Terry and Jack really do look like father and son...very well cast.
That sodding siren sound effect in the episodes during this era. Sounds like it’s right outside the door each time!
Julie Goodyear has beautiful brown eyes. What a touching scene with Deirdre and Bet who has a heart of gold. What memories of big curly hair in the late 80s. It’s nice that we can see Annie Kirkbride’s lovely face with the new frames.
Julie Goodyear has lovely dainty hands. They look lovey when she is making a pot ant stirring the sugar in
You done the business with this channel Gun. Thanks for filling in empty spaces for those of us who couldn't fill them. All the best.
Looks like this is where we part company. Many thanks for all the uploads, I’ve been binge watching since January 1980.
Me too!
But ive been non stop watching since episode 1 in 1960
Luckily a channel called
Auntie Corrie has been uploading the 1st batch in black & white vision
Its been amazing watching these really old ones & i was just 7yrs old when the first Corrie was shown.
So far its taken me almost 4 weeks constant viewing but its been so wonderful & kept my attention wrapt!
Seeing the houses in their origional state with the huge black metal fire range with the fire & various ovens & the dreary wallpaper that stayed up for decades!
The camera even pans down the street giving the name of the actors who played the roles at each house
There was Stan & Hilda & son Trevor & daughter Irma, Ida & Frank Barlow with sons Ken & David.
Then Harry & Concepta Hewitt & daughter Lucille, Albert Tatlock with niece Valerie, Elsie Tanner & son Dennis & daughter Linda.
Then, Ena Sharples at the Mission.
Where mikes factory is there used to be a store called
Gamma Garments where Miss Nugent ( Emily) worked as assistant to manager Mr Swinley
The corner shop was 1st run by
Florrie Linley ( then Maggie Clegg took over who was Betty Turpins sister)
The Kabin wasnt there then but Len Fairclough was & worked in the yard but i cant remember if he lived in the street
Alf was also in the 1st ones & a few others whos names escape me
And of course Annie & Jack Walker ran the Rovers with teen son Billy
I have to admit that by this current batch Dec 1989, they arent as good as earlier ones & i feel this lot is the coming end to the golden years of Corrie!
I personally stopped watching Corrie on tv in the very early 2000 parts but it was becoming
Miserable & the scriptwriters were a new breed & inferior
I'll give these uploads till about
1995 then i think i'll call it a day
But ive saved all the 1960s & 70s
Episodes on file as they are seriously re watchable!
There are another couple of channels about but this one
Professional Gun 66 & Auntie Corrie are by far the best.
Carry on viewing & i recommend the early 60s ( & 70s) they are
Marvellous!
Regards
🇬🇧👧
I've been on a binge since the start in 1960. I'm past the point where I saw them when live. It's changing but I'll stick with it until at least Bradleys meeting with a tram. That will be worth waiting for.
There's a kind of nostalgia to this but what infuriates me is how many of the actors on here are dead!!
They really need to stop allowing people to die!!
It's a shame, but look on the bright side we be joining them soon :) xx
Alan and Audrey dancing at the party -they were actually husband and wife until his death earlier this year.
Dreary has ruined her hair, and Tracey just needs a flippin' good thrashing!!! Plus, no way would Rita have taken that slag Alan Bradley back.
Bloody brilliant thanks for uploading 👍👍
Jack+Vera, bet+ Alec, Rita+ Mavis, mavis + Derek, all comedy gold with 10 times better story lines than today!
It seems from Dec '88 onwards, Alan Bradley started being a Villain. Mark Eden who played him did an excellent job, because he is in reality a skilled Stage/Screen actor, who was also excellent playing Marco Polo in the 63 Doctor Who, and in The Prisoner episode too.
Alan Bradley was the BEST soap villain of all time because he played him like a real person, and not a 'cartoon character' - also the better/skilled/decent/clever writers played a important part too . They preferred quality instead of ratings at the time - such a shame the show has now gone to the dogs compared to the 'Golden Era' of the Podmore years. BTW, I read in his Bio, if Corrie went severely downhill (like nowadays), he would of taken the show off air immediately.
