for the fish to bite, then you reel back, dont just spam it.
these are fascinating - mostly because you're not supposed to play minecraft blind. you just aren't - there are so many things you will never figure out if you're playing blind. but it's incredible to watch people try.
1:47 what did you just call that distinguished gentleman????!
Please keep going. You don't know how amazing it is to see someone learn to play this game from day 1.
I like them specifically because you don't know what you're doing. It's vicariously reliving the process of discovery.
When you finally made the pickaxe... I got a little misty-eyed
So real 😂
"im surprised there's no sea monsters in this game" yeah there is, they're called drowned
@Nintendo_Switch_player and guardians! A guardian temple is gonna freak him out lol
I googled SO many things when I first played Minecraft. Still do often even many years later.
3:55 as soon as he made a pickaxe, I knew he was ready. It was like watching your kid graduate kindergarten.
Literally
"What am i going to do with 3 freagin doors?!"
Well that's a question i've asked for ten years
There are times when it seems like he's just doing stupid things on purpose, he already knows all the controls and doesn't try to use them in other stuffs, like breaking the bed and taking it to the pyramid, or using the pickaxe to mine stone, but rather wood, sand and dirt
Dude has no logical thinking xD I mean in the first video he knew he should build a crafting table, but 15 mins later he wonders why there are no tools... like wtf, as a "gamer" i think it should be pretty obvious what to do. But who am i to judge.
He's an FPS gamer 🎮
@@dibel3669 Interesting to discover that fact, thanks for sharing.
I gave up FPS games because it was too fast paced and not enough opportunity to think ahead.
Interesting to see a gamer in the exact reverse, as their muscle memory.
Hes leaving floating trees, the first cardinal sin of minecraft 😔
Longer episodes please. It's very fun watching you discover minecraft. You're only scratching the surface
Headline "Gamer discovers mouse has two buttons!" :D
Minecraft isn't just a building game. When you get swords and armor you can go fight stronger monsters and find dungeons-alike
Low key he’s a natural at finding out how to do things when he’s completely clueless. The conviction is great. Great instincts too.
Natural... Till you consider ep1 and half of ep2 😅
Hello, I do not know if you have already been prompted or not, but if you right-click on a villager, you will be able to trade with him. They sell everything for the local currency - emeralds! But you can also sell them something... Many residents sell valuable items: food, tools, Armor, books and enchanted books!
man i love drew
Bro said there's nothing to mine as he walks past copper, coal, and iron.
Each type allows you to break certain blocks. Wooden pickaxe Is only stone and coal.
Stone pickaxe adds Copper, iron and Lapis ore,
8 cobblestone( from mining stone) in a craft table gives you a furnace.
In a furnace 1 coal smelts 8 ore
Turn the iron ore to ingots using the hit above
Craft an iron pickaxe and get access to redstone, gold, emerald and Diamond ore.
3 Diamonds is a pickaxe this allows you to get obsidian
I'm loving the Minecraft series and just wanted to let you know that I'm so proud of you for finally figuring out how to make tools 😭
runs out of room in inventory, ignores the chests he has that can store stuff.
Wants better tools, but ignores the recipes in the crafting table to make them
wants armor, but needs the better tools to mine iron
Why you gotta roast the villagers like that 😂 they can’t help it
Nice progress, Drew, your epiphanies are a delight to behold! You're on your way to an enriching adventure should you choose to continue. I'd certainly tune in!
one can never forget that feeling of crafting your first pickaxe and sword
theres so much more to learn... dude u have to make this a series!!
Tips: Pickaxe is used to mine stones and ores that can be used to build tools and valuable items, Axe is used to cut wood faster and wood is important for building items, Sword is used to attack enemies, Hoe is used to prepare the land to plant seeds that will grow and produce food, Shovel is used to dig dirt and sand faster, Scissors are used to cut wool from sheep to build a bed and when you sleep in the bed it becomes your new spawn point, also you can put one bed in your inventory so you can sleep anywhere, if you try to do something with the wrong tool it will be useless and will break quickly, a lighter is used to set fire to things or enemies or to ignite a portal to another dimension (literally another dimension), You can build a small wooden boat to sail much faster across the ocean, it is possible to create a wooden fence to trap animals and breed them and plant vegetables like on a farm to have a constant source of food and supplies.
Some possible objectives.
Simple objective: Build a house of wood or stone and try to plant vegetables and breed animals, press the right button at a Villager and to purchase items.
Objective of medium difficulty: Create a portal or find one around the world, light it with a lighter and go to another dimension.
Hard objective:Fight any boss or just Finish the game by defeating the Dragon. (The name of some items I mentioned may be different in your game because I used Google translate and I don't know if the translation is correct.)
