You and your sneak peaks, I hate you. 😂😂😂
18th at Pebble in the Sunset. WOW!
Special place!
I played Pebble Beach once, maybe 30 years ago, and it’s still my FAVORITE course I’ve ever played. My wife asks, “Don’t you want to play it again?” I always say, “No”. I don’t want to ruin the memory. I can remember every single hole. It was that memorable. 👍🏻
That was an incredible birdie on #8 👊🏻 … arguably the toughest hole I’ve EVER played.
Nice VLOG
… keep up the good work. 👊🏻
I hear ya. I've been lucky enough to play there 3 times. I always say that - even if there weren't a golf course on the Monterey Peninsula - it would still be my favorite place in the World. Hard to resist playing there when I can!
Hey Adam,
Wanted to let you know I shot a personal best 3+ (39 through nine holes) this week and I attribute so much of the development of my game to you. In a funny way I feel like your channel has given me permission to “swing my swing” and I’ve been doing that to the tune of lower scores and more enjoyable rounds so far this winter (I play year round in the southeastern US).
I appreciate what you do and I always look forward to the content you put out! Know that there is a whole community of us who are grateful for you bro
Thanks so much for the kind words, and congrats on the 39, Daniel!!
I'm 2 minutes in and I have a request. I love the tidbits of info you put at the top. Very interesting. But to read them and watch the golf is near impossible unless you're a speed reader, which I am not...lol. So I hit pause to read them but because of their placement, the info gets hidden behind the video title that pops up when you pause.
Might I suggest either (1) lowering that on the screen so it isn't blocked out or (2) freezing the golf behind it for 3-5 seconds so the tidbits that you obviously researched and included for our enjoyment (extra work on your part btw, tyvm) can be read. Thanks so much and Happy Holidays Adam.
Ok finished the video and not every tidbit of info was blocked out. Some were fine. Fine round out there. That rough makes my stomach hurt.
Appreciate the feedback!!@@allieandbo
Dang dude! Considering where you were playing at, HELLAVA ROUND!!! 💪👍
Thank you!
The little facts were amazing. Please do more like that :D
Thanks, and will do!
Really solid round. Putter was 🔥
Thanks!!
I ducked on 10 when the ball came flying toward the camera LOL
lol I had the same reaction while editing!
Love the beach shot on the 10th attacking your equipment
Lol. It's funny, the second I hit it, I thought, "oh man that might hit the camera!"
Adam, it was fantastic sharing this amazing day in Pebble with you guys! I'll always cherish the memories you captured during that fabulous round. Your video perfectly encapsulates the essence of the day and this lasting memento. From Caracas EduardoW
Thanks, Eduardo! I'm so happy you found the vid and enjoyed! It was great playing with you!!
Nice tidy video. The lob wedge on 3 was wicked to land softly off the green and trickle up to tap in territory. WICKED!!!,
I appreciate your approach to the game and your time spent sharing. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the kind words. Yeah that shot on 3 was a highlight. It was quite a bit harder than it appeared due to the lie and how little I had to work with. Luckily it worked out!
So many up & downs 👍
Thank the golf Gods or that score would have been HUGE!
This is the dream: you play pebble, you're swinging great, and it's sunny out. nobody deserves it more than you Adam.
Lights out with the short game…nice round. You made so many clutch putts.
Thanks man
That chip on 3 was absolutely world-class.
Amazing golf course, amazing round!!! Congrats Adam!!! Pebble Beach is on my bucket list for sure
Thanks, Huascar! Looking forward to getting the meetup details finalized!
@@NotAScratchGolfer Looking forward for the details of the meetup and meeting you guys up!!!
Great video. Got to go play Pebble.
Thanks! How was your trip? Where else did you play?
Haven’t yet. Meant I need to go play Pebble. Poor use of grammar. 😂
Great day and good round. Looks like you had awesome weather, sun and no wind. Definitely on our must play list for my wife and I.
Thanks! And yeah, Pebble tops my list of #1 public courses to play in the world. The setting alone is worthwhile, and that stretch from 6-10 is easily the best stretch of holes I can imagine.
Gorgeous! Thanks for the video. Hope to play it one day, it’s on the bucket list
Thanks!
LOL, I flinched when the ball moved toward the camera at the 10th hole. Very well played mate!
Lol I did it while editing the vid.
miracle worker with the flat stick adam. great round.
Thanks, man!
Any birdie on #8 always impresses the hell out of me. Well done.
Love this course. Hoping I get to play it before I die.
This is clutch, my father in law and I are playing in 3 weeks!
Awesome man, hope you enjoy! Where else are you playing down there?
