HUGE TUNA at Norfolk Canyon! My personal best yellowfin 158#, Laurie's 1st tuna(s) and mahi!

Part 2 of our offshore fishing trip to the Norfolk Canyon on June 19, 2021. Laurie and I went offshore fishing on a date. in the first video, as we were putting out our first baits of the day, we caught a nice 300 pound class blue marlin on standup tackle. In this video, after we release the blue marlin, we continue fishing for tuna. Laurie catches her first yellowfin tuna, then her second yellowfin tuna, then she catches a nice mahi mahi. our last bite of the day was a huge yellowfin tuna that ended up weighing in at 158#. This is my personal best yellowfin tuna and is the current Virginia state leader for yellowfin tuna. I have been tuna fishing professionally for tuna for over two decades and it was very cool to catch this fish with Laurie on her first time catching tunas. The fight on this fish was actually 40 minutes long but I edited it down to 5 minutes. Laurie did a great job gaffing a fish for her first time! What a first fish to gaff!
