I wish ITV 3 puts the old 60's episodes from the beginning on - if they did this, they would have huge ratings. The reason I say this, is because Corrie is thought of as an 'Old Friend'. If Corrie is going to celebrate it's 70th Anniversary, what is needed to do achieve this is to get a proper strict Producer, get rid of half it's cast, get rid of half an hour per week and new writers. If this does not happens, it would end up like Crossroads.

I went to the Granda Television Tour when I was in England, in 1990. Granada don't just produce Corrie, they have an interior Parliament set that production companies use; they have Baker Street with 221B Sherlock Holmes flat / street, and of course, Coronation Street! The street exterior set in those days was 2/3rds scale and they used wide angle lenses on the cameras to make it look bigger. The houses you see in the street are only one storey, no upper level,, and are used as costume and lighting stores; and back then, the writers of the show had their offices in some of the houses. The Rovers, is a time/space warp in reality: The "Select" function room just couldn't have existed - it would have been on the road. But we ignored that, lol. And why did we NEVER see anyone's front rooms? At the end of the street, behind the viaduct, is a huge sound stage where all the interiors were filmed, they filmed the exteriors in the Street on Mondays (hence continuity errors from exterior to exterior and visa-versa.) I paid £25 (which was a lot in 1990) to do this video. My brother and I went into a bluescreen/ chromakey set and leaned on a "bar". There were the lines we had to say printed on a giant board that kept eyeline in-tact, and when the light came on, you said the line. Unfortunately, we couldn't hear the other pre-recorded actors, and so we had no context to what we were saying, so it does sound a bit flat and disjointed. But this was the result and to this day, we're lucky to have experienced Television history. ua-cam.com/video/nvKtmyKMIu0/v-deo.htmlsi=LHna294-TXSlY96f