@@NotAScratchGolfer Thanks! Also playing Spanish bay and Del Monte
Beautiful course. Great camera work Adam.
Thanks, Steve!
Nice round Adam and jealous over here. What's the general process for how one would get on a waitlist to play without staying at the property? I couldn't quite decipher an answer from their website but it seems like that's what you might have done?
Fantastic round.
4:31 I flinched on this recovery shot from the beach!😂
Lol so did I while editing
The shot on hole 10 that almost hits the camera looks awesome on video! To end the year, I think you should build a video with all your bad shots of 2023 and your most amazing shots. I think it would be a cool video.
I love watching your videos!
Thanks, Travis! Have been thinking of doing that! It's a lot of footage to sift through :p
Enjoyed the facts and info, Adam!
Thanks, Jonny!
Looks like you're getting more comfy, the more you play it.
Definitely the type of round where I wasn't particularly worried about how I played.
Wow
Loved that putt on 8. The stuff of dreams. Well done Adam. If I'm in the SF area, we will have to play the Presidio. I worked there 10 years ago.
Thanks, Luke! Indeed that bird on 8 was special! I absolutely love Presidio. Will try to announce on the channel when I'm in the Bay Area next!
Cracking video there. Well played
Thanks!
Love your content, Adam!
Thank you!
Your first two shots on 6 were the nicest swings I've seen you put on a ball. (Been watching since 2020). Very nice round, and I'm very jealous.
Keep it up, Adam.
Thanks so much. The ball wasn't traveling far out there but my drive on 6 definitely felt like the best one I hit all day.
@@NotAScratchGolfer got to remember you're not a scratch golfer, so who cares if every drive isn't 270 plus?
Adaaammmm that hole 3 chip was immaculate
Thanks!
Nice video
Thanks!
Been a viewer of the channel for a while now ; and trying to pickup how you wiggle out of trouble to recover shots all the time. Great job Applause on that.
PEBBLE BEACH LETS GO
Lfg!!!!!
That double tap might be the luckiest shot I’ve seen you hit lol. Always a pleasure to watch you play a great course
Lol yeah that one worked out. Thanks for the kind words!
A miserable pedant (me) enters the chat: does that not count as two shots? 🤨
Great round Adam!
Thanks, Joe!
Amazing video and loved all the course intel! Now we just need that putting video ;)
Thanks! I swear the putting video is coming!
If I were you I would rather be playing Pebble than video editing too@@NotAScratchGolfer ! My putting game needs it right now... If you're still in CA and planning to head further south, Sand Canyons was absolutely stunning (just don't film it and make it famous).
Thanks! Heading back to Canada in the next few days but I'll add it to my list!@@whaleshark2625
Do they give you the pebble beach logo on 18th green as you finish. Its about the diameter of a soda can.
Yes!@@ag358
Very nice round!
Thanks!
Do you know those dudes you were playing with? Is it ever awkward filming and playing with strangers?
This was a very rare instance when I was joined by strangers and still filmed. Wasn't awkward at all. They were both joined by several family members...who were all shooting tons of video and taking tons of pics. Luckily, one of the guys who joined us was a channel viewer, too!
Awesome video 💯
Thanks, Charles!
I like this annotated version.
Thanks for the feedback!
Best UA-cam putter
Hey Adam,
I enjoy watching your videos and the content you provide for us not scratch golfers. One recommendation I have is blend your clips together through a slower transition. Your videos switch scenes from shots too quickly. I have to watch your videos on 0.75x instead of normal speed. Just something to consider when doing your video editing. Cheers to a good 2024.
Man a birdie on 8. That is what people dream of, fantastic job on that hole and a pretty good round. Just my opinion but I am a firm believer in playing a course from the tees that are 36 times your 5 iron distance. I think you tend to play courses a little too long for how far you hit the ball (as I see you were playing pebble from 6,452) of course you need to play the tees you enjoy. I hit a 5 iron about 160 at sea level and would have played the whites or greens. I think you would have more fun playing shorter irons into the greens (especially ones as small as Pebble)
Great video as usual
I like that theory, too. The options were a little less than optimal - it was either ~6400 yards or ~5900. I chose the former.
I think that the ridiculous distance current tour pros get has changed people's opinion on tees for the worse. I see frequent online commentary that one should have pitching wedges and 9 irons as your typical second shot (we'll ignore the loft creep that make some pitching wedges the equivalent of my old blade 7 iron). This was never common for golf before tour pro's started averaging 300+ yards with their tee shots.
I fear the goalposts are going to continue to move, over the next several years as we have multiple par 4's turn into drivable par 4's on tour the refrain for amateurs will be 'move up a tee box if you can't drive that short par 4'...