I wish someone decent was running Corrie now, but Alan Bradley's daughter is apparently the current Landlady of the Rovers - strange.
All the great writers like John Stevenson, Adele Rose and Frank Cottrell Boyce have gone now.
Podmore must have been seriously deluded if he really said that. As a mere producer he would have had no authority to take Corrie off air. As ITV's no.1 flagship programme that would have been a decision for the chief executive of ITV. In reality the decision would have rested even higher up, with advertisers and even the government sticking their 2p in as well.
Oh my! Jennie Horrible Bradley in charge of the Rover's! How terrible! Come back Annie Walker or Bet and Alec!
So alan leaves because rita was emotionless, and Rita allows him back even though he went off with someone else, I always thought rita was more than that
Because he is a conman and after any money she has. The girlfriend wouldn't let him into her life financially as a partner or husband as she was wary, happy to sleep with him, but nothing else, so he snapped straight back to Rita who he then defrauds for thousands by taking money out in the name of the dead Len Fairclough. The character is a total conman, he is just one of these men who sponges off women and ends up in jail for fraud.
PRECIOUS! Thank you so much for this upload 😁😁😁
Thank you Gun for all the work you do. I live in Canada and I am loving watching all the classic Corrie..
2:53:23 - Bet was such an amazing character. Deirdre always did crying scenes so well.
3:09:58 1:58:00 3:07:55 - Roscoe
2:05:14 Oh God.
Must have brought back memories of when Deirdre was molested under the viaduct in 1977, she attempted suicide on a motorway bridge as a result. I’ll have to watch the episodes back but I don’t think Bet even knew about that, only Ray, Len and Emily & Ernie as I recall. Anne was always exceptional in emotional scenes.
If Tracy thinks the world revolves around her that's down to Ken and Drearys parenting!
In real life, the narcistic behavior of kids is indeed caused by parenting with too much coddling and stressing too much on how important they are! A common trait with an only child!
@agems56 100% I have relatives and if anything ever goes wrong in there lives they just can not cope at all. That all through parent telling them they can do no wrong, an they literaly belive it It's a shame in a way xx
@@ellenjohnson3346I'm sure she realises it's not real, and is just getting into the story and commenting on it like everyone else is!
@@agems56Actually narcissism is more to do with someone's biology, and certainly isn't a common trait in someone just bc they are an only child! What a
offensive, judgemental, ignorant and not to mention stupid thing to say 🤦♀️
Ken’s face when he is facing up to the roscoe bloke is laughable
Thanks for this its fabulous.
Ken on his high horse over Tracy letting that guy in when Deidre was out he was in the pub drinking.
Deidre and Ken call all their enemys
by their surnames
Ty so much for uploading these episodes great fan from nz here
Would you flaming credit it?
Terry's got the sack, for pulling the daft kind of stroke Jack has been pulling all his life.
So now, everybody has to explain themselves to that gutter- snipe, Vera. After which, she has the flaming gall to put them all on notice. Including Alf, the fella that did her and Terry, a very big favor by not calling in the Old Bill, after Terry broke into his shop and stole 80 quids worth of booze. Typical, it's everybody else's fault. Flipping Duckeggs.
Thank you for uploading all these classic Coronation Street videos! Will you by any chance be uploading videos for 1989? Thank you!
No wonder tracylove turned out the way she did listening to those two on the Xmas episode. ! 😂🤦♀️
Great scripts and great acting. Love classic Corrie. Thanks.
The next Tracy Luv
Ken & derdrie oblivious to the fact there daughter has had head transplant lol
Alf never had all this involvement Deirdre has. He only went to the odd meeting.
Oh I love Bet's Christmas jumper. I have seen it before but it's gorgeous!
Thank you from Australia 🇦🇺
Don was stupid here. He beat Baldwin and should have left it at that. Instead he was riled up and let greed muddy his judgement. Baldwin wasn’t fazed and used his savvy.
I love Bet and Alec being round at Emily's for Christmas dinner 😂 their comments and reactions to everything 😂
Just brilliant this month of show ty professional gun luv it all the way from nz
Betty was born in leicestershire, she says duck a local expression.