Few tips without spoiling anything. A wooden pickax can break stone into cobblestones which can be used for stone tools like a stone pickax. Tools have a progressive steps to them Wooden tools can break simple things stone tools can break slightly more things. By clicking with the “use” action on chests placed on the ground you can open them and store items inside. You have a chest inside your inventory. There are two easy methods to make a bed. Both involve sheep. The easy way is to kill the sheep (there are an infinite amount so don’t worry too much about killing animals) the second involves getting iron which takes a while when your new.
Lastly it’s counter intuitive but hitting faster doesn’t mean more damage. Each weapon has a cooldown. Where your crosshairs a sword shaped bar will appear whenever you attack. The bar will become transparent when you attack and become more opaque as it comes off cooldown. If you wait till off cooldown attacks will be significantly stronger.
your damage increases if you wait for the sword below your crosshair to go disapear before each hit
This reminds me of when i first played minecraft 🤣 With no clue how to make anything or what your supposed to do, these videos are enertaing and I look foward to you figuring things out
This has been a treat. Its been a long time since I've laughed at something so simple. I love the "figure it out as I go" approach knowing just how many of us are laughing and yelling at the screen. Its actually a fun, simple game that is a great time killer. But you can really dive into it with "projects." I've found myself burning hours making giant maps of the entire area. Just for no reason other than because...
Awww man the fishing, too funny! Thx for that! 😂
“This world is not safe” - definition of Minecraft 😂😂😂
Am I correct to assume that it took the guy several hours to get the "craft" part of "Minecraft"?
3:51 finally you really understood the second part of the word MineCraft. ;)
Yes, think shaped crafting. We didn't even have books back in the day. Just try mining everything with a pickaxe. Get some stone and then make a stone pickaxe and a stone sword and other tools. You need tools.
[log -> 4 planks -> crafting table] , [2 planks vertical = stick], [right click on crafting table -> using 2 sticks vertical in the middle of 9x9 grid + 3 planks on top = Wooden pickaxe]
3:46 dude I actually screamed out of joy when you finally made the pickaxe😂😂😂
This is painfully addicting to watch... On to the next episode!
haha I'm glad
I'm guessing he doesn't fish irl either.
4:02 "oh its so much faster" while mining sand 😂 that had me cracking for a solid 30 seconds
It's a shame you're going on hiatus from MC. If you think you're doing poorly, you're really not. Learning by playing alone is certainly a longer process, but ultimately more entertaining to watch as content. You should check out other gaming youtubers playing it for the first time. Just to help you realize you're on par with them when they first started.
First off, loved your video, cool watching someone try to figure out the game for the first time. Just a few quick tips. For the fishing rod, you need to wait a little bit for bubbles to form before you pull it out, and you may need to do it a few times before getting a fish or some other item.
While you can use just about anything to break any block, some tools and materials are more proficient. For example you need a pickaxe in order to pick up any stone or ore. You also need a stone pickaxe to mine copper, iron, etc. (not coal) IMPORTANT: You need an iron pickaxe to mine diamond or obsidian. You can make iron ingots from raw iron in a furnace which can be constructed from 8 cobblestone (mined from stone) in the crafting table. Iron can also be used to craft armor in the crafting table. You can use coal/charcoal or anything wood for fuel for the furnace. The furnace can also be used to make charcoal, cooked food, other ingots, etc. Diamond tools are more efficient than iron. Same go for iron to stone and stone to wood. A shovel is better at breaking dirt, sand, gravel, etc. An axe is better at breaking wood in all forms (doors, chests, boats, etc.) The pickaxe also has more attack damage than the sword which is something to keep in mind. The pickaxe is better at breaking all forms of stone. The durability of each tool will wear down faster if they’re not used for their appropriate blocks (pickaxe on dirt, sword on stone, etc). The hoe is basically only good for tilling dirt and breaking crops. A sword (and an axe) can be used as a weapon.
You can break someone else’s bed and take it with you or craft your own with 3 planks and 3 wool (from killing or shearing sheep). Right clicking or sleeping in the bed sets your respawn point so you’ll go back there when you die. You can collect fallen items after you die but they will despawn in 5 real world minutes. You can craft torches from coal placed on top of a stick in either crafting table. You can open a chest by right clicking it and use it to store your extra items. You can either break a villagers chest or craft one with 8 planks. Warning: chests will spill their contents when broken. Sticks can be crafted in the crafting table using 2 planks on top of one another. Boats can be crafted using 5 wood planks. Right click to get in, shift to get out. Boats make traveling across water much faster and safer.