Adam routinely posts scores in the 70's on courses up to 6900 yards. I'm not sure how enjoyable as a viewer it would be to see him taking on 320 yard par 4's and flipping sand wedges in as his 2nd shot. He'd probably have to change the channel to 'Now a scratch golfer'.
Wow birdie on 8!
Noticed the guy in black didn’t shake your hand. Were you guys beefing on the course?
haha no that's my buddy Dan! He and I played a match in one of my first videos! He and I traveled to Pebble together. Time of our lives. We were joined by two singles. Good guys!
@@NotAScratchGolfer Yeah I was like damn what a snub, all because he walked in front of the tracer one time! Great video and round Adam!
lollll. Dan's the man. Shot a super solid 80 at Pebble.@@NittanyRaven
Great video. Would you say December is the best time to play the course from your research/experience? Skipping the hotel fee sounds massive as that’s my biggest barrier to going for it. How much is it otherwise these days?
December can be REALLY hit or miss. Equally likely to get a bluebird day or a day when it's totally unplayable due to wind and rain. The hotel rooms start at $1K USD/night (plus resort fees and blah blah blah), so for me, December was the only realistic option I had. Luckily we got a bluebird day.
@@NotAScratchGolfer Looked beautiful for December yeah. How much is just the golf then? Did you get a waitlist time or could you book ahead in low season?
December can really go either way in Monterey. We got perfect weather. The next week the weather turned really sour. The promo they were offering this December allowed you to book an advanced tee time with no hotel stay. The green fee is $625 (at all times of year).@@haydenredl2919
Who else ducked when he chipped it over the camera on 10? 😂
I did while editing!
How's the weather in Dec? So no requirements to stay at resort to book a Dec tt?
The weather there in December can REALLY go either way. We were lucky to catch a bluebird day. A few days later it dumped rain. And correct, no required resort stay in December (at least this December) to book a tee time.
What is your average putting score per round? I feel that putting is what puts you at a single digit.
I can’t wait
You going there? :)
@@NotAScratchGolfer No, I can’t wait to watch the video is what I meant 😂
haha gotcha@@Haun-terIII
Have my wife’s family in town from Mexico rn. Finally watching at the end of night. Good round bro 😂
Thanks!@@Haun-terIII
So for the December waiver, does that mean you can call in 24hrs in advance and hope for a tee time? Or do they let you book in advance w/o staying at their hotels?
I received an email in October about it. Basically, you could call in and book a tee time in advance without having to book a hotel room. I booked right away. I'm not sure if that's an annual thing or if it was just this December.
Sounds like a good reason to get on their email list! Appreciate the tip and the content.@@NotAScratchGolfer
Thanks!@@ijustifymylies
How do you score with that swing?
Golf ball only cares about impact position ;)
Anything but the double tap :-)
It actually saved me that time!
Looks like you had a nice weather day out there!! Pretty decent round Adam!! Hope you have a great start into the New Year!!🎆🏌♂⛳😀
Thanks!!
Pebble hasn’t looked like that the last few days🌧😢
Yeah, we sure got lucky!
Waialae (Sony Open) plays at 7044
TIL!
No swing tweaks ?
They're still a channel partner! This video was more of a sneak peek at the round so chose not to include a ST piece.
Bucket list
#1 public course on my bucket list!
“First shit drive of the day” - still in the fairway, effortless
Long # in on that hole though!
For some reason idk what it is but your swing looks so weird to me. I will say It’s very effective. Great playing!
That birdie on 8 was very nice.
It's not a swing anybody would teach, I'll say that much! :p
TPC River Highlands is shorter. Additionally Pebble officially plays under 7,000 yards.
Today I learned! On Tour they play Pebble at just over 7,000. Wild that they've added a shorter layout, albeit a Par 70.
What we call a bunker to bunker shot is called a bin laden
Did Dan shake your hand? Seems like he left you hanging!
lol he did
Greens fees?
Up to a stomach churning $625 these days :p
@NotAScratchGolfer wow, its really gone up, i paid 350 but had to stay at their hotel which was expensive but it was all worth it.
@@NotAScratchGolfer Did you cough up $625?
I did!@@chasman67
Let me know if you want to play in the San Francisco / Oakland area.
Thanks! I'll try to make a post on my community tab when I know I'll be in town for a bit. Whereabouts do you play?
great round. I like the facts but they are really distracting.
Appreciate the feedback. Tried it out for the first time.
No scorecard!
There will be a properly narrated version of this round coming up in the future, it'll include a scorecard and the other stats I typically track!
perpendicular
Ah man did I make a typo?
Horrible swing but pretty decent putter.
I fucking hate your swing😂😂😂 but it works for you lmao