Wouldn’t all Len and Rita’s business \ finance documents state Len as dead now, to stop precisely what Alan’s trying to do?
Yep the cynic in me keeps thinking surely he'd need to have a bank account in Len's name to receive money from a bank? Perhaps they didn't in the 80s.. nobody seems to have a bank account in Corrie as they've repeated the 'please cash a cheque for me' storyline many times!
Yeah that's what I thought as surely everything dies when the person dies but it is the 80s so perhaps it was easier to do that then?
Terry sometimes reminds me of Christopher Reeve when he was evil Superman in Superman 3, if you squint a bit ;-).
And if you squint really, really hard, Vera could easily pass as Marilyn Monroe 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes, thank you very much😊
Deirdre really annoyed me in these episodes. She was a mother long before she was a councillor!
There was the episode when Tracy ran away as Dreary wouldn't let her have a dog!
Why didn't they buy Tracy a cat instead as they are less bother!
I get the impression this is where the root of the rivalry and feud stemmed from between Mike Baldwin and Don Brennan. This being obviously a long long time ago is starting to dawn on me and I'm putting forward this off the top of my head.
@ProfessionalGun66
Did you only go up to dec 1988 with Coronation St?
I can’t find any more.
Thank you for all the you gave done 😊
HELLO THERE ,
ive been watching your fantastic 70s/80s uploads of coronation street for a while now.......
i wonder do you have ALL the episodes in a complete play order from 1998 and 1999, to round the decade off properly
or do you know anyone else who has them recorded.....
REGARDS DUKES 1989
Boy oh boy Rita is so gullible. Women on the street are so needy where men are concerned.
I was thinking that myself, in every other respect she comes across as a strong, independent woman but where he’s concerned she’s a simpering mess.
She never used to be. She was tough and independent. This story line made her needy and desperate . Great story line but hated seeing her like that.
You know, ive been trying to think what creature Mavis reminds me of, its taken me 4 weeks of binge watching these old Corries & suddenly i knew it
.....
Mavis is like a shrew!
A worrity twitching little creature like a field mouse or
Small little rodent but its also quite vicious when cornered or
Fighting over food or territory
Our silly Mavis is very Shrew like
& sly, cunning & scheming but twitches & shakes & trembles & i can imagine mavis's voiceover if a docu about a Shrew were shown
It would be a hoot to see & actress Thelma Barlow who plays mavis would be perfect as the voice of Miss Shrew!
Lol 😆
Regards
🇬🇧👧
Mavis played a bloody good part. Brilliant actress. She was very clever the way she played it. Don’t forget it’s called acting that’s what they do they play part.
Wouldn't Alan Bradley be asked for proof of i.d to ascertain that he's Len Fairclough?
I love Alec's repartee with Bet 😅
Nice scene between Deirdre and Bet
Oh! Mat Monroe playing at Mavis and Derek's soiree I think! The best singer that ever lived. Forget Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin etc. Plus, he looked just like my wonderful Dad.
He was brilliant I completely agree - and Francis Albert Sinatra thought the same!
Well done Mike, for taking Brennan to cleaners.
hi great stuff do you have any episode from the 60s
It's so nice to see Mavis happily married at last.
Is there any chance of uploading 1989 if you have time, getting withdrawal symptoms here. Thanks again for your time.
Scriptwriters did Rita's character no justice in this storyline with Alan Ass Bradley but Barbara Knox did a wonderful job
Wasn’t ’Roscoe’ that was the rogue builder in future Emmerdale episodes?
Dreary and ken could do with being taught a lesson and made to live in the high rise flats to get an idea of how the other half live!
So happy to see Mavis happy 😊
For 1989 onwards go here ua-cam.com/video/DwxY9wW8D-c/v-deo.html
Thanks for an incredible journey which covered the first 12 years of my life concurrently. I certainly miss Eddie, Hilda, Stan , and Elsie Tanner. I think Rita's life would have been different with Elsie's friendship still in play. Much appreciation for these uploads.!