Those tall dark slender creatures with purple eyes are called Endermen. They can move around in the daytime, teleport (including inside your house) and occasionally pick up and drop blocks. They won’t attack you so long as you don’t look the eyes or attack them. If they engage you, you can hide under a two block roof which they can’t get under. They’re also afraid of water.
You can view your coordinates by pressing f3 or your keyboard or by going into settings and clicking show coordinates. You can then use those coordinates to keep track of where you and your house are on the map. Be sure to pause streaming when you do this as clicking f3 will also reveal a lot of other information about your PC.
Copper Ore at 8:44
Iron Ore at 6:46
One last thing, if you go into settings, you should see a tab called “How To Play” somewhere. This is a detailed guide from Mojang that’ll tell you everything you need to know about how to play the game.
If you jump, you can place a block below you making you get high fast.
You can put blocks anywhere if you connect it to other blocks. Generally they don't react to gravity but there are blocks like sand which are the exception.
Please keep making these videos! I love watching your first-time experiences of this. It's so great :D
Drew: *Holding cow's food* "You two are following me around a lot"
“Why does it not tell you you can right click on it?”
**was not told you had to right click a door, yet figured it out anyway**
Please play more o.o maybe watch a short basic tutorial video but id love to see more plz. Also, fast swimming is bound to ctrl too, so when you changed it idk if fast swim works anymore. Id recommend just getting used to the default controls.
You gotta keep going man, I just found your channel and this series is great. Do some reading up on the basics and you’ll be having a blast before you even know it. There’s just so much to this game!
"nothing to mine here" while walking on iron and passing by tons of coal. My heart 😂😂😂😂
Very entertaining vids. Just watched Minecraft 1,2, and 3. Waiting for the rest...
These videos are fun because it's very rare for someone to play Minecraft completely cold. I started in infdev/early alpha (so late 2009 or early 2010), and even back then (or maybe especially back then, since there wasn't a recipe book), my friends and I relied on each other to share tips because there was too much in the game to be able to figure everything out on your own. Now, there's like 5x as much content as there was back then, so figuring it out on your own is an incredibly daunting task.
You hiding behind the Iron Golem so that he takes care of the zombie child for you is one of the funniest things I have ever seen
Lmao “what am i doing with this big thick rod in my hand” that is so many levels of messed up lol
Genuinely loving you learn and play minecraft, and i saw your community post about you continuing to play soon, I really hope that happens! ❤
This series actually makes me laugh out loud over and over. Please continue 🙏🏻
So proud of you finally figuring out the crafting table!
It reminds me of the pain I suffered when I was first playing Minecraft. And I had watched videos of people playing it first. But I still died, a lot.
The hard cut to him admiring the villager's green eyes while they slept had me cackling ahaha loving the progression!f
I know as much Minecraft as you do but please go on with this series, it is so much fun 😊
I love how you’ve moved into this community and know everyone lol the cows, the camel, Jeffery, and the villagers
Hey Drew, I enjoy you figuring everything out. Would love to see you keep playing, because once you get the hang of things, this game can be really really fun. The sprint thing was related to your food bar, when you have three or fewer food/chicken wings left, you are unable to sprint anymore.
Lmao, I totally relate. My daughter got me into minecraft a couple years ago and these vids remind me of my first few hours playing.
7:28 Sand can be smelted in a furnace to make glass and can be use to make decoration blocks like sandstone on ton of other stuff
Jeffrey is a nice guy, but never hit Jeffrey. ☠☠
Just so you dont walk around without any purpose anymore: with an axe you can mine wooden things faster, with a shovel you can mine blocks like dirt sand and gravel faster, with a pickaxe, you can mine hard things faster (like stone, the gray blocks on the ground). Also, if you have stone, you can make the tools out of stone so that they are faster and have more durability. Also, to make a bed, you have to kill sheep (i‘m sorry lol) to get wool. Also, you can kill mobs like zombies, spiders and also animals with a sword! Keep going with the series, I love it!
Just had UA-cam recommend your Minecraft video. It's fun watching you discover how this works. When I started I got frustrated with being clueless and looked it up.been building in this game for over 10 years. Tried Fortnite for 30 minutes and got bored. Please keep trying Minecraft. I'll look out for your video's onbit

This is a great series so far.

We keep watching them because we want to see if you can ever figure out the very basics of the game. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion...
Please keep playing Minecraft. It’s so fun watching you try to figure out the game.
It's refreshing to see someone freshly explore the experience of Minecraft.

Loving these videos.. Just started playing a couple weeks ago and was the same way. Had to ask my son what to do. 😂
More please.. you'll love it eventually. Takes a bit of time. This is one of the best games ever.
We like these videos because it reminds us veteran players of our early days on Minecraft, we were all just like you in the beginning