I don't have anymore Corrie to upload. Can anyone remind me what happened after the big poker game Mike won?
You've inspired me to have a go myself PG, I've done January '89, sadly missing two episodes but 7/9 isn't bad. Haven't a clue how to do the fancy thumbnails or starter pages though. ua-cam.com/video/DwxY9wW8D-c/v-deo.html
Ken is violent tendency, talki g to a child like that ( no wonder he didnt last as a teacher)
Is it really good to watch the old coronation street from over the years 🤔
Is it really good to watch coronation street from the last ten years till now? No it isn't 😂
Ooooooooo I just knew Allan was going call himself Len!!!!
Mike paid for his drinks with a tenner twice near the end when he was in the pub sorting out a card school at his place jack takes a tenner then Baldwin pays him another tenner jack must have been laughing at that mistake 3.15
Martin does my head in.
Mike wins game and ivy begs mike to give don his car back..don and mike become sworn enemies from thereon.
Don was a loser literally and figuratively. Kind of guy who would thrive in today's blame culture.
A year later and Mike Baldwin would have the smirk wiped off his face by Robert Prescott.
Alf: 'it's not me wind ya know' loool
Alan Bradley was an obnoxious, user.
@@irenemorley75They are talking about the character, not the actress. 🙄
LOL, Dawn Acton at the time of her debut was very tiny indeed when you compare her to her predecessor Holly Chamarette who was a bit of a beanpole in comparison. I must say Acton went on to play the role splendidly and i wished she had done so instead of Kate Ford.
I couldn't stand the teenage Tracey,.
And where did she get that accent from? It's nothing like her parents.
@@ddrose06 I think it was vital that the new `Tracey` had a broad Mancunian accent. The producers would have it planned that she would go on to play the rebellious sulky teenager and i think for that to have worked she needed the heavy accent. It wouldn't have worked with a plain accent.
My little swap duck always makes me laugh that x
5 Christmas's later Jacks temper snapped and he punched Terry in the face.
New TracyLuv is about 2 feet shorter than old TraceyLuv
Another interior decoration jobs at The Boring Barlow’s? Bland beige suits them.
Is Mavis wearing her wedding outfit on Christmas Day at Emily’s?
Vera..gob and a half😂
Coronation Street is good to watch, but you have to suspend your belief in reality. Real people simply don’t act these ways….
What were writers drinking to even entertain the idea Bet/ Alex go together
Deirdre has got balls! Unfortunatly she never used them and always rolled over to Ken
Even though dreary is a snob what she said to Roscoe was true about how a high rise is a luxury compared to what some poor people in the world have to put up with!
It would do Roscoe good to help poor people who struggle to get basic necessities in life!
But I recall Deirdre turning down a high rise Alf got for her when she split up from Ray. Maybe she's forgotten.
Jack is really funny at the moment
Turns my stomach seeing Rita tiptoe around that 🔔end
Like the councillor would go alone to a council block at night !! What were they thinking ..🤷🏼♂️😳
Emily is so passive aggressive
Deidre, you asked for that, heard of a cab.
Don should have pushed Baldwin off his chair, grabbed some tinsel off the Christmas Tree and strangled the smug ****
Audrey ya are still all fur coat and no knicker guuuurl. You’re welcome sweetie. ☺☺
Is it just me 🤔 ….when there’s singing to the piano playing, I can’t hear what the actors are saying….its very irritating …😳🤷🏼♂️👎
Alan Rita Should Get Married
A different tracey again
Dodgy Alan
Deidre is not smart at all. 🤦♀️
Well I know that. Goes to show what a good job they did acting. But stuff like this really happens.
Number 2 Tracey 😂
WTG Ken - boring and jealous. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Next Tracey up to bat!
Have to skip all Deirdre's scenes with this awful guy
The only ‘exciting’ plotline over the Christmas eposides and it is YAWN thanks to The Boring Barlow’s. 🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱
Johnny Briggs was a great actor. The fact that Mike Baldwin was such a detestable, smug, smarmy piece of work was a testament to his acting skill.
